I'm gonna camp the hostages.
For how long will the Beta be up?
Until August 21.
Needs more maps.
Needs portals
I'm sad the SDK doesn't include world portal entities. Imagine custom AIM maps with mindfucking layouts, like Marathon's "5D Space" map, made with those magnificent world portals.

I wonder when valve is going to fix the env_wind and the weapon entities.
I wonder when valve is going to fix the env_wind and the weapon entities.
Indeed. I wanted to remake some classic fy_ maps, only to find I couldn't spawn those damned weapons. Until they fix it, though, I'm content making ScoutzKnivez maps, seeing as the entities to spawn players with pre-defined loadouts do work properly.
Link/Screenshots?
I can find no videos or screenshots of the map. However, the Marathon trilogy is now freeware. Just google "Aleph One" (it's an emulator engine for Marathon games on Windows, it was originally a Mac title) and download it if you want to see the map for yourself. Mapping for Marathon, being very similar to Doom, worked in a two-dimensional way. In a top-down view, a mapper draws sectors (each sector is a room or corridor with certain assigned floor heights, ceiling heights and textures) to carve out a layout for a map. Due to the 2.5D nature of the game, it is normally technically impossible to have two rooms above one another. A glitch exists on Marathon's engine that allows a mapper to circumvent this limitation and not only place two different spaces above each other, but also THROUGH each other. The resulting effect is very similar to the world portal entities in Portal 2: though the rooms intersect each other spatially, they do not interfere with one another in any way in-game, which allows a mapper to create what appears to be a four-dimensional map (or even five-dimensional, as Bungie calls it). Rather than fix this glitch, Bungie decided to use it to make what is in my opinion one of the most creatively designed multiplayer maps ever: 5D Space! If I recall correctly, there was one area in 5D Space with rows of pillars, and in between some of these pillars was a "portal" leading into a different overlapping room. It truly boggles the mind. Just take a look at the intersecting, overlapping map overview:

I even found one which is placed quite obviousin Portal 2.

Coolio, that new version of Nuke adds back in that tunnel that leads into the labs (Forgot what it's called) but it's moved to face outers so you can't just run right in as CT
I wonder if Valve is going to update the beta before the release. Maybe they want to hold the best features for the last?
I wonder if Valve is going to update the beta before the release. Apparently, they're aiming for early next week, and patch notes are very very long (20 pages).
Open beta + preorder maybe? (a man can dream)
Idk about that, I'm guessing it will be around/after the update comes out for pre-orders.
patch notes are very very long (20 pages).
What the flipping fuck. This sounds amazing.
Psyched. Love the game as it is, can't wait to see what it'll have now.
What the flipping fuck. This sounds amazing.
Apparently, the 20 pages refer to the complete code change notes - in other words, the notes before they are edited down into the update notes you're used to seeing. Should still be big though!
Open beta + preorder maybe? (a man can dream)
Will preorder asap, even if I suck at this one.

I can't wait for the full release of this game, it will be a glorious day!
I still have not got invited :( I think I answered eevrything wrong. :(
Does anyone know where I can pre order this game for Playstation 3? Because I can't seem to find any websites that will let me pre order it, even sites like Play.com, Game.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk don't have it?
Tonight's the night?

Is the PS3 copy going to let me get the PC copy?
Tonight's the night?
Tonight's the night for more waiting.
So, when is the night? If there is a night...
