Guys, where did you find the player models? Can't find the vpk, all I've got are some strange acf's with names like appmanifest_(number) that weigh 1 KB.

I checked there a lot of times, no "player" folder there.
You're looking for the VPK in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo. Open up pak01_dir.vpk with GCFScape, and then you can go to models/players in that to see the models.

Probably, but why would you want to? It would be a lot of effort because of how the CS:GO ones work, and they look better than 8 year old CSS ones.

they don't look better. they might have more polygons and a bigger texture. but they absolutely do not look better.

In your opinion. I for one like the new models, sure they could be better but they at least fit in more than the CSS ones would.

The only thing that is sort of wrong (IMO) with the CS:GO models (and thats some of them for some points) is:
Almost no weapon bob, which makes it a bit... weird and maybe boring
Weird positioning on the screen, almost disapearing in the case of some weapons
Reloading, and visual recoil, as every pistol has the same reload making them boring and some weapons seem to have no visual recoil. The desert eagle used to fly backwards, now it has less visual recoil than any other gun, which looks absolutely BAD and is somewhat decieving
Else, the models are ok.
Animations are the weak points of the viewmodels while the models themselves are passable.
Why not just take the CS:S viewmodels, touch 'em up a notch to be on-par and up to date visually (and maybe fix a few quirks in their animations), and then rig them to the CS:GO arms? I mean, this is just an idea and it's a hell of a lot harder than it sounds, but just putting the thought out there.
