and the AK74/2 is amazing, Compared to the Viper 5 and AK74/2U

I never liked "Real name" mods, I had one in Fallout 3 and It made everything feel "Tacti-c00l" to me, I'd rather has the silly knockoff names.

It peeves me when I actually know the name of all of the guns but the game calls them funny things like "Viper" when I know it is an MP5.

Worst part is the annoying as hell main menu music you have to hear over and over and over
It peeves me when I actually know the name of all of the guns but the game calls them funny things like "Viper" when I know it is an MP5.
I don't know much about guns so the Stock names are fine for me.
SGM allows you to join some factions.
http://beef.site.nfoservers.com/
The factions themselves, and their quests, haven't been fleshed out fully, and you won't find there being any CS-esque faction conflicts.
Wait so I eventually could have joined the other factions? I never figured that out, for example the Mercenary guard always told me to go away so I eventually just killed everyone in their base.
You can enter that base by talking to the guard while wearing a merc suit
Fuuuuck, gonna have to replay SGM soon then.
Wait so I eventually could have joined the other factions? I never figured that out, for example the Mercenary guard always told me to go away so I eventually just killed everyone in their base.
You can enter that base by talking to the guard while wearing a merc suit
Yes.
But factions are more or less of no-use in call of pripyat, sure duty and freedom fight and shit, but really, they all end up back in the same base at the end of the day, mercenaries would be cool, bandit's would be the same as duty and freedom.
Unless they had specific bases for themselves, then meh.
What, so I can't join my freedom bros and fight the duty scum?

Without a mod?
Update soon fellow Stalkers!
I return with tales from the People Soup Exclusion Zone! Stay tuned...
When I try to post the crash log straight afterwards the crash, it just says
stack trace:
and nothing else. What do I have to do to get it here to fix my damn LURK problem?

Fuck that mod in a fiery inferno to.
Kickass. My new rig can run SHOC maxed out with the smoothest framerate I've ever seen in a computer. Makes me excited to see how the other STALKER games look on this thing.

I remember when I first ran SoC with an 8500GT. Got like 30 FPS on max settings, looked awesome.
Then I got an 8800GT. Ran at like 80 FPS on max settings, looked awesome.
Now I get somewhere over 100 FPS. :v:
I always have trouble with non-linear games. I never get around to finishing the main quest.
For instance, I still have yet to beat TES IV: Oblivion.
I'm gonna try beating NLC on Master, wish me luck

Okay. Moved from AMK:SE back to LURK. Did LURK have any updates yet or is still a "on hiatus" mod?

Took me overnight to download smp. I couldn't save outside of Sid's Bunker. So I was "FUCKING REALLY."
Update 1: My first day in the People Soup Exclusion Zone
Fellow Stalkers! I return unharmed thus far. I have spent the equivalent of 1 game day in STALKER. I have many adventures to share with you, so grab your AK's, vodka, artifacts, and bloodfuckers and gather 'round the campfire for story time!
First things first. Playing People Soup is the most fun I've had in STALKER in a long long time. I truly believe that People Soup is a marvelous work of art and everyone who has played STALKER should appreciate the quality of modding. That being said, I wish it was in English because the translation just doesn't cut it. Anyway, on to the good stuff.
The mod starts out in Cordon up by the Death Truck (near the level changer to Garbage). The stalker that saved me is there, and after talking to him he gives me a pistol with 8 cartridges in it and a medkit. That is all. No suit, no money, no help, Final Destination.
After talking to my savior, my main objective is to find the Doc in one of the basements in the rookie village. Sounds easy enough, until I reach the military checkpoint under the railway.

Yes, I did have to cross somehow to get to the rookie village. I considered trying to pass through the anomaly tunnel but I thought I'd go with a more....straightforward approach. After all, with no sacrifice comes no reward.

7 rounds, no medkits, no suit, gotta make it count.

After I shoot him in the head, he falls to the ground and I grab his AK. He happens to have a suit, which I take. I also take the small amount of ammo on his body, while being shot at from all sides. Bullets are literally falling at my feet. I pop out and shoot this guy before he can shoot me.

I advance and climb to the middle of the hill on the right to gain the high ground. From here I rain hot lead on my opponents. Forecast today (if you're a soldier): 100% chance of being SHOT IN THE FACE.

As grenades fall at my feet, I run back down the hill only to have this guy try to flank me. He learned his lesson the hard way.

Admiring my handiwork.

After finishing off the last of them and looting everything they own, I find the Lieutenant and loot him. I sit back and admire my beautiful new Abakan. It also seems as though the zone is taking notice of me in the news feed. I can sense its fear....

After making it to the rookie village, I find that no one will talk to me. Wolf seems to have been given an upgrade too.

But he won't talk to me either :C

Even Sid won't talk to me until I've seen the doctor, so I stride down the stairs and chat it up with the Doc. We converse and he gives me some sort of medicine and says I should sleep after I take it. I figure, why not?

So I take the medicine and wind up here. Wat. At least I was given plenty of artifacts, a nice exosuit, a minigun, and enough ammo to take out a small army.

Mind you, there is no map, no directions, nothing. I was just plopped down into this cave with no idea of what I'm supposed to do. Anyway, I hear some commotion so I peak up over this hill. Sitting before me lies an army of mutants. Minigun + Mutant Army =
:smug:

Bitch, have some minigun! It's delicious this time of year!

And you!

And you!

And you!

And especially you Zombie Skeleton!

After slaughtering countless mutants, I wander around enough to find some guys to talk to. They take my minigun, exo, artifacts, and minigun ammo in return for the same medicine that the Doc gave me. I drink it and wind up back in Cordon in some attic.

I go back to Sid's bunker to see if he would like to talk to me now. He does.

Selling some of my loot and admiring a nifty mp3 player. I'll have one some day...
He finally gives me the "Save Nimble" quest, so I set out to save the bastard...

...but not without admiring the new fists I just bought :D

...and not without chasing some rats around :D

I try punching them to death but it takes too long...

...so I speed things up.

I eventually make it to the car park and clear it out.

After Nimble is good and safe at the rookie village and I return that flashdrive to Sid, I accept some quests from the other stalkers and go out exploring. I run across this anomaly and it instantly becomes my favorite anomaly in the zone.

I go to talk to Fox and I encounter the stalker who saved me from the death truck. After I talk to the both of them, I start my hike back to the rookie camp.

The sun is setting in the zone. I decide that I've earned a nice bottle of vodka and a seat right next to the fire in the rookie camp when I get there.

Back in the rookie camp. I admire the evidence of a hard days work in my inventory in the form of loot and quest rewards. Not too shabby for my first day.
That is all for now my friends. Although it is early in my voyage, I dream of the day when I can scream from the tops of the tallest Pripyat buildings and think, "Yea, I OWN this Zone. Neigh, Facepunch owns this Zone."
Jesus, media tag those
