He's talking about the enormous machine in the background, genius.
That's a real machine btw The one ingame looks smaller though
my roommate has this on the 360, and he's been playing brick holy SHIT berserker mode FUCKS shit up he's got the time maxed out and when he goes in to fight he just gets his buddies to attract any strong enemies' attention, just sits in back, beating the fuck out of them. The health regen is awesome too. [editline]11:42AM[/editline] oh yeah and when he punches stuff it sets on fire
Why exactly did a lot of you guys get this for a console? Don't you usually bitch about that?
With things like poeple becoming skeletons when being elctrifified, vehicles with a giant saw mounted on the top ( I know there are real ones in germany but this one looks more badass ) and mad max like raiders we could say the overal idea behind the game was pretty cartoony already.
think of the kids in africa and feel guilty for wanting stuff
Just because there is kids in Africa that are starving means I'm not allowed to want things because I am lucky where I live and that I have a job? That's preposterous.
Ordering today. 50e for the xbox. Can't wait for it.
I've been trying to get the game since it came out, but it's sold out everywhere. When I do get it though, I think I'll be playing a pistol-only Mordecai.
I have to say that those graphics looked better than the current ones and I probably would have preferred it like that. Go on and flame me for that, I don't give a shit, but at least note that I never said that the current graphics suck (this isn't directed to the quoted user, just in general).
It's better quality, either because it's 1, a concept art, or 2, most games that are in development often show better graphics than they really are to wow the crowd when they reveal it.
does all guns have descriptions?
Please tell me this is still ingame.
yes it is
Let's find the secret attic now in Old Haven. I hear there's a little girl and her family hiding from the Crimson Lance in it.
Just ordered it. Getting it in 2-5 days. If anyone gets it for the xbox in next week i'd be glad to play with them :)
is it the last boss?
no, it's just a place where a group of bandits are holding out, along with the "king of bandits" who has a throne high atop the Derrick so appropriately named, "Thor". I'm still very skeptical about this game. I'm thinking about putting this on my birthday/xmas-wishlist, but I'm not sure yet. The combat looks very similar to Fallout3 (not the VATS part obviously), sluggish and not so fun. I managed to overlook that in Fallout3 because the exploration and free-roaming was so great, but it seems like the free-roaming in Borderlands isn't that deep. Is it so? Also, I don't think any of my friends will buy/get this game, and I don't like to play coop with random persons. So I'll probably play this alone for most of the time. Is the coop such a big focus that playing alone will suck?

Is it so, or would you say the gameplay is satisfying? Also, I don't think any of my friends will buy/get this game, and I don't like to play coop with random persons. There is free-roaming, just alot tethered down to a certain extent. Unlike Fallout 3, there is ALOT to do in Borderlands. There's over 130 missions/side missions. The gameplay is very satisfying, you will be saying things like "holy fuck i melted that mother fucker" alot.
playing with others is fun
playing with others is fun
Yeah, it sucks when you're a higher level and don't get anything but 2xp for your kills though.

Man those cliffracers are fucking annoying. ...just finished the canyon area, most beautiful area in the game so far.
So in the new gamer magazine for this month, they also cover Borderlands and have a special form of reviewing it. Two reviewers basically ask themselves questions and they answer it. I'll more or less try to translate it. 1. If I want to play a RPG then I'll get Dragon Age. If I want to play a shooter then I should get Modern Warfare 2. #1: Borderlands has indeed a shall chance with all the other games currently launching. That said is the game pretty good regarding co-op. We have at least enjoyed it. #2: Well... I haven't enjoyed it that much, actually. I would play Dragon Age for the epic story and emotion, MW2 for the excitement and Borderlands... well... just for the little fun. And not even a lot of fun, just a little bit of fun. So yes, Borderlands is pretty chance-less this period. 2. Borderlands leans on World of Warcraft, and that is a good thing. #1: It looks as if Borderlands tries really hard to be a MMO, with it's duels, instances and battlegrounds. But in the end it really isn't one, so the quests wherein you have to kill 50 creatures are incredibly boring incredibly fast. Unless you play it through co-op with someone who can't shut up for 3 seconds. #2: It looks a lot like World of Warcraft from many aspects. But due to that it also falls short. Even though Borderlands is a console game, it can't even stand in World of Warcraft's shadow. (Here they hint at a lower section of the article, where they explain that Gearbox has admitted that Borderlands is a mix between Halo and World of Warcraft. And that especially the last has been looked at a lot. Then they also give examples.) 3. There are thousands of guns in Borderlands, and that's great! #1: To be honest, I hardly noticed this. There are indeed a lot of guns, but they all feel and work alike. #2: Shotguns feel totally different than sniperrifles, of course. Then there are also guns that have extra effects like firing acid or fire and even the reload time, scope and number of bullets in one clip make a difference. But thousands of guns? Hell no. Perhaps a hundred, but once you beat every boss multiple times, and he keeps dropping the same gun... well you can't convince me that there are thousands of different guns. 4. The new style Borderlands has is a lot better than the old one. #1: I love it! The drawn lines are perhaps not so brilliant but it looks quite nice... Although I think I am the only one on the world that feels that way. #2: I don't think about it a lot. In fact, I think Borderlands is f*cking ugly. (...) 5. Borderland's story is pretty bad. (You should have read the actual question... I thought I'd just... change it to what they meant to say with it. ) #1: They threw in some woman who screams at you through your HUD so that the quests don't look completely separate. But you can hardly call that a story. In fact, that wasn't even in the preview-version of the game, so Gearbox just threw it in there. Gearbox obviously didn't think story was that important, a big flaw if you ask me. 2#: If I am very honest... The story made me quite sad. I didn't understand it one bit. I just know that the quests were extremely easy. Kill ten creatures here, collect three objects there... Not a very exciting and in-depth storyline. 6. If you do not play Borderlands in co-op, you shouldn't play it at all. 1#: Definitely. The surroundings in Borderlands are rather dull. The fact that you're wondering around in there is at least very boring. It's a lot more fun with two players... Little bit of talking and screaming, little bit of shooting, little bit of loot hunting... completing some quests here and there. Fun, but only in split-screen co-op! 2#: Sure, it's alright. But even in co-op I don't see many people having the patience to make it all the way to level 50. Too little depth in both story, surroundings and customization makes Borderlands more of a Boringlands. Final conclusion; if you can't complete it within 40 hours you're doing something wrong. Score: 75 (Which is a decent score, mostly based on Co-Op)
Alright Bo-yos. Tell me how right you think this is.
