How is pirating a game not stealing it? You are copying it, and distributing it for free over a large network.
How is that different from breaking into a store, stealing a shipment and distributing it for free?
The result is still the same, it's not like people with a pirated version are going to go to a store and give the cashiers money saying; "here, this is for the copy of borderlands I downloaded illegally".
You can justify it all you want, but in the end it is still stealing.
Am I the only one who got it for PS3?
no, i have it for ps3
so get the fuck online now, there's only 2 people on my friends list who have it and aren't there
PSN ryno5660 do it

You'll have Borderland, 21 hours before us (5 days for the people in Europe), but we'll have better grammar forever.

What's with people up in arms about the delayed release date?
i never said it wasn't stealing, but it is more like copying in a literal sense, but they are still losing money.
*facepalm* that is exactly what I just said.
Whatever, consider this tangent done with. Get the train back on the tracks.
Allright I need to get into the 4-pack deal before it's too late. The guys I was going to be with bailed so now I need 3 people who still want to get it. Instead of paying $50 for the game with the steam 4pack deal you get it for ~$32 per game.
Any love? :(
I would split it with you FOR SURE but I don't know how it's split up. Do I pay 32 and then you and the other guys pay that as well?

No-one's losing money when games are pirated. They're just losing possible profit, imaginary money. If pirating is stealing, so is not buying everything you see. The stores lose possible money they could've had if you had bought the game, or anything else in a store. By your logic, we should buy fucking everything we see, because not buying it is making stores lose their imaginary money.
Personally I see nothing wrong in downloading a game you already own. I did it for my WC3 and expansion when I lost my discs but still had my CDkeys. You could even download them off Blizzard's website, but I forgot my blizzard account's name.
I started a new character and joined a friend doing playthrough 2
Got my Lilith up to level 16 before even starting the story on it's own file.
Lilith, seems to be a very different character, I've been doing the elemental tree, phasewalk shocks enemies, melee does corrosive damage, get a kill = run faster, more xp. She may just be equally as fun as brick.
Not sure where you're from, but here in Canada, if you legally purchased something, circumventing the copy protection is perfectly legal. In other words, you buy a CD from the store, you can legally download that CD again, as long as it's for personal use. Uses for this include:
-Your disc is damaged
-It comes out on another format
-the disc has copy protection making it impossible to use on your PC (you never know)
Downloading something you've paid for is not theft.
Comes out on another format ?
So i could buy Assassins creed for the 360 for 20 bucks and then download it for the PC which would cost 30 bucks ( this is just an example.. i dont know the price ranges ) and then it would be perfectly legal ?

materials used in the processing of goods
eg, not just BRAINPOWER
My god why is everyone making such a big deal about this. It comes out in one fucking day. Go watch a movie or something.
I love arguments about piracy, because most people have hugely flawed arguments and are generally idiots when it comes to blackbearding.
Also it's over 4 days for Europe.

Okay so username and lettuce-head have expressed interest in the four pack, I may have another person I can get on but if not we still need one more.
Assuming Lettuce Head uses an alt or something as he's now banned of course.

Hey guys piracy is bad :smug:
movies last a day
lord of the rings?
we are more pissed about the fact that pirates get it earlier AND that they can play online for free.

I don't see why can't they release for EU and US at the same time? That would reduce piracy and everyone would be happy.

hey me too except
available: 30 october 2009

minus the fact that in using a p2p program you're aiding someone else who may not own the software in downloading it so you're still engaging in illegal activity
My god why is everyone making such a big deal about this. It comes out in one fucking day. Go watch a movie or something.
The issue is that legitimate consumers are being punished while pirates are playing the game.
This was never about preventing piracy, this is about driving sales of the console version.
minus the fact that in using a p2p program you're aiding someone else who may not own the software in downloading it so you're still engaging in illegal activity
There's actually nothing illegal about that in Canada. The onus is on you, the individual, to do the right thing. It's not other people's responsibility to make sure you're following the law. If any of you guys pirates the game, I'm not going get offended, I just hope you actually pay for it if you like it.
When I was younger and didn't have a job, I downloaded most of the games I had because I couldn't afford to buy them. Ever since I got a job, I have only downloaded 2 games, Spore (which turned out to be shit and I deleted it) and Mass Effect (which was quite good and I ended up buying it DRM free). Though what I did was actually not legal, these people would not have made any money off me because I had none to give.
we are more pissed about the fact that pirates get it earlier AND that they can play online for free.
I'm pretty sure most people that pirated it are just going to delete it when their preordered copy unlocks. If they do that I see nothing wrong with it.

Never mind, I really have no interest in continuing this argument.
