I'm having that problem too. You can still use the community server option but I've noticed that I can't use my mouse in the menu screens. I have to use my arrows and enter key to get things going. Once I'm in the game though my mouse works fine.
So after playing CSGO with the friend I gave the beta to (sorry guys looking for an invite), I must say: Although I like the game as a game and an FPS, I do not like the game as a Counter-Strike. To clarify, I do not feel any Counter-Strike within the game: it feels more like a COD with no Ironsights, that being said, as an FPS I do enjoy it. I do feel, however, that being more fast-paced that 1.6 (my usual go-to CS) while I don't mind sitting in spectate in 1.6 (it being so much more slow-paced IMO), I ironically hate sitting in spectate in a more fast-paced game like CSGO.
Just got this yesterday, I like it a lot so far. My main issue with it is the lack of custom/preset load outs. I don't like having to navigate through the buy menu every round.

To connect to a game through the server browser yet keep your mouse:
1. Find the server you'd like to join
2. View the server's info
3. Copy the server's IP
4. (Enable Dev. Console if you have not done so) Open the console (`/~ button)
5. Enter "Connect (paste server IP here)" minus the parenthesis and quotes, and hit enter
This is the only one I've been able to connect to a server in which I want to join rather than the game wants me to join, and still be able to keep my crosshairs. However, my game crashes when I try to join a team with more than 5 human players.

CS_Motel is probably the best map on there and should be considered for an official map.

I actually had a vivid dream last night that I logged onto Steam and got a popup telling me I had a beta key. I got confused as to whether I dreamt it or not so I checked and I was disappointed haha

How are you supposed to use the console?
My keyboard doesn't have a tilde key, and when I use the -console launch command, the console disappears when I click outside of it.

Umm I thought the beta was open for everyone or something since I just now got it. Guess not. Weird. I didn't know I was even trying to get it.

restarted steam, and nothing. Probably just left over from the first one.
Got this yesterday. So far it seems to be CS:S with prettier graphics and somewhat different weapons. I like it.
Damn, the beta's nearly unplayable. Half a second lag to everything I do and it feels like it's running at 20 fps. With AMD Phenom II X2 555, GTX 560 and around 3 gigs of RAM, it shouldn't be my computer.

e: When I play, fps is locked at 10. When I die and I get that second-long kill screen or whatever, it goes up to 60.. And then back to 10 when I spawn. Great. Help greatly appreciated.
First thing I notice about the beta is that bullets either miss completely or I'm landing headshots here and there. It's still really fun though and look forward to playing it more.

When you're in the console bind "console" to another key.

Turns out that dm-1on1-roughinery from UT2k3/4 has a pretty nice layout for AR.
Gonna work on this and polish it beyond recognition, I should go for the aztec / jungle style, right? Thats the most fitting I guess.

Anyone else find the bots really accurate? Half way across the map I get headshotted with some smg when they're on easy.
They also like to get stuck in doors.

nvm, verified cache and it worked again.
Does anyone else have a problem with their mouse not registering on the menus? When I actually do get in game I can move my player around but I can't choose anything in the menus without my arrow keys.
