In the last big batch of keys that valve gave out, they gave the top 500 or so most active CS:GO people more keys to give out to friends

Who else remembers "rats" maps from CSS? You know where you are tiny and the map is someones room or a kitchen or a bathroom. Those were fucking awesome, I remember there was one 24/7 rats maps server I'd play on day and night. Don't know why those maps fell out of favor cause I haven't seen any of them played in years.
rats maps = snipers and falling down and dying/jumping on one of those things to bounce up, missing, and falling and dying
also terrible textures
that's all I remember from those
de_rats_kitchen (it had a boat and a grinder and a fridge) for 1.6 was THE SHIT though

I never played a rats level in CS, but i did play a few in TFC. They were pretty fun, since Soldiers, Heavies and Demomen could turn places like a cabinet into a complete bloodbath because of how small they were. It also helped that you'd respawn as soon as you died, so being reamed as soon as you entered an area wasn't that annoying. :v:

On the topic of CS nostalgia glassmaps were fun too. Glasstrap_final specifically, I played so much of that map.
I wish I could spend one night warping back in time and play CS:S in 2005-2006 again. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems back in the day there were a metric fuck ton of custom maps being played. And practically all of them were fun.

2007-8 had some pretty good stuff too, especially if you watched the competitions on (FpsBanana) Gamebanana.
Apparently a full-fledged soundtrack release for CS:GO is still undecided. I'm hoping it goes through.
