Wow, Doom's mod actually uses the default main menu and HUD.
Haven't seen those in a while. :v:

Things... happened here... :ohdear:
So guys I was wondering, can you join one faction in Clear Sky and switch to another one later?
I have a friend playing right now and he wants to join the loners then go back and join Clear Sky. Is it possible?
Hey doom, just some suggestions for your next big release for your mod:
-AMK's offline A-life would be awesome here. The high ranking AI seem to do fairly poorly in your mod. They die alot and don't rack up points that quick. In AMK, however, they kick ass. They survive for a long time and many of them get up into the 3,000s within the first month of gameplay. IMO AMK's offline AI would not only be better, but would also make more sense. I expect "Master" to live up to his namesake, not to walk into an anomaly and die.
-I know you're already working on this, but anomaly avoidance scripts. Whatever AMK uses is excellent; never seen an NPC walk into an anomaly with that, except for the one time this bandit tried sprinting away from a grenade and walked right into a Whirligig.
-More weapon diversification for loners and bandits. Half the experienced or veteran loners I run into seem to have some variety of AK-74. AKS-74, AK-74, AKS-74u, etc. IMO there should be a much wider variety of weapons for these guys. One ought to be able to walk into the bar and see experienced STALKERs with PPSh-41s, many types of shotguns, AKMs, AKS-47s, some NATO weapons, various SMGs, some NATO weapons, maybe a Mosin here and there...
-Grenades need their blast radius upped significantly. The RGD-5 should be lethal out to ~6m away from it. The F1 should almost certainly be lethal under ~11m and have potential to kill/seriously wound out to 20m. That's what it says in the grenade description, but that doesn't appear to be true at all.
-Veterans/experts in factions should probably have more to distinguish them from the standard experienced guys. I've noticed that DUTY veterans in SEVAs often just have AN-94s. The experts in exosuits seem to be set apart well enough, with AS Vals and RPKs, but I feel like the veterans could do with a sprinkling of OC-14s, AK-103s, etc.
Some bugs:
- Hunter's "family rifle" is a Mosin Nagant, but it's world model is that of a sawed-off TOZ-66.
- The VSS Vintorez is labeled as an AS Val.
- I think you've said you're working on this, but I'm not sure: NPCs prefer their pistols to everything else.
Every single bandit I go against uses their pistol, despite me looking in their inventory later and seeing they have an AK74 and 30 or so rounds. No matter what distance away, they always use their pistol.

Doom's mod is pretty though. :3:
Can anyone hook me up with a Vanilla clear-sky save just before or after the lowering bridge to Limask mission?
Are there sleeping bags in Doom's mod?
Are there sleeping bags in Doom's mod?
I don't think so. I hope he adds them soon. It's boring waiting until day because your suit doesn't have night vision.
Are there sleeping bags in Doom's mod?
Yes you have to buy them off the traders though, and not every faction trader has one.
So I went Merc in Doom's mod

I didn't want to kill them, but they made me. I just wanted to trade with Sid, but no, they all had to start shooting me. Fuck, I really didn't want to have to do that... :crying:
Several traders have sleeping bags available for purchase, I believe.
By the way, are mercs supposed to be everyone's enemy in your mod, Doom? Army Warehouse is kind of a hostile location for a base if you're not allied with Freedom
I believe NPCs switch to pistols depending on how far the enemy is away, i've noticed if they are a large distance they start taking shots with pistols, I assume because it's more accurate and not a waste of ammo to spray with the AK
Does that make sense? Think about it. If you saw a guy 30m away, would you reach for your pistol over your AK-74? In reality, unless you had lost/didn't have a primary weapon, you would never switch to your pistol. Unless that primary weapon is something that has some sort of kill radius that could be hazardous to you if fired at too short a range (I.E RPG.)

There are sleeping areas. The little mats on the ground and the cots can often be slept on. Not all of them though.
Man I couldn't live with those innocent deaths on my mind... I restarted and went Freedom :smith:
Whats the difference between offline alife and online alife?
Whats the difference between offline alife and online alife?
Offline:
-A-Life out of range of you.
Online:
-A-life in range of you. They are fully modelled, and all their actions can be seen/heard. They can be interacted with.

Random pelvis.
Also Doom, how come I can't see my fire mode indicator? You can see what I mean in the screenshot
Whats the difference between offline alife and online alife?
online alife is what's around you within rendering distance, what can be interacted with, etc, whereas offline alife is what happens outside of rendering distance while you play
I've attempted five survival plays, all of them end in me dying from a damned whirling.
Shitload of new weapons, and thus completely new balance associated with them.
Graphics have been improved drastically, but if you're running on DX8 non-widescreen, it's only gonna be shit for you.
Storyline is basically vanilla, though.
Uses my shader mod except Holden raped it with Fast Bloom :V:

Looks like you have Sun Shafts enabled which as a side effect makes everything all sunny and saturated, less zone like but still looks fucking great.
[editline]24th January 2011[/editline]
Also what are all the Ausfags doing on Australia day?
Also what are all the Ausfags doing on Australia day?
I had to turn that off before, actually.
When I went from Yantar to Agroprom it looked like the sun was 5 miles from the Earth until I turned it off. :v:

That's some leather jacket I got there...
Soooo... Going with the youtubetest.netne link, it has Doom's full mod right?
That leather jacket is a unused item in vanilla I have no idea what the hell it was suppose to be for anyways.
Fuck yeah, I just got to Pripyat with all four squad members alive (please disregard the fact that I had to reload the game at least 15 times)
But... All those... snorks...
:ohdear:
Fuck. Loners. Are you a Loner? Fuck you. Yeah, I killed Scarecrow. Lukash told me to. Got a problem with Freedom? too fucking bad, geddafuckoutta the warehouses. I'm trying to save your ungrateful asses from unspeakable horrors in the village, but I won't be able to because I misplaced all my bullets inside your faces.
(so, yeah, killing Scarecrow turns all loners everywhere against you. I assume this isn't intended)
In other news, the Saiga-12 is a magical gun made of happiness and semi-automatic buckshot rainbows and a bandit is the top stalker in the zone.
For my inv-space script I'm thinking about adding duffel bags which would extend the amount of space players have. But this makes some balancing problems, as it would be a no-brainer without some downsides.
If I make it weigh more, that makes no sense as they practically have no weight without stuff in them.
If I make it cost more, that makes no sense as they are made of pretty cheap material.
If I make it take up more space, that doesn't really matter as it would not really be within another container, as it is a container.
Obviously there is a max limit of 1 actually affecting the max space.
While I'm there, I notice that quite a few bandits have the 'can you repair my gear?' dialog option, but only one of them actually could. The bandit traders also had empty inventories.
That's odd. The bandit trader is in that room where you find the massive stash of vodka, explosive barrels, guns and armour in vanilla.
It really was odd. The others responded to "Can you repair my gear?" by saying "I do not know what that means." I also definitely did not have the real bandit trader in that case, then. Though all of the 'traders' had Ru totals of '---'. Other bandits had upwards of 100,000 Ru, while most only had 5k
Hey guys, I'm having a hud problem with Doom's mod. I'm running my resolution at 1366X768 and it cuts off right where it shows the firing mode. Most people wouldn't care, I tend to be one of them. But does anyone know how to fix that?
Yes, I could go down to 1280X720, but then it looks all blurry and not as crisp looking.
I'll be replacing the HUD at the earliest opportunity with a minimalistic one like the one from LURK. For now, I am unable to fix widescreen UI issues, sorry :frown:
