Wow you're pathetic.. no one wants the last word but you. Yes, please stop.
Anyone actually have any confirmation on it being 10AM or is that their usual time of releasing this kind of stuff?
So I don't really want to read through pages of internet drama about lying and stealing from grandparents, but would it be safe to expect the open beta to go live round 5pm pacific?
It is hard to say. If I remember correctly Valve released left 4 dead 2 at 6:00am from midnight UK time.
But putting that aside this is a different game and also a beta. The best I can suggest is check back every hour. Your guess it as good as mine. Check their twitter as well. I've already posted asking when release will be. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help. https://twitter.com/csgo_dev

It is their usual time for releasing games and updates but it's already about 11:42 am Seattle time.
It's already past 10AM for them so..

I have confirmation on it not being 10am because it is almost 12am.

Well they might have been trying to push it out since 10am, no need for sassy replies.
Right now Valve are probably rushing to get it up and going "fuck, fuck, fuck!"

Hey I saw Gabe in person a few weeks ago for your information and he isn't all that fat. It's probably only a double.
A thread from SPUF had its title changed by a mod to "Expect it around 6pm pacific time"

what the FUCK.

That's on the 15th from anyone else than Americans.
Thanks, that's fucking ridiculous.
Dear FPers, I searched the web and didn't find the solution to my problem, and this thread looks like a good place to ask.
Anyway, I was in the beta for a long time - I got very lucky and received physical invite card with CD-Key printed on it. Now, I am trying to pre-purchase CS:GO, but it says that I already own that game.
Has anybody else encountered something like this? Do I indeed own the game, should I wait till the release or send the ticket to Steam Support?
Thanks in advance.
what the FUCK.
Yeah there are still a few weird bugs in the game. The dualies are fucked up right now (instant switch and reload), guns stand on the ground instead of lying down, ghost footsteps are still a problem, etc.

That's weird. Shoot Steam Support a query.

We Americans don't eat baked beans for breakfast.

Alright so I guess I can start downloading around 6 pm then. I wish they would just have given us a chance to preload before.. I'm worried my connection will be slow.

It happens to around 10% of people who have beta access. You can wait until Valve fixes it or you can ask a friend to buy "for a friend" and it will work.
Oh well, so no CS:GO today.

Meh, it could be worse. I will probably be just going to dinner when it starts.
6PM pacific...
Well, I was hoping to play the beta with you guys at launch but it looks like it's not very possible now :(
Oh well.

Thanks for the answer. I'll just inform Support and wait till they fix it.

but this is glitch almost literally gamebreaking.
The beta is still planned to be released today, August 14th PDT. Unfortunately, we do not have a more specific timeframe at the moment.

We're testing some performance updates based on this weekend's feedback. Will release as soon as we confirm it's all working.
Sounds like they want to push out an update today, along with the open beta.
Sounds like they want to push out an update today, along with the open beta.
Yea, but don't get too excited, it's a performance update. They're probably doing it because they don't want people asking for refunds because of bad performances from day 1... (even if it's still beta, people will argue)

Hey, I'll take a performance update.
They're doing it because they don't want to ship a game with bad performance...refunds are probably not at the top of their worry list right now.
Keep getting a little jump of excitement upon looking at my games list then realizing it is only the "Counter Strike Source Beta".
Fuck.
Well... I walked outside to check the mail and I tripped, and hit the curb and cut my lip open on the curb... This is what I deserve. and there is still no beta. Time to go shower and eat lunch.

Please tell me more. Because ,you know, I obviously care. It's not like I came to this thread to discuss CSGO or anything.
While we're at it, here's my turn. I just ate a sandwich and it was delicious, and I love the CSGO beta!
The reason they're doing this is business related. If they hold off on releasing the beta by a day or few hours nothing will come of it other than hype/a few angry people.
They trade that for a patch. Why a patch? If they release the game with the known bugs from this weekend then those same bugs/tweaks will be noted by Public Beta players. That will cause some people to say the game is bad/broken/laggy/whatever the issues are.
If they do that, it will hurt sales come the official release. The public will care if they hear the game has problems. The public won't care that we are waiting now.
