I'm a relatively new mapper, and im looking to port CS:S maps to CS:GO, and the one im starting with is cs_assault. This is just the map with no work in hammer though, it needs LOTS of work, the thing is, im not entirely sure how to get certain models/materials to work, so could FP give me any assistance? there isn't there a cs go version of assault yet?

Regardless, im still wanting to port this map to CS:GO, along with wait HOLY SHIT i accidentally recorded vent on the video i made.

Well this asshole killed me right at the start of the round for no reason whatsoever. I stood there watching the screen like a braindead person, beholding in rage what he had done. I have no idea why, it pissed me off to no end very deeply.

Just work through them slowly and when you feel ready make something cool.

So I think CS:GO is using the .vpk system. According to a person on the CS:GO SDK Mailing List, you can pack all your map content into the .vpk and then put it in the addons folder and it'll work. Works the same for reskins of weapons and models I assume?
Say someone were to make new CT/T models. Would it be possible to make a map use these models without having them replace a default model? I'd need a mapper to reply to this. I just think it'd be badass to have maps with new CT/T's.

Maps DO work through VPK. I downloaded that lego map from Gamebanana (which by the way is too big for Arsenal), and it appeared in the menu and everything. Even had a loading screen. Problem is, the map didn't have a picture in the level selection. It used the "random map" image.
Anyone know how to add the new effects from csgo? I'm looking for the fog and lighting and stuff. [editline]6th May 2012[/editline] In hammer.
