It will be open eventually calm the hell down
Man, the Steam forums for this game is awful. "Make it more like 1.6" "This is obviously a console port" "This game is doomed to fail, going back to 1.6" "Wtf map changes why not keep it the same as it was before" It's like they want the game to be an exact copy of 1.6 but with better graphics. *Rant over* So more keys tomorrow for the survey and people who played a lot of the beta this week. I wonder what the update will bring, hopefully the new shotguns, I want to try them out.
I don't think SPUF realizes this is a REAL beta. There is a distinct lack of appreciation on their part for just how much Valve is listening and communicating with the CS playerbase, as well as implementing changes and testing ideas based DIRECTLY on player feedback. Can't say I'm too shocked, though. Thankfully, none of the complaining changes how much fun I'm having with CS:GO.

In that case they should stop whining and just stick to 1.6 instead of endlessly complaining about a game (in beta!) they don't even HAVE to play.
No because how DARE other people have fun in a game not 100% 1.6!!
No because how DARE other people have fun in a game not 100% 1.6!!
Amen.
In that case they should stop whining and just stick to 1.6 instead of endlessly complaining about a game (in beta!) they don't even HAVE to play.
Yeah! What is this? Feedback to a game in beta? What are they THINKING!
They should actually just get used to the CS:GO way of playing. The new elements in a game can make one rethink the map and alternate routes it carries.
Yeah! What is this? Feedback to a game in beta? What are they THINKING!
There's a difference between feedback of the constructive/helpful criticism type, and generally bitching and moaning about how they changed it and now it sucks. Which drove away the original creator of CS when he wanted to update and innovate it himself. That's how bad it can be.
Yeah! What is this? Feedback to a game in beta? What are they THINKING!
"make it exactly like 1.6" isn't really good feedback though
GUYZ GAME IS TOO PRETTY NERF SHADOWSE OKI? ALSO DONT LIKE NEW MAP DESIGN MAKE IT LIKE IT WAS BEFORE BECAUSE THAT WORKED
-_- woke up with a gift in inventory thinking yes! finally! - nope 75% eve online coupon -_-
GUYZ GAME IS TOO PRETTY NERF SHADOWSE OKI? ALSO DONT LIKE NEW MAP DESIGN MAKE IT LIKE IT WAS BEFORE BECAUSE THAT WORKED
Exactly. Feedback is good. Whining for everything to be just like in 1.6 is just silly. CS is evolving, and the people who moan for GO to be just a pretty 1.6 need to deal with it.

Things like Bhop and precise movement, first shot accuracy should be in game. guy's respectful and has a point
I don't think it's correct to assume everyone suggesting 1.6 aspects only wants 1.6:Source. People just like 1.6 better than current GO and adding more 1.6 attributes makes it a better platform for improvement.
You know, a lot of people want it to be a copy of 1.6, so why not make 1.6 mode? Just like tournament mode except with identical maps and weapon specs.
The thing is that a lot of the 'complaints' stem from engine, movement and netcode changes. A lot of people want to bunnyhop, if only momentarily, for an advantage in movement; some hate the lag compensation, and others just plain out hate the Source engine's quirks. Even if the weapon recoil and specs were the same, they'd have to either heavily tweak variables or outright change some things in the engine to fully appeal to the 1.6ers.
there's also quite a large group of people who want CS GO to be a different game
I want it to evolve on the 1.6 base. Keep the 4 guns from 1.6 (AK, M4, AWP, Deagle) functioning the same because they were the most viable. Try to bring the other weapons up to that level through careful tweaking. Add new weapons. Replace old-glitchy movement mechanics (bhop/crouchhop) with new mechanics that require similar levels of skill.
When do they start handing out keys on Fridays?
When do they start handing out keys on Fridays?
I was about to post this myself haha.

Agh, I don't really know what to think about Bunnyhopping. On one hand, it's a flat-out engine exploit that was unintentional; without it, Counter-Strike (and by association, games like Quake) would've been more standard run-and-gun games like CS:GO is. Even moreso, the devs of Quake Live had to bring it back and teach it to players as a mainstay movement if they wanted the competitive scene to live in the game. On the other hand, it's not easy and is something that definitely works as a 'skill' or 'technique,' even if it does give a tremendous advantage, and it does subvert solely running-and-gunning in a unique way without having the now-ever-present Sprinting. It's also kinda fun to do as long as the game you're trying it in supports it. Not sure if i'd want CS:GO having bunnyhopping, but that video has a point in that there's got to be more to skill than who shoots first and/or aims better.

So far, best part of GO: Don't know of this was in the other Counter Strike games, but damn do I love it, it makes dying fun. Also, taking control of bots is fun.
The killcam comes from TF2 right
