You lasted against who? The zombies?
And did you figure out how to get NPCs into the castle?

Maybe he spawned them in the castle.
I've recently started playing this game (vanilla, no mods or expansion packs) and i'm level 5 now. One thing that's been bugging me almost since the beginning is that i can't find a restore health spell that can be used for healing others. Seriously, you'd think that would be a very common spell but i haven't found it anywhere yet, i can't even heal my goddamn horse. Ok, i did find one, but it was a ranged spell that was too expensive to cast and it required jorneyman restoration. My restoration skill is currently at level 22. Does anybody know where i could find such spell that i could actually cast?

Have you checked the temples yet?

They sell them in churches, I don't think there's any on touch spells though, only ranged.

Aren't the convalescence spells touch-based?
I was playing around today, when one of my companions kept acting up. He kept starting fights with my other companions, and every so often he would throw an anger fit and knock one of them out.
I brought him to the middle of the desert and disarmed him and myself of all armor and weapons. I got in a fistfight with him that lasted almost ten full minutes, with me getting my ass kicked by him. We started fighting on a small road in Elsweyr, but the fight moved to a cliff, then into a small river, and finally on the edge of the waterfall. I was badly hurt, and he kept knocking me down, as I was low on fatigue. Finally, I managed to push him back to the edge of the waterfall. I stunned him with a punch, and using a power attack, coupled with the Deadly Reflex mod, crushed his head, and sent him plummeting off the edge of the waterfall, into the river.
I'll have to remember to collect his enchanted bracers and the pieces of his skull from his headless body.
That sounds really cool. I only ever have one companion at a time, though.

Nope.

If you want on touch spells you'll have to make them yourself.

Actually, I think I got a touch heal spell from KoTN.
OK, Oblivion is almost done reinstalling and re-modding, so I need suggestions on what kind of character to make. I have made:
1. A sneaky, arrowy, not-very-nice dude--he became rich and retired to a tower in the mountains
2. A fast, hand-to-handy, acrobat monk dude--never really "finished" this character
3. A straight-up sword and shield heavy armor mercenary dude--abandoned this one due to getting my ass kicked over and over
4. An evil wizard--became powerful enough to become a Lich and kill everyone in Leyawiiin, then retired to the Astral plane
So, what next? Suggestions on class/alignment/etc welcome.
Uhhh, looks like i'm going to have to gain 3 restoration levels, then buy the convalescence. It's kind of expensive to cast though (i have about 100 magicka, so i'll only be able to cast it twice before i run out)
If you want on touch spells you'll have to make them yourself.
Where do i make them?
Become a witch hunter. If you see anyone use magic, kill them right away. Even if they're important to something you're doing.

Get LAME. Helps with the magic costs.
I installed the zombie mod and because I haven't played in ages I made a new character like I usually do. When the menu pops up I do a quick start on Dawn of the Dead. Sounds fun. But after going through the beginning handholding plot quest through the prisons/sewers and milling about near the Imperial Isle nothing's out of the ordinary so far. How long does it tend to take for zombies to start becoming conspicuous? If when they come they just steamroll everything I might reset it and change to Patient Zero or something.
OK, I think I know what character I'm making. An Argonian, arriving from Black Marsh in search of a new life. He'll specialize in sneaking (he is an Argonian, after all), stabbing, and other "entrepeneurial" skills.

It's fun being a MageTank. Magic - Intelligence/Endurance - Alteration/Armourer/Conjuration/Destruction/Restoration/Heavy Armour/Block (designed for Bretons)
Idea is he summons creatures to even up the numbers as he fights with magic, gets patched up and fixes his stuff after the fight, has competitive defense ability so he can jump into the fight and not rely solely on the resilience of his summons. I use this with a mod that lets me summon multiple things, and more as your Conjuration levels up.
By the way what do people think of this class? I swapped out Mysticism for Armorer because the former didn't seem very relevant compared to having a good ability to fix up any enchanted armour I might have.

:saddowns:
Well, I'm not done making my character anyways, and I am quickly finding out that Argonians are butt-ugly, so Breton it is! I've made too many sneaky assassin characters anyways, and magic is fun.
[editline]04:05PM[/editline]
He'll be of nobler origin, a veteran come to purge the land of evil. BRETON RAGE!
I've started a new character as a Skyrim Khajitii Monk. The only armor he'll use is bracers, other than that, only regular clothing, which is allowed to be enchanted. He doesn't use any weapons except his fists, of course.
If I backup my oblivion folder (a freshly installed version), in the future will I be able to, if I wanted to go back to vanilla oblivion, remove my current folder and replace it with the backed up one, rather than re-downloading it?
(This is for steamblivion, by the way)
Edit:
Oh, awesome, steam has a backup feature so I can store oblivion on a CD (well, 6 CDs actually.)
Edit:
Make that 9 CDs.
Where do i make them?
You can make spells at spellmaking altars, you have to complete all the mages guild recommendation quests to get access to the arcane university where they have altars, if you have the wizards tower dlc it comes with spellmaking altars you can use after you've bought the needed candles to activate the altar. There's probably also loads of custom player home mods with altars.

I did the same thing and choose a zombie senario while in the prison and after visiting nearly every city I realised there weren't any zombies at all so I had to use the spell to start a new scenario, maybe it doesn't work until you've escaped the prison or something. The mod also adds newspapers to taverns and inns where you can read the latest news in the zombie spreadings, if it doesn't say anything there probably aren't any, if the paper is outdated the Black Horse Courier might have been attacked meaning the Imperial City is overrun.
Why can't I select any other eye color than brown :argh:

Only if you wear the gauntlets of the crusader, it's a lesser power with heal 50 on touch, called "Merciful Touch" or something along those lines.

I had a mod that gave you two rings, one opened the enchantment window, the other opened the spell making window (because most of my characters weren't mages, so I didn't want to go through the mage's guild, but most standard spells/enchantments I found weren't what I wanted)
I will find the link now.

Just try not to accidentally give them away.

You haven't seen any because the towns are still resisting.
Try going into the Imperial City.
Ok, could someone explain to me what's so useful about mysticism? I've only ever used it once, and that was because I was bored and wanted to throw objects at people with telekinesis. I can get detect life as an enchantment easily, that's permanent, (yes, I can get every other effect too but spells for these seem to be more powerful than the enchants on items, and don't waste item slots - whereas detect life is something I would use an item for.)
I think it is because of the shield spell, so it reduces damage taken.
And reflect (the damage that would have been done to you is done to the person who hit you) and absorb spells.
Um, how do I open the 28 days menu? I'm not so keen on arriving in a kingdom full of zombies.
[editline]04:41PM[/editline]
Nevermind, found the spell.

Shield is alteration.
Oh, is reflect damage mysticism? Although I thought you had to be a really high level for it to be any use as it takes so much magicka.
I tried to reinstall oblivion, and now it doesn't work. I verified the game files in steam, and said it fixed one file, but I still have the problem. When I click "play" from the launcher, the bethesda splash shows up and then the game crashes. If I press esc to skip the screen, it goes to the loading screen and crashes there. Do I need to reinstall again or what?
What's a good armor mod? Something big, heavy, and intimidating. Preferably with full-face helmets.

Nah, he should be in search of new life with his "rich" cousin. who turns out to be in debt and you start doing underworld stuff and your cousin keep calling you via telepathy.
hey cuzz, wana see some big argonian tee-tees?
Argh, 99 percent of armor mods are "hurr durr boobies n thongs n anime." ffffffffffff
