I got an OMOD version for ease of install.
I'm installing OBMM in the hopes that it'll fix my crash on loading a savegame, but how do I get it to work with steam? Hitting the 'load oblivion' button tells me to check the readme (which doesn't exist). The help topic thingy that comes with it doesn't have anything to do with steam in it either...

The readme is in the OBMM folder, as a compiled html file. Also, do you have Oblivion Script Extender?
It has been a week since I ordered Oblivion from Newegg and it hasn't even left California. (I live in Pennsylvania.)

Yup. And the html has no mention of steam, at all.
I'll just run it then use Oblivion beside it, see if that works. I'll install the UOP first though... ugh, I have too many mods.

Well this is a bit of a cock, my game crashes if I try to load my main save game. Starting a new game works... Is there any way to fix this?

Has to re-install the game, the Guard Overhaul broke my game (frequent crashes when fighting indoors, guards sometimes didn't arrest me despite me attacking someone right in front of them, etc.)
I just copied my brother's TES4 files straight to my computer so I wouldn't have to download it. I updated it, ran fine, but I've found there's a shitloads of mods, they could be out of date, can anyone confirm what I should and should not have?

Why is it that my download speed goes to shit when I try and download something from tesnexus or planetelderscrolls? Something wrong with their database or fileserver?
TESNexus has shit download speeds, it's not just you.
Either that or it's you and me only.
I think it said on their site recently that once they fix the problems with the servers, the speed cap would increase to 300 KB per second. Maybe that's the problem.
Any time I download something from tesnexus, my download speed is 50kb per second. Too slow.
