I got it for the lols. [editline]06:17PM[/editline]
Nearing the end of my FCOM installation quest.
That can end in two ways; It works and if so rejoice to the world. If not, then you can have an epic rage fest.
Okay. It's all finished. Only one thing left to do. Wish me luck.

Gentlemen, I've successfully installed FCOM and have it running.
To all you guys who can't get fcom to work: If it crashes on startup, which it always does to me, delete your oblivion.ini file(or rename it). It should run after that. If it doesn't, disable any extra mods until it works. Last time it didn't work for me, there was one little compatibility esp(FCOM-Mighty Umbra.esp) for fcom that broke it because I didn't have the original mod for it. If that doesn't work and you're really committed, start over. It shouldn't take long since you have all the mods already downloaded, and remember to delete that ini file before you run it and after you have it working(just to be safe). After that, do whatever you want to it.
I don't see how, it's pretty straightforward. Just download all mods ahead of time, install python stuff, then go down the page installing the mods it lists (using the settings the FCOM page tells you to) then just hop into Wrye Bash and check the necessary mods. Close it, run BOSS, then open Wrye Bash and rebuild the Bashed Patch (make sure the tick the "Leveled Lists" box when doing so). I've done it twice this week, once on desktop, once on laptop. Both times it's worked fine.
I don't see how either. That's why I gave up. The frustration isn't worth it.
I don't see how either. That's why I gave up. The frustration isn't worth it.
I was saying that it's not that hard.
I was saying that it's not that hard.
I know it's not. That's why it's so frustrating when it doesn't work. Which for me isn't worth it since I'm happy with just OOO.
Gentlemen, I've successfully installed FCOM and have it running.
Well done!
What's the whole bashed patch do? I forgot to do that part and it still runs fine.
I know it's not. That's why it's so frustrating when it doesn't work. Which for me isn't worth it since I'm happy with just OOO.
Oh I see what you're getting at now. [editline]06:04PM[/editline]
What's the whole bashed patch do? I forgot to do that part and it still runs fine.
I'm not entirely sure, but to my understanding it plays a large role in "meshing" the mods, mainly the leveled lists. As you said, it works without it, but some things won't be present/work correctly. A similar topic: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=924363&topic=43383834
I wandered into some inn nearby the city and I saw a Black Horse Courier special edition that said Cheydinhal was getting zombie attacks. Went over there and shit was going down big time. I saw people get killed by zombies then transform into them themselves. I hope I didn't break any quests. I did reset scenario for now, gonna leave it off until I'm a wank level 50 person or something, so I can actually make some difference when I push against the zombie attack. I kind of wish there was a way of making them weaker, when I fast travelled to the town to see what was going on a big crowd of zombies gangraped the guards outside, so I spammed summons to cover my escape inside, where much the same happened. I legged it, summoning zombie bait again, until combat mode went off and I could fast travel again. I was hoping for crowds of zombies walking over the hill towards the castle and the towns being able to hold out decently, not a big steamroll of the whole province with zombies appearing magically around anything human.
Use the game settings, you can set everything from their hitpoints to the chance they rise after being killed the first time. Its rare to find zombies roaming around in the open, but it happens from time to time.
Use the game settings, you can set everything from their hitpoints to the chance they rise after being killed the first time.
Yeah I did have a play with the settings, removed zombies from Cheydinhal but there are still NPCs having a merry old time killing people and turning them into zombies. How do I bring back the dead ones and get the infected ones out of that little holding cell? I might just start a new game if I can't fix it completely.
Use the Reset Scenario/settings I can't remember. What happens is, when a NPC is infected, and dies, he doesn't actually die, he is teleported to a separate cell, and when you reset settings, it sends all of the zombies to that holding cell and teleports all of the normal people back.
So, can anyone tell me the location of all the waterfalls in Cyrodiil?
Has anyone gotten the zombie mod to work with FCOM... I have a working FCOM, but every time I start the zombie invasion nothing happens. I find the black horse courier special edition in the inn, but nothing happens when I click on it. I have also gone to every city and nothing is there. (I selected hive)

They're waiting for you to look the other way so they can populate.
It would be a lot easier if FCOM just came in a tidy and practical installer. Oh well, I'll attempt to install it as soon as I get home.
It would be a lot easier if FCOM just came in a tidy and practical installer. Oh well, I'll attempt to install it as soon as I get home.
It's really no big deal, just download everything AHEAD of time, then go through and follow the directions.
OK guys, idea for a new character. He's a dashing rogue, a gentleman swashbucker if you will. In his view, laws are made to be broken, and he won't stop 'til he's the greatest swordsman in the world! Specialization: Combat Favored attributes: Strength and Speed Major Skills: Blade, Block, Athletics, Acrobatics, Speechcraft, Hand to Hand, Light Armor The idea here is to make a versatile, fast sword wielder who can strike quickly, disable his foes, and finish them off. Hand to hand is useful too, since it damages stamina directly. [editline]12:32AM[/editline] Oh, and he'll be an Imperial.

It's pointless having more than one melee damage skill. Unless it's for roleplaying. I'm thinking about what's more practical for a serious character. Fucking stupid alarm clock almost giving me a heart attack. Wait a minute I haven't fallen asleep yet. Plus, I have school today.

Imperials have a penalty to Agility, and it's not gonna be a favored attribute, so my character will be pretty bad at sneaking. The reason I chose hand to hand is that it directly damages your opponent's fatigue (this is buffed by OOO, as well as the reach of H2H attacks), so you can knock them over if you hit them enough. I may switch this out for Mercantile, though, since as an Imperial I'd have a bonus to it. [editline]01:24AM[/editline] Plus, it's the easiest way to disarm an opponent, which would really be my character's "style."

I have a mod installed that makes the maximum hand to hand damage 30 if you have 100 strength and 100 hand to hand. It makes up for it somewhat, although I wouldn't rely on it to save my character's life. I also noticed that hand to hand disarms opponents more quickly than weapons. I just prefer a longsword or claymore which chops them in half just fine.
I got some kind of weird staff thing added by OOO, restores health and magicka constantly. It's fucking sweet. It acts as a shield. It's perfect for me, I'm a Nightblade, 50% magic 50% sneaky blade death. So basically, I can spam Finger of the Mountain and finish the bugger off with an Ebony Blade :smug:

Meanwhile, I just beat/slash/stab everything to death with no variation apart from occasional destruction spells.

Zipping around without being hit and punching people in the back while they were recovering from their swing was great. Having them then crumple up on the ground while I whaled on them? Amazing. [editline]01:37AM[/editline] Plus, DR lets you stab people you've knocked over. FINISH HIM!

He was very fast and strong, but was very sneaky, so instead of cracking their skulls with his fists, he cracked their spines when they weren't looking. Also was my first character in oblivion. Which means no mods. I'm sure that recreating him now would be practically impossible, but I'll give it a shot. I'll probably cheat and use the console anyway.
im currently running around in an enchanted set of legion armor (which i pilfered off of a dead guard :3 ), charging at people for decapitation (Deadly reflex) and yelling STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! and ive just murdered a junkie in his own home, then stole all the skooma.
The Abandoned Mountain Shack is an awesome house mod. I made a Paladin character, finished Knights of the Nine and retired into it after cleaning it up. It's kinda fun finding all the stuff you need to repair everything :3:
Alright here we go I'm going to try to install FCOM.
