Am I the only one who thinks St. Marc looks a lot like some of the first maps in Swamp Fever and The Sacrifice in Left 4 Dead 2?
What I'm impressed with on dust 2 is that I feel like it's actually dust 2. It's not like what DICE did with karkand where I have no fucking idea where I am.
I once got a key, and I was just about to get up off of my bed and go tell someone on skype.
Then I realized it was all a dream.

how much more practice before i play with real people?
Thats up to you.
If you seriously ask a suggestion from here, the answer will be: "Practice forever, mate. :v: "
I don't like how at least 2 players on the terrorists team in cs_italy use AWPs. It makes for very boring and uninteresting gameplay.
Also, what's this?

An airport map? Perhaps CS_747?
That folder structure is in the L4D .vpks, so they could just be recycling models from the Dead Air campaign.
But since they seem to be recycling L4D maps anyway, we'll probably get a modified version of Dead Air's terminal.
I would so love to see militia, oilrig, 747 and estate

Oh god, Millitia with the new shadows and updated art... I think I need new pants at the thought of it.

I wish it is. It was one of my favourite maps in 1.6 and CZ, along with CS_Siege. Estate was very good.

they removed fog, cables and some other things for the "pro" CS players in competitive mode

Graphical optimization for comp players
That isn't the Valve I know,
because valve is not the one mainly working on the game
because valve is not the one mainly working on the game
Did valve hire the people that made the original CS to make this?
Did valve hire the people that made the original CS to make this?
Same team that helped with CS:S post-launch, I believe.
Did valve hire the people that made the original CS to make this?
it's being developed by hidden path and valve is supervising the project
it's being developed by turtle rock and valve is supervising the project
what an interesting company for valve to choose, is there any reason why the hired them to also make L4D and CSS? Did they just make really good mods?
it's being developed by turtle rock and valve is supervising the project
I also think it's the same bunch from Turtle Rock that helped develop the Left 4 Dead games, thus the similar animation styles. But I could be wrong.

Hidden Path

Actually Turtle mostly worked on the L4D, L4D2 being the first game made 100% by valve.
(Turtle Rock were bought by valve during L4D1´s development.)
Hidden Path
it still seems like such an odd small company for valve to trust such a big project with. However, if this game is a success valve would bring them so much publicity

They did also work on CSS with Valve.

And according to Wikipedia:
According to Valve, the reason they are often collaborating with Hidden Path Entertainment, is that they have known them for a while and their offices are "right around the corner". Hidden Path has also contributed model work on Left 4 Dead 2.
Makes sense why CS:GO has the same sexy art style as L4D2.

Cartoony?
Cartoony?
It's not that it's 'cartoony', but rather exaggerated. Since the L4D games took cliches and so forth straight from B-movie stylings, it worked with the animation style. Counter-Strike, when taken seriously, doesn't mesh as well with the style - but when you've got chicken genocides and generally don't think of the game is something realistic or all too serious, it's helped me come to terms with the animation style. :v:
Stylised.
I just miss the hl2 style, where everything that is old in a shitty place is dirty and has rust or whatever. Most of the props in CS:GO, L4D2 and portal 2 are just a plain texture with a few details.
