Am I the only who likes that? Maybe I don't like seeing a guy wearing winter camo on a middle eastern map?
maybe different model skins you can choose for different maps in the selection screen?
That's neat. Valve needs to fix the GIGN on de_nuke though. If you don't get what I mean: de_nuke is set in germany, yet the CT playermodels are the GIGN.
Yeah, that's just a temporary thing. So in terms of costume selection, I had a thought. Will they let you pick factions in casual, but not in comp?
Am I the only who likes that? Maybe I don't like seeing a guy wearing winter camo on a middle eastern map?
I always chose the Arctic on dust. :v:
I always chose the Arctic on dust. :v:
I can't wait to have Spetsnaz vs. Artic Avengers on de_vostok. Actually wouldn't Spetsnaz make sense on de_train as well?
De_Train seems to have German signs. Unless I'm wrong...
De_Train seems to have German signs. Unless I'm wrong...
A lot of text there is written in russian, I even send this picture a long ago to the devs but I don't think they've fixed it. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/csgo3.png[/t]
A lot of text there is written in russian, I even send this picture a long ago to the devs but I don't think they've fixed it.
Are you part of the Russian STS? Maybe you could tell them through that?
Are you part of the Russian STS? Maybe you could tell them through that?
I tried translating stuff a couple of times but gee, sometimes they use untranslatable words and you have to make up your own stuff without knowing the subject at all.
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36747491/csgos.png[/thumb] A middle eastern house I made to test the CS:GO SDK.
Here's a tip to get nice domes, a better method than using the Sphere brush tool: make a block brush, turn it into displacements, and click subdivide. Bam! Insta-sphere/dome. Oh hey pageking, here's some content: a repost of a video of my map (vid is darker than ingame, mind you):
I'm pretty sure Valve is going to change decals if they change the CT faction. Although Spetznaz vs Phoenix (Russians too) would fit the Train greatly with the current decals.
I tried translating stuff a couple of times but gee, sometimes they use untranslatable words and you have to make up your own stuff without knowing the subject at all.
What do you mean? Strings or decals?
Somebody go remake a map from SWAT 4.
I am already working on that for a month now, but since I'm still waiting for my beta key, It's nothing but a dev map at the moment.
Do you guys think this game will take over the esport scene?
What do you mean? Strings or decals?
Huh? I was translating some stuff for the steam store, unfortunately. Don't know how to do it for other games.
A lot of text there is written in russian, I even send this picture a long ago to the devs but I don't think they've fixed it. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/csgo3.png[/t]
Well, a while back i read somewhere that all the arabic stuff in dust is just gibberish so i don't think they really care about the wall written stuff.
this has probably been asked a thousand times but what are the system requirements? i could run portal 2 pretty well.
this has probably been asked a thousand times but what are the system requirements? i could run portal 2 pretty well.
Then you'll be able to run cs:go with no problems.
Game isn't very optimized at this point, so worse computers (such as mine) can expect fps drops.
Game isn't very optimized at this point, so worse computers (such as mine) can expect fps drops.
I've heard people say that it runs perfectly on their old PCs, guess it depends on the specific things.
I've heard people say that it runs perfectly on their old PCs, guess it depends on the specific things.
It depends on what you have selected in the video menu obviously. For me, after some updates game worked perfectly on high settings (when we could only play Inferno 24/7), but sometimes it was a nightmare to play on (last year's stress test)
Do de_ maps seem a bit... silly to anyone else? You want to stop the terrorists from planting the bomb, but the bomb never seems to be placed near anything valuable. Quite often it is in a wide-open space, and even when it explodes there isn't any environmental damage. Unlike in hostage maps, where hostages themselves are worthy of the battle. Maybe I should just have fun with the game.
For character selection they could just allow you to choose the different skins that correspond to the maps. But honestly I think we should be allowed to choose whatever skin we want on any map, it's not CS if you don't see a terrorist running around a dessert map with snow camo.

Isn't that good enough? It doesn't make sense on some maps, because then the CTs would rather have to destroy those ammo dumps on both Dusts :v: Unless the weapons belong to the CT.

Maybe they're saving that up for release though!
Then you'll be able to run cs:go with no problems.
I can max out Portal 2 with a really good framerate, but CS:GO runs like shit on the lowest settings.
I can max out Portal 2 with a really good framerate, but CS:GO runs like shit on the lowest settings.
That's funny because it's almost the opposite for me. Portal 2 for some reason had lag issues and I run CS:GO maxed.
It's in a beta so Valve obviously hasn't gotten a huge amount of time to optimize it. I'm sure on release or at least in updates after it Valve will patch it like they do other games.
I think you all don't understand how optimization works. You don't just go «optimize» your game once it's done, It's something you do when you are implementing something in the engine. There is no reason they go and «optimize» the engine later, unless they are implementing a better way of doing something (which can happen, but it's not really common).
