Except then it would not be CS zombie mode, it would be CoD / Killing Floor / whatever clone.
If the zombies were not push back then it would mean humans would have to constantly run or zombies would have to constantly respawn. Either way seems unappealing. Push back zombies adds to the feeling of helplessness as you cannot (or it is very difficult to) kill them and also keeps the flow of the game going.
You need to try a limited ammo escape server like SG ZE. It doesn't have any zombie classes, they all go slightly faster than humans to make it interesting, have high HP and low knockback.

And one other thing (not sure if late though) if you go to Options and then Gameplay Settings you can see the Xbox buttons on the bottom for a split second.
Destroyed in a 3v3 game just before. Using the Negev I managed to get over 50% of the kills. My two team mates were shit though.

Dont forget that the actual configuration that you usually find is crap. I saw some zombie escape servers where the ammo is limited, and most of the time you see the humans running and defend themselves with their knives. And those zombies didnt had knockback or short health.
Everything depends of the configuration. For example i had a little server with zombiemod that it was very popular, because it had infinite ammo, classic good maps, prop spawn and useful zombie classes (not the typical speed or classic zombie).
What is clear is that if you are going to set limited ammo, you cant put to the zombies a long health, but sadly, the admins of the servers of today are more worried about how to put ads in their servers rather than the configuration of it.
Personally i want that zm become official, but allowing to the server admins configure it. Variety is the spice.

I've came across several map and strategical issues among other bot AI issues that I'd like to let them know about, even if others have already told them about these it's nice if more than one person chimes in on issues

I love the Mag-7 but I think I prefer the sawed-off as my favorite shotgun. The Tec-9 has definitely replaced the Deagle as my pistol of choice now, good power, accuracy, and a magazine that absolutely dwarfs the deagle's? Yes please!

Definitely my favorite loadout on most maps, the sawed off is wonderful for close combat and the tec-9 is surprisingly effective at medium range

This will probably sound incredibly stupid, but is there any kind of LAN play and/or a way to have a friends-only game with bots at the moment? I haven't really looked into this game a whole lot, but I recently received an invite.
