Did you download the base files and not just the latest version (which is only a patch)? Many seem to make that mistake. When I installed it I think I had the base files and 3 patches to install ontop.
Yep, I made sure I got the full version 1.22, and then the version 1.33 patch. I'll try removing the 1.33 patch, and see if it makes a difference. If I'm missing any files, then I don't think they were on TESNexus.
The full version is 1.3, isn't it?
Yes, it's definitely 1.3, then you add 1.33 on top.
Saw the platinum for $25 (In Australia). Was that A good deal?
Yea, 1.3 is a full version, here's the files I installed in order: OOO 1.3 OOO 1.32f OOO 1.33 OOO 1.34 beta 5 Works like a charm, I'm running FCOM.
So I'm at the first Oblivion gate, trying to clear the tower. I killed the bad guy with the key, went up some hallways, but now there's two containers on this platform but no way up anymore. wat do

Wait to be teleported back to cyrodiil. To change what power the stone you get gives you, when it says "xxxx Sigil Stone added to inventory" go to your inventory, see what powers it gives (one will be a damage one, which is applied when you use it on a weapon, the other is an effect one, which is applied when you put it on armor or clothes.) If you don't like the effect the stone gives, load your last save and take the stone again - it's random each time. The higher your level the better the stone will be.
Is there a mod that makes oblivion realms from all deadra prince visitable. is it relevant to this: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Doors_of_Oblivion
I'm stuck in the Cycle of Oblivion. Play Oblivion. Some months later, get bored, uninstall/format hardrive. Someone on forums mentions Oblivion Nostalgia Install Oblivion Repeat
Does anyone else here like being a thug waiting down a bush near a road to 'rob' travellers? I love doing it.

Well, I guess it's google time.
Try going on Planet Elder Scrolls, I think it's hosted there.
One time in Oblivion I was killing everyone in a certain town. I ended up being out numbered and had to cheese it. So I run outside the town to get to my horse and finally when I was in the area where my horse was, I suddenly see some faggot elf run off on my horse into the woods. I literally couldn't stop laughing because it was probably the most random thing I've ever seen.
Hey, I've been looking for a certain mod. It was a stealing revision, where if you, say, picked up a dagger, nobody would call you CRIMINAL SCUM. The shopowner would follow you, but then if you lost him for a moment and pocketed the dagger, he would see you without the dagger and know you took it and call the guards. Does anyone know what mod this is?
So i just bought this game from my friend today (game of the year edition on consoles [yes consoles bitch and moan all you want my computer is too crappy]) and so far the beginning is so... ugh. Literally i'm confused where to go and what the fuck these people are asking me to do.
Anything you need help understanding, or is it just the way they phrase things?
Anything you need help understanding, or is it just the way they phrase things?
The whole quest system throws me off. Sometimes i have to manually activate quests through my quest log (like when i entered the first oblivion gate, i was wandering around aimlessly and THEN i decided "is there a quest log?" and found it... Also some of the stuff they phrase i would say aswell. Keep in mind i just started the game, and i played Fallout 3 first so i'm more used to that (also fuck you imperial gaurds and your telepathic powers)
The unicorn is so damn hardcore. I stumbled upon it while walking in the woods and killed its two minotaur guards, and the thing just sorta charged at me and attacked. I didn't want to kill it, so I ran away. It chased me all the way to an inn, and killed a bear along the way. Finally I come back outside to see if it was still there. It had its back turned, so I hopped on its back and rode around a bit. When I got off later, it bolted toward the nearest deer and killed it. Now it follows me everywhere when I fast travel. I got on it once and fast traveled to a city. It said he was stabled, but when I walked outside, it murdered the stable keeper and ran the hell out of there. So basically, I have a crazy homicidal unicorn stalker.

There's only one, and it's located east of the Inn of Ill Omen.

It isn't overpowered or anything. Also, the reason it probably gave you a different quest was because closing the gate wasn't strictly part of your original quest, even though you need to do it [sp]to get to Martin[/sp]
hahaha awesome. any specific locations you can find unicorns or are they just anywhere?
That's pretty much the only one in Cyrodiil, and in order to complete Hircine's Daedric Quest, you need to kill it and bring it's horn to Hircine's shrine.
There are easier ways to kill it than just attacking it though, if you're clever.
The interactive map on the UESP site just updated in a big way FYI. http://www.oblivionmap.net/ :buddy:
A unicon? Wow guess i didn't go exploring much..I better go out and look for it.
its right across the road from the INN of ill Omen, down in that valley area
Had to reinstall when I saw this thread, after I was done setting up FCOM and about 20 other mods besides, I took this panorama: Click for full size. Also, I can't seem to get AA+HDR working with my HD5850, Forceware seemed to do a better job of forcing AA in games than Catalyst.
