It seems like they de-emphasized gun superiority from 1.6 and CS:S. The AK47 and M4A1 are no longer the best assault rifles one always springs for if they don't want to snipe with the AWP, the Deagle got a little downgraded so that the other pistols are actually relevant, and so forth. Makes one actually try out the other weapons instead of just sticking to the 'best', so far anyway.
If I live in the UK and have the game pre-purchased should I expect a beta key at midnight? Is there any word at all when they're going out?

I prefer the Tec-9 to the Deagle. That extra ammo more than makes up for the decreased power and accuracy. Many times I've used the Tec-9 past the pistol round and killed SMG and assault rifles users with it, especially in close range.
Pre-purchased the game today and bought a GTX 550 Ti to replace my old 9300 GS. This is gonna be fun.

I never really was a hardcore CS player but my brother did play few tournaments. From him I learned that it was all about the Deagle, M4, AK47 and AWP.

I noticed someone gave me a disagree on being able to change the viewmodel positioning in the options. Well, if you go to Help & Options and Game Options, you can change the Viewmodel Positioning between Classic, Desktop and Couch.
Oddly enough, the Couch setting, despite sticking everything the closest to your face, has the Dual Berettas properly aligned to the center of the screen and such; Desktop shows more of the weapons than Classic does, and both have the dualies misaligned by having them off to the right side for me. My resolution is 1280 x 1024, so not sure if that's the problem or not.
I still like how Valve appeals to both console users and pc users by having those options. They are in the console version as well, and you can change them to desktop or classic if you want.

i think it's because i can't aim for shit, but it's the most satisfying weapon i've used in the game so far
i've found the LMGs to be really useful in maps like dust because i can shoot people through doors

It's pretty accurate. It's good at longer ranges.
If you want a pistol with accuracy why not buy a deagle and one shot everyone to the head?

Some people don't want to drop $800 for the deagle in case they die. I just prefer using the default pistols anyway. Hardly use pistols after the first round, so no point in spending that much for the start.
My internet is getting repaired tomorrow at 4:00pm, so hopefully i'll have a good time playing it.
In the meanwhile i'm waiting for a chance to start downloading it.

Wellllll I just opened CS:GO and took the Tec-9 out for a spin, and I suppose I was wrong. It's an alright starter weapon and the $400 saves enough money for a grenade. I guess they buffed it since early beta, when I used it then it was trash and I never bothered to try it again.
Personally I still would never buy it, I'd either prefer default pistol + kevlar, or dualies/deagle over the tec-9 because the slow fire rate and lack of heavy fire power makes me feel naked

Tec-9 is a one shot to the head, even on armored opponents.
