To be honest, this game looks really boring... and bad...
Why the hype? For the guns? For the graphics? I don't get it...

Having an opinion does not make someone a pretentious idiot. However, having weakly based opinions while bashing on a game in an attempt to make oneself sound cool and edgy can make someone a pretentious idiot.

Well this is probably a truly good game.
If you'd see Counter Strike: Source for the first time then you'd probably think "pfft that doesn't look that fun" but when you play it.. it's like the most competitive shooter ever. ( in this generation. )

Mainly the shooting. It looks so slow and repetitive, and it looks like the bullets (or some other projectile) hardly have any impact.

This was precisely why I could not get past the first paragraph. I was literally sickened, not by what he said but [I] how [/I] he said it. He comes off as incredibly full of himself, as if he is 'special' by going against the herd so to speak.
All it does is make him look like someone who hadn't even bothered to play the game properly, and game a shit review because it thought it would make him look good.
I mean after I wrote my first comment and looked at the comments of others, I said; 'wow we must look like a pack of fanboys' but considering virtually every other reviewer and people on this forum that played the game, it seems like he was looking for an attention hit or something.

I completely agree about that, and I wasn't defending the person he is himself nor the lack of [written] professionalism, his wording choices were poor overall. But objectively speaking I don't "Judge" a person based on pure sensationalism, however positive or negative it may be. The reactions I read (most of them) about that review aren't even pointed at the review itself and that was my point, the readers are just throwing the rocks of taint and guiltiness at him, without even realizing that he may have done that review the way he did it on purpose to attract attention, in which case it still doesn't make him a pretentious idiot, at worst it will just make people talk about it and make more sound about his reviews in general, what he may seek is popularity, and even if it doesn't last long it will have worked for that period.

Actually I've heard the guns feel extremely powerful and satisfying.

Well you don't need to download it this second, you can wait till tomorrow to pre-load it, we all have a week till it releases, no real rush. Servers are fine.

Yeah, that's why I'm holding back. If anyone already purchased it from Best Buy, we'd still have to wait for them to finish downloading it before giving it the go ahead. I'm not expecting much, especially after they already changed the release back to the 26th once.
