oh boy. How about a boss that mumbles words that makes you go insane and shoot your teammates ;) Actually that could make a awesome boss.

We don't hate him. We just don't need him saying what he is saying.
Is he known personally to the dev team? Or just some fanboy?
Is he known personally to the dev team? Or just some fanboy?
Just a fanboy.
I'm not good with titles but I bought you one.
I haven't done HTML in like 5 years.
Supermoose:
Sort out the employment thing, please. Either tell people on the website that the positions are unpaid, or stop asking for "3+ years industry experience". There is no reason why any professional should work with you. You need people with modding experience to join your mod team. You are not a business.
I'm finding the news about your ex-employees a bit hard to swallow as well. All these people are proudly on the About page as you promote the game, and then one of them is caught out pretending to be a fan. Oh, he's not working with us anymore. In fact, he's not been working with us for well over a year, so in a sense his opinions are valid because he hasn't seen the game in so long. Please.
People asked you about Doug Hoogland on Interlopers, and you replied that he (the only member of your team with any reputation) also hasn't been working with you since October last year. So it was, what, an oversight to leave him on the site? Like you had so much else to do launching the game that nobody thought to update the site when they were, uh, doing the updates? When things went wrong, did you not have enough respect for him to remove him from the site at last, to save him the embarrassment of being connected with Revelations 2012?
And I'm also expected to believe, after seeing Stixmaster's 9/10 review on Metacritic, that he's completely unconnected to you and he's just been a fanboy from Day 1 somehow? Like he was waiting for it to drop?
You seem to be the only person on the team with any decency or honesty at all, so I can easily believe that pressures of loyalty might have boxed you in here, but I can't buy these stories.

What did you buy?
What did you buy?
Look under your username. Now it says "I WARNED YOU ABOUT MAYANS BRO!!!!". That's a title. It's a quote based on SBHJ comics.

Well it's better than the title that some random guy bought me :v:

The head guy of the company is always busy. So he hasn't had much time to edit the website. I will inform him to change some things on it though.
I'm not hear to fill you with false stories. So if you choose to not believe the things I say then so be it. Ken was only with us for a year before he moved back to ohio to be with his wife and daughter.
How would it be a embarrassment to Doug? He didn't bring hardly anything to the table for us. Here is one of his maps he made for us: http://imgur.com/QakW5
Stixmaster is 100% fanboy. I don't know what to tell you.
I can honestly say it has been very tough for me to work for this company because I'm the younger brother and son even though i'm 23 years old. It's been hard to give my opinions on things just because of that. Since I am also a up to date gamer. So I knew what was good and bad about this game.

I do know that feeling, considering how most of the projects I have worked on I am always the youngest developer :v:
What do you mean by hard to give your opinions, they didn't listen to you're opinions because you were younger than most ? If that's what you meant, then that's quite bad. It seems like you were the only person on the team who thought that the game was flawed.

There were a few others that thought the same as I did but we didn't put in the godly insane hours that they did. They would be at the office from wake to sleep. So it got hard for them to listen. Also feelings would get hurt if something was said about something not being fun. I found that out the hard way.

Frankly if that's the case then the fault is at them, one of the things about being a developer is having to learn to take criticism. I know it sucks to work hard on something and then have someone come up to you and say that it's not fun or it isn't great but that's the way the things are.
It's actually pretty sad to hear that people put so much time into this and the result turned out like that.

I gotta hand it to you Supermoose (if it really is you), you and the devs seems to be really nice guys who had a dream. But unfortunetly it didn't hold at the end, though I really appreciate you guys trying atleast.
Why did you ruin perfectly fine l4d2 source code? How did it feel to modify it while it was screaming in pain and agony? Do you feel any guilt you MONSTER!

Thank you :) I think we have found some people to actually help us out with improving our game.

You will have to ask the programmer about that question ;)

That moment when the only decent enough development skill I have is texturing :suicide:
That moment when the only decent enough development skill I have is texturing :suicide:
We do need better textures. A lot of them look good far away until you get right up on them. They pixel out.
I'd offer to help, but I have my own project to worry about.
I really wouldn't be qualified for it anyway, as a modeller, I'm really only decent with props and weapons. And as a programmer, my strength is C#, not C++. And my only experience with the Source Engine is compiling models for Team Fortress 2.

I can understand that point very well. But on the other hand I had to learn myself that fancy words don't cover up the truth - and won't improve the actual result in any way. I think honesty is necessary to make something better, but it has to be realistic and not just slapped in the face of someone who maybe spend a lot of time in it. I surely respect the work you guys put in the game - and as a person that isn't that good at modding himself I surely know that I probably wouldn't have done it any better. But there is no point in crying over spilled milk, right? I think you can work with the critics you've gotten and improve from that point.
This game doesn't want me to cringe.
No, it wants me to cringe and barf at the same time, thus make me roll around in the barf.

If you weren't busy with your own project. I would say we need a prop and weapon modeler :)

Releasing this game has open up our eyes. To me its very refreshing even how hard that is to believe. :)

I bet that. So, what are your plans to improve the actual game? I CAN see there is quite potential in this game and after giving a thought of the old "painkiller" game I'm able to see the possibility of making more out of this game. Yet I'd like to know where you guys be heading.

We are about to discuss more of that in a office meeting. There is 3 major thinks we want to work on first though.
1. Polish up the levels. Make each one have a theme, better pathing, better textures.
2. UI art. We want to make this game feel not so much like l4d!!!
3. Throw out the single morphing weapon. Bring in 5 new weapons, off-hand items "alien grenade ;)" and melee weapons.

That's nice. I think you guys know what your game needs. Maybe you should at least take a look at the bosses since they're somewhat... awkward, considering the movies on youtube I've seen.
But aside from that I think the variety of weapons will surely benefit the game the most at this point. I will definitely take a look at it.
