Maybe Roma Isotope has some twin bros that have the same names. You just gotta kill them all
Can you actually kill a loner quietly enough that all his buddies nearby don't turn hostile?
In AMK:SE you apparently can. I killed everyone and the final guys in the Bar were still neutral. I knifed loners who were a couple feet from other loners, they didn't care. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] Now that my AMK:SE playthrough is truly complete, it's time to play Doom's mod. :v:
So, I launch SoC to take some screenshots of an Ecologist suit for a Minecraft skin, but it's the middle of the night. I try to go to sleep, but I can't because of an energy drink. So I look down the contacts list to pass the time... words words words
I was talking to this one Stalker around a campfire one time and he told me a story about some famous stalker. Apparently he ventured into the middle of the zone and got to some wish granter thing and wished to live forever. So every time he dies, he comes back to life. Roma Isotope must be that stalker.
I wish there was more of a stealth part in gameplay, like if you want to assasinate someone, you can throw a can against a wall, then kill him silently when he investigates, and then his friends don't become hostile unless they find the body. And with a silenced rifle, enemies take longer to figure out where you are, etc.

I'd rather just have loners act more like loners--not care so much about people that aren't in their immediate group. Why should Slava Iceman at the Bar care that I killed some dude in the Cordon?

Also, I think I'm going to try Redux.
Soooo to anyone who read the first part of my People Soup playthrough, should I continue it?
Because, if you gain a reputation for killing loners, who's to say that you might not decide to kill them? Also, I think I'm going to try Redux.
Too bad reputation doesn't actually do anything ingame.
Part two of my image dump and shit~ And so I begin my journey to the Red Forest. [img_thumb]http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/2741/ssdavid012211212014l05b.jpg [/img_thumb] I dispatched these guys a few hours ago. [img_thumb]http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/6420/ssdavid012211212148l07m.jpg [/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/9715/ssdavid012211212200l07m.jpg [/img_thumb] The zone isn't enjoying my presence here, but it can't do shit to stop me. [img_thumb]http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6973/ssdavid012211212211l07m.jpg [/img_thumb] -Missing images of my glorious combat (The Monolith put up a good fight, so good that I couldn't take screenshots because I was too busy getting my body bombarded by radioactive particles.) - There was a long uphill struggle to Pripyat, it looks like the poor Ecologists were ambushed by Monolith scum prior to my arrival. [img_thumb]http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6158/ssdavid012211213604l10r.jpg [/img_thumb] The survivors survey their dead comrades. (I did not harm them, they were already dead inside.) [img_thumb]http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9440/ssdavid012211213643l10r.jpg [/img_thumb] And even then, their chance of survival on the return trip to Yantar is absolutely guaranteed. I killed everything there. [img_thumb]http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/9043/ssdavid012211213700l10r.jpg [/img_thumb] So, the final battle begins. I'm going to head to the core of the zone and punch it in the fucking nuts, then walk out as it explodes in some extraordinary manner. Thus causing the events of CoP to happen. [img_thumb]http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/6170/ssdavid012211213721l10r.jpg [/img_thumb]
Holy crap what mods are you using [editline]22nd January 2011[/editline]
I was talking to this one Stalker around a campfire one time and he told me a story about some famous stalker. Apparently he ventured into the middle of the zone and got to some wish granter thing and wished to live forever. So every time he dies, he comes back to life. Roma Isotope must be that stalker.
A.k.a. load game :smug:
Do you happen to be running SoC on the UT3 engine? :v:
Holy crap what mods are you using
Doom's. Also Doom, if you can please for the love of god remove the sway after you've fired a high recoil weapon. It's incredibly annoying. Also remove the ridiculous recoil from the SVD, I fire once and it points my scope into the sky.
I shot the barkeep in the shoulder in Doom's mod, he turned and looked at me, and then the game crashed. :v:
Every time I killed someone in the Bar area AMK:SE would crash.

Whoa, Barkeep looks pretty badass with the nugget in that pic.
Does anyone know where I can get the font that's used in stalker when you look at a person?
Was wandering around Jupiter, and I encountered this group of ostrich-bandits near the Bitumen anomaly. :ohdear:
Anyone else have problems with throwing grenades in CoP? Seems like they teleport about a meter straight up before flying forwards. I can't use them in any enclosed area because they warp through/bounce off of the fucking ceiling!
:frogdowns: He then, must truly be... The Wizard of the Zone.
I'm not sure whether the story was from the vanilla game or an added bit from AMK though.
Hate that so much. I wonder if that is possible to change
Seems like if you do a variable-power throw with mouse2 it doesn't happen.
Most CoP mods fix the ridiculous grenade throwing for e.g. Call From Pripyat (basically just a rebalance mod) [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline]
Doom's. Also Doom, if you can please for the love of god remove the sway after you've fired a high recoil weapon. It's incredibly annoying. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline]
I shot the barkeep in the shoulder in Doom's mod, he turned and looked at me, and then the game crashed. :v:
That's the same in vanilla and every SoC mod, it's to do with the way Barman and Sid are coded. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline]
Hey Doom, you might already know this, but some of the side mission descriptions don't exist, they just say "unfinished". If you could get those added in in the next patch, that'd be great. Also, how do I disable enemies spawning with little to no ammo? I don't need everything they had on them, but at least a mag or two of ammo and some bandages. EDIT: specifically, Wolf's Cordon quests don't have descriptions.
They're unfinished mainly because I don't know what those missions do. If you get one, tell me what the mission has you do. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline]
Does anyone know where I can get the font that's used in stalker when you look at a person?
I don't know what font specifically it is, but they're stored in the textures/ui and textures/fonts folders. Use a database extractor. They're not proper fonts per se, but rather .dds texture files.
I really wish they kept working on the Freeplay mod, it has such potential to add small chain quests to each faction and allowing you to recruit some of your allies. Its ok though I can protect the Zone just by killing everyone. E: That being said, Doom have you looked at OL's companion scripts at all? I tried to search for a stand alone version that would be easier to grab and (possibly easier to implement) but didn't find anything just people saying OL has it.
The Redux blowouts are amazing
The Atmosfear 2 blowouts are amazing
:eng101:
The Redux blowouts are amazing
They're thanks to Atmosfear 2, good ain't they.

Just finished the scientists missions in CoP, I got Topal and his team out ok, but snake died. SNAKE!!!
