Is it really that fun? I'm holding out for the PC steam version myself. Tell us if it does get free-roam, would you kindly? Also, I have a couple of questions about the game's instancing, how does that work exactly?
[sp]Whitting's elephant gun[/sp] is so cool, but there are more rifles around with world with [sp]no scope[/sp].
So, new weapon. "*forgot what goes here* Volcano" Sniper Rifle. It shoots normal bullets, but they explode in a mushroom cloud and catch things on fire... REALLY FIREY FIRE. Like, 50 dmg a second fire. It does more damage with 250 power than my sniper with 330 power. Oh, it was Orange, by the way, and found in co-op mode. Stuff will respawn by itself sometimes, so I guess it's kinda WoW-ish in that aspect...
If it's any help, the whole Rust Commons area (east + west) is pretty big.
Really? I could play it longer.
my record is 16 hours, but it's a tad over the top
Did anyone else have any trouble killing that big ass moth? I had to call in someone to help me with it in co-op lol, that's why I love this game.
Did anyone else have any trouble killing that big ass moth? I had to call in someone to help me with it in co-op lol, that's why I love this game.
I took it out with my special rocket launcher single handedly :v:

I found a Diablo 2 reference. A monster named Rakkanishu!

A monster named Rakkanishu!
It's on the New Haven bounty board, makes you go back to the Arid Badlands and light some torches, it's official name is "Mothrakk" (which sounds an awful lot like Mothra [who is a Godzilla Villain I do beleive]) I was level 23 or so when I did it, it was 25. I had a hard time dodging it's fire balls... It took my 23 Brick and a 25 Mordecai a long asssssss time to kill it. [editline]08:27PM[/editline]
I took it out with my special rocket launcher single handedly :v:
I kept shooting that rocket launcher that shoots the three rockets at once and only counts as 1 shot, wasn't that accurate. I ended up using my infinite ammo revolver.
So, wait, what about the instancing? Does that mean stuff randomly spawns and reconfigures every time you enter a new area? Not the landscape itself, but the stuff inside it like enemy spawns and weapons and shit? Also, is the game set up as a bunch of interconnected maps or areas that you have to load in-between to transition to? This game is free-roam, right?
I know, lets start another boycott
I guess sarcasm is lost on some people. Anyways, I know someone asked about the gun models, but is it the guns themselves that have a lot of variation or is it just the various attachments available that make the guns look different? Also are there underbarrel grenade launchers?

Who needs underbarrel grenade launcher? Jesus, just get that grenade mod that makes the grenades teleport at an enemies location and you're set. The guns always have some little bit different about them. Whether it be color or shape, the brands tend to follow their own specific guideline though. To put it lightly, you can tell an Atlas from a Tediore, but they're all going to look a tiny bit different, [editline]08:33PM[/editline]
, but chests stay opened.
Nope, chests re-stock too. I've looted the secret chest(s) in New Haven like 3 times now and made nearly the same amount of money. [editline]08:34PM[/editline]
So, wait, what about the instancing?
Nope, chests re-stock too. I've looted the secret chest(s) in New Haven like 3 times now and made nearly the same amount of money.
Huh... I guess I must have just passed them by then... 0.o
Huh... [editline]08:37PM[/editline] I have OCD [editline]08:38PM[/editline] No seriously, I have to do everything possible, I haven't skipped a side mission yet

I've just leveled too fast to care about some of them.
oh and side-note I've noticed twice on my map now, there are 2 locations marked as bounty board, yet there's nothing there. 1. In the arid badlands, at the gate where you had to open when you got the vehicle, there's the symbol for it on the map. 2. A bit north of New Haven, in a random location, on a container. Something to do with New Game+?
Hm... maybe xD Are you playing on the PS3 or 360 version, by the way? If you're on the PS3, we should run around and be idiots.
360, I sold my PS3 recently as a matter of fact. :|
How do the maps go? How big are they? This is important because it ties in to the free roam aspect which I find critical. Is it like the original Stalker's map design where maps were detailed bit tiny and had only one enter/exit point to a limited number of other specific locations? Are there dead end levels where you have to re-tread ground to get back? Are there specific points on the map, tunnels for example, that you have to go through to transition to another area? Are the towns their own encapsulated 'area'?
How many manufacturers are there? I read somewhere and it said 3, but that can't be right seeing as I've seen at least half a dozen, or so I think Tediore Atlas Jackobs Vladaf or whatever its called and a couple others, that I forgot. I think one was VLF or something like that.
Hm, I know that Torque is a Rocket Launcher only brand.
So will certain manufacturers only make a certain type of a weapon in a weapon class? For instance, a really powerful combat rifle that only shoots in bursts, and only a few variations on it? Or do manufacturers generally encompass an entire line of weapons, and not subsets of a weapon class?
Hm, I know that Torque is a Rocket Launcher only brand.
I have a Torgue SMG
can someone post a picture of their favorite weapon? No alien weapons or anything that would ruin the surprise please.

If my brother and his friends weren't being the worst band in the history of the game Rockband right now, I'd get you a pic of my volcano sniper...
I'll get a pic of my infinite ammo corrosive revolver
That sounds too awesome..
It is, lol. "Shoot a guy, BOOM. Look at the fire/mushroom cloud! Hah. He's on fire!"
