The sound glitch in de_train is creeping me out
Is that why I keep hearing weird shit on de_train? It's really weird.
Correct me if im wrong but in the early alpha/beta wasnt the defuse animation cts fucking around with pliers or something like in the trailer?
Okay, just saw the trailer. I'm officially hyped, that was pretty great.

Do you mean the wire cutters?
They won't attach the wire cutting animation for gameplay reasons. If you hear someone you can quickly stop and shoot the guy behind you (theoretically). You'd have a chance to fight back.
Wire cutting animation would include picking up the bomb and messing with the wires. And if there's someone behind you, you'd have to stop the animation and then pull out your rifle. You'd be probably dead before firing the first shot.
If we were to include the wire cutting animation, the defusal kit wouldn't make sense. Without it, it takes 10 seconds(?) to defuse. With it, it takes 5 seconds. What would the character do during those 10 seconds, stare at the bomb or what? Would he have wire cutters or not?
Guys, is the bomb model in the trailer new? It looks different than the one in the game.

That model and several others in the trailer are hd and almost certainly unoptimised for actual gameplay, seeing as the final render isn't realtime. Notice how things such as the walls were a lot more detailed than their ingame counterparts, too- as with the tf2 shorts, they made a lot of new assets just for the videos as they can afford to give them more detail in sfm

Trying to break the wires with his fingers before grabbing a tool.

wipe sweat off his brow and try to cut a wire
I don't see them changing the defusing mechanic.
What I'm up to is MP5 (for the love of god!), more maps and characters.
There's also one free slot in the Heavy section.

I'd like to see a slow firing, massive, booming sounding M60 type gun
[editline]18th August 2012[/editline]
but I guess 2 big machine guns is enough
It's really wierd that they held back the mp5.
It's really wierd that they held back the mp5.
Maybe it is a ep3 promo weapon along with some other?
Maybe it is a ep3 promo weapon along with some other?
But the mp7 is the gun in Half-life 2 anyway... why would they
Some people say the MP7 is CS:GO's MP5 equivalent, kinda like how the P2000 is the USP's equivalent. But what Counter-Strike game does not have the MP5? It's one of the iconic CS weapons along with the Deagle, M4, AK47, AWP, etc.
The files are in the game right? I'm sure I've seen pictures around.
I wish they kept the names the same for all the guns a.k.a. CV-47 not AK-47

Yeah, the MP5 has a model and iirc firing animations, I viewed it myself.

The model and animations are in the files, there's a missing smg lost in the smg buy menu, and theres a pic of an MP5 for one of the achievements, my guess is it will be added for launch as a surprise, along with silencers.
i tried to get cs:go for a salvaged mann co crate. i finally got someone to budge and got the item. i activated it onto my account right away but then realized something fishy. it was just the beta. and now im really sad because i didnt actually get the game
I was talking with my friend who is much more into CS and he isn't very impressed. I told him how I like they improved the engine, the shadows. He said that a bit more professional CS player turns off all effects that could distract you or decrease framerate. I, on the other hand, enjoy the graphics and I love how they put more detail into characters. You can see what weapons they have, if they have grenades... Only thing that is missing is noticeable change between no armor and armor but that's maybe too much.
Anyone else having overheating problems or is it just my computer and laptop?
Entering Steam overlay while in game breaks it, can't click on anything.

It doesn't for me, I was just on google looking up stuff with steam overlay.

Do you have the Steam beta?
Do you have the Steam beta?
Nope, lol
I get that sometimes too and I'm not running the steam beta.
oh my god i suck at this game
fun tho
I've been tossing this idea around for a while now (With CS:S), it's basically this.
A largish map based in a smallish town/city in which you (and every other player) spawn in with just a knife (or basic pistol with little ammo), weapons are scattered around the city (Which would be very non-linear) with very little ammo in them, M4 with 25 bullets, etc, it's all against all with no respawns.
It wouldn't work for CS:GO at the moment, due to the buggy FFA mod and the lack of weapon entities in SourceSDK, but does anyone think people would actually play this totally-not-a-copy of battle royale in CS:GO
Only thing that is missing is noticeable change between no armor and armor but that's maybe too much.
I wouldn't hope for it, it's never been there and imagining some of the models without vests makes me think they wouldn't look as nice. Like, imagine they actually had the CTs not wear helmets when they're not wearing them as equipment, it'd look wrong.
