WOO just got the beta key! All systems are GO!
WOO just got the beta key! All systems are GO!
Congrats!
WOO just got the beta key! All systems are GO!
i'm still begging for one. :/
Why is it this thread is the most organized, i.e. people are trying to keep it on topic, when compared to fucking Half-Life 3 discussion thread over there. Hell, even the Jaykin' Bacon thread isn't this organized
WOO just got the beta key! All systems are GO!
200 hours in CSS and I still don't have a key. :(
I really don't think your amount of playtime is Valve's criteria for getting an invite, unless it's really note worthy. My assumption is that they're trying to test it out on different varieties of hardware. Don't quote me on that, though.

Otherwise they wouldn't be taking hardware surveys. As for playtime, no, I don't really think it matters.
200 hours in CSS and I still don't have a key. :(
They really don't care about how much time you've played. Theres people who never touched any counter strike game and got into the beta, only to sell the key though...
200 hours in CSS and I still don't have a key. :(
I remember the devs saying at one point that if they took game time into consideration there would always be at least 10,000 people with more game time that most people, or something like that. But game time has nothing to do with getting into the beta. The time that you did the hardware survey and your hardware is all that matters. I know I did the hardware survey the day it came out in the afternoon, and didn't get into the beta until earlyish May.

By giving keys out to people who are new to CS they get feedback from a bigger (and probably more useful) set of players.
Anyone got a spare DOTA 2 key? Willing to trade a CSGO beta key.
200 hours in CSS and I still don't have a key. :(
200 hours isnt long at all compared to other people who dont have it.

Else we would have some sort of cross between Source and 1.6, with most elements from 1.6.
is Valve realy going to open the beta??
Yes.
is Valve realy going to open the beta??
No they're lying to everyone including journalists.
Lol I have/had 12 hours of gameplay for CS:S like 2 hours for for Condition Zero and 40 mins for CS. and I got one so Valve is pretty much down to the hardware. (the ones who meet the criteria in processing power or fall a bit short can get keys but the more unique your PC hardware is the more Valve wants to give you a key) And my specs are 2.40ghz dual core Intel i3 processor integrated graphics SRS premium sound.(it's a 14" laptop) So my computer is pretty weak yet I got a key
I think I have never posted here before, so let me start off with a stupid question: Does anyone know if Valve said whether there will be more maps?
I think I have never posted here before, so let me start off with a stupid question: Does anyone know if Valve said whether there will be more maps?
Well Valve at the very least confirmed a zombie mode, so we know there will definitely be maps for that, and Valve said that there would be a certain amount of maps on release, which implies that some will be coming after release
I think I have never posted here before, so let me start off with a stupid question: Does anyone know if Valve said whether there will be more maps?
They usually do add maps every beta update, Technically yes.
They usually do add maps every beta update, Technically yes.
I've seen a couple of updates and there were no new maps introduced. I really do hope for a comeback of assault, vertigo and militia. [editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
Well Valve at the very least confirmed a zombie mode, so we know there will definitely be maps for that[...]
Could it be that CS:GO is meant to really compete with CoD? I mean, okay, the game is still a lot different, but CoD Black Ops (if I'm not mistaking) has a Zombie Mode too. And a friend of mine told me that BlackOps has something very similar to Arsenal mode.

Zombie mod was also a counter-strike mod made way before any of the cod games that have zombies in them.

every game that has had chet faliszek as its spokesperson so far has fell short of any post-release update content promises that he made
