And now it's going to get really popular among the more watched you-tube stars and will pick up enough attention to get a lot of sales.
Did anyone actually buy this god awful game?

Also my thread got moved to the Revelations 2012 Sub-forum so I suggest reading it before it gets deleted by the butt-anguished devs (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2684290)
Why does this remind me all too much of G-String?
The thing with Gstring is that a ton of dev time was put in. The mod is something like 12 hours long and there is an LP with like 65 episodes or something. I don't think he half assed it, but his skills with modeling aren't too good.

Also, I'll be doing a let's play of this trainwreck.

This looks like something on the old IDtech engine.
I kind of want to play this with other fpers just to bask in it's terribleness but at the same time I don't want to support the devs for making such an awful game.
oh god what do I do

yeah, if anyone was dumb enough to go for the game when it was 20 bucks you'll have 3 extra copies.
so feel free to redeem yourself by giving us copies of this horrible game :v:
If anyone also wants to give me a copy for review, I'll post it up on Screened.com. My username is Megafat on that site if you want to read my reviews.
I really hope the only reason people even try to defend this insultingly abysmal game and shitty developers is because they're those kinds of kids that immediately go into denial of anything being bad about a game that they bought themselves due to the fear of feeling buyer's remorse. I was willing to give the developers the benefit of the doubt, but Jesus H. Christ, it's like their brains developed to about the age of 15 or 16 years old and just stopped.
Their company name would have been considered cheeseball in the early 90's, let alone nowadays, nobody on their development team has an inkling of game developing talent, they probably only read the threads for the game on the forums that they have authority over, because those are the only places that they can delete any posts that might criticize the game in any way, and even after just about everyone with a small bit of taste called them out for being lazy, talentless developers without any sense of how to develop a game, they stay in such denial of their 2-years-in-the-making magnum opus having anything bad about it that they think that the few kids in denial of their awful purchase saying that their game is great somehow outweighs everyone else saying that it's a steaming pile of shit.
The game is quickly becoming ranked down there with Superman 64 as one of the worst commercial releases of gaming history, and they still have the gall to pretend like it's some amazing action co-op shooter. I know I'm nerd raging like hell right now, but just licensing the Source engine should not be enough to get your shitty game on the Steam store.
Your thread is kinda stupid. It's like you want valve to look at the game and say "hey, they stole our code", when they already licensed the engine and ai director etc. And you are also accusing valve of not even looking at the game. Valve is not run by one fat man. He is just the face. I won't be buying the game because it doesn't look very good. But to say "hey valve remove this because it's like left 4 dead 2" is ridiculous.
(also, the .exe is not called left 4 dead 2.exe - that was in the beta video, when they were modding it. So they definitely did use a lot of code from left 4 dead 2, but they also licensed it, so I'm not sure what your point of the thread is).
Why are you guys buying this and giving them money, wtf.
Good fucking job suppoting the terrible game that you just spent a week calling shit.
I read the SPUF thread linked one page ago.
I think I lost a few good brain cells.

I'm too lazy to go back and find the l4d.exe reference, but I'm well aware that Valve isn't solely run by Gabe- I'm not that naive. If you'd have read the entire thread you'd have known I said at one point that 'Valve may have made a mistake' not 'Valve didn't look at it'.
Also having a license to the source engine =/= owning the game entirely, if you're going to bring up the license argument you'd better damn well have proof that they can use L4D in its entirety otherwise your point is null.
I like blind fury on the web.
But well im off to enjoy and continue enjoying my copy of this wonderful gem that is easily going to be overlooked in the gaming history jess like One Unit Whole Blood.

lol
not a hint of irony
Well, I am assuming that since it is on Steam, owned by Valve, who licensed them the engine, and who reviewed it prior to putting it online, then they didn't use any assets whether they be code, art, sound or other assets, that they hadn't licensed.
It is derivative. Too derivative.
Were you alive in 1993? Hexen, Heretic, Strife etc all used the Doom II engine. The menus were identical, some of the art assets were even shared (in strife and heretic), and those games suffered the same limitations as doom. Effectively, they were doom mods. But they weren't doom, even though about 90% of the code would have been similar, with some modifications and new assets.
Same deal here. It is derivative, very much so, but it is all legal. The real issue is that the game looks bad, and they tried to sell it for $20. The issue isn't that they are selling it on steam and stealing valves work right under their noses. Because they aren't. If anything, Valve have made more money from the licensing then these guys will ever make on the game.
Even the source license page says that when they license it, they get consultation with valve
http://source.valvesoftware.com/licensing.php
(the source engine is rumoured to be around $200,000 to license.)
fake edit : I just noticed that if you license the source engine, you get to keep 100% of profits from your steam sales. In other words, valve gets no cut of the steam sales)
Played through the first level with a friend until the game crashed.
It actually is fun with friends, it has a silly charm. Main issue is animations, and map design. There are huge open areas for no reason.
I recorded it all and it was pretty fun. Will be editing it up and posting it soon.

I had no idea you were a nutritionist.
I hope that more professional critics like IGN etc will review it now, the more bad scores the better.
I would normally feel sorry for people who worked hard on this game for 2 years but the fact that they are charging money for this + deleting critcism comments on the forums just makes me not care anymore.
that's almost bad enough to be good
best game 2012

It's pretty funny to take a look at this and see that the team is actually pretty big in indie standards.
Then looking at this

these 6 guys made amnesia the dark descent, game that is widely believed to be one of the best indie games ever made and the scariest game ever made.
