If you think about it, it's like Starcraft to Starcraft 2 - not much different, but with balance and mechanic tweaks along with a handful of new content, it changes a lot of the deeper details of the gameplay like strategies and such while still seeming the 'same' on the surface to those who don't bother with that and just play to play.
Of course, in this case the technological jump between CS:S and CS:GO isn't as large as SC to SC2.
I'd say the technology jump is like going from CS 1.6 to CS:GO.
In other news, am I the only one who noticed how nerfed the deagle has become (so far)?

It's been nerfed?
it was probably my favorite weapon in Source, especially in indoor maps
The big thing imo with CS:GO is that body health has been toned down a lot. You're no longer a tank at your torso. Even with full kevlar, bodyshots are a very viable (and often necessary) option.
Also,

Seems like a console command but not sure if it's actually going to be used or added.

Most of the time you're gonna get pounded while using a deagle, at least to my experiences. I've had a much easier time in the previous games when using the deagle. Though I'm way better with AWP than in previous CS games, so I can't really say for sure yet.
Two and a half months in and still no update.
I want the next update to include gungame and support for more than 10 players.
It would be nice if the CTs deagle were replaced by a revolver; 6 bullets but as powerful as the deagle but something that made up for the loss of a bullet (Maybe the deagle could lower your speed by 10, but this does not lower it? Also this could make less noise then the deagle?). I love the concept of stealing weapons, but there is no reason to steal someones weapon if you have a copy of it yourself (deagle to deagle, for instance). The only wep I am frequently stealing is the AK as a CT and taking AWPs from dead enemies.
Gun: Revolver
Damage: Equal to deagle
Weight: Less then deagle
Reload time: 2.1 (Make deagle 2.4)
Draw time: 0.25 less then deagle
Price: 800$
Accuarcy: Better then deagle, but higher recoil maybe?
I would also love two versions of the AWP. One with 5 bullets and 230 walking speed, and one (the "normal" one) with 10 bullets and 220 (or 210??) walking speed.
Also, I hope they make the rifles more equal in usefulness. I would for example like to see a rifle with 41 bullets with equal damage to the AK, but worse accuracy (A bit better then MP5) and a bit less recoil. (Just a bit, like the M4A1 but a bit more). And of course; 500-750$ higher price. This rifle could be perfect for close combat and for defending something. Also new players may feel like they can use this gun well. It could replace the Krieg I think, as it is almost no use in buying it. Also, I feel like this gun can be used in a competitive scene, for its high damage and high number of bullets. It could be bought when a CT is holding A on inferno alone, and need to be able to fire many bullets a stop a potential rush.
Rifle: [Name here]
Damage: Equal to AK
Weight: Higher then AK (10 less walking speed then AK)
Reload time: 3.5 (0.5 higher then AK)
Price: 3250$ (150$ Higher then Colt, 750$ higher then the current AK price)
Bullets: 41
RPM: Between AK and Colt
Accuarcy: A bit worse the Colt
I think a revolver would be more fitting to give to the terrorists.
And it would have worse rate of fire and reloading time obviously.

Yes, I know :/ But it needs something that can make it better then the deagle. A bit higher damage maybe? Or is that OP?
Edit: By better I mean equally good, but changes that can make it preferred by some people.
Edit2: Like the Colt and AK
Higher damage sounds okay as long as you can't shoot as fast as the deagle.

Maybe some accuracy tweaks too.

And revolvers are generally louder than standard pistols just because of how open the cylinder is.

Yeah, I thought about higher accuracy but also worse recoil. And what about a silencer? It can make up for the high price of 800 then I think.
Silencers generally don't work on revolvers. There's like 2 revolvers that exist (out of production though) that can use silencers.

:D Ok. Let it be priced at 600$.
Thinking about revolvers with silencers got me thinking. I'd like to see some exotic guns to be included in CS:GO, and have them extremely expensive with no ammo available for purchase.
Like gyrojet pistols, and a sniper rifle that uses the .950 JDJ round.

But the gyrojet was complete shit, unusable at short range and incredibly inaccurate at longer range
It would still be funny to see someone get killed by something like that in CS.
I'm sure it is many weapons that would be cool to have in cs:go but the guns in counter-strike is based on wich guns the special forces actully use.

Seems like the Zeus X27 (the taser) fits that role.
that's funny, because that's exactly what dota 2 is.
same core game but with more fluff.
Difference being, dota1 isn't really playable anymore, looks way too shitty.

"oh noo it looks like shit so it means it's unplayable"
I want a damn beta key, valve :saddowns:

Yes but they can always add more.
I'd love to see a .950 JDJ sniper rifle that can penetrate through huge thick walls. The downsides would be you get only 2-3 rounds, massive reload time, and firing it does 10 damage to yourself. (seriously, firing the thing irl can break a rib or two).

I don't mean to sound like a rude person but your ideas sound like something you add in just for fun, and Valve wouldn't do that for CS, they added in the taser as a humiliation weapon but other than that they wouldn't add in some novelty weapon
well the taser is a short-range humiliation weapon, why not add a long range one?
Is this out yet?
I really wish they would improve the animations for Counter-Strike. TF2's animations are great, they look natural and feel natural. Counter-strike's is just odd and looks weird.
I'd like CS to have BF3 animations.
except the 3rd person reload animations, those are incredible in CS:GO.
I think the running animations looks pretty smooth.
I meant the firstperson animations, I'm fine with everything else but the viewmodels have an unnatural movement for me.
