Gonna try Redux for CoP later. I've got the non-Steam version however; what version number is required?
1.6.02 or something, and everyone has it so no need for patching.
AMK was always the same, it's just that the more you played it the more mature it became.

There's only one CoP Worldwide version, Steam or not.
Installing a Solid-State Drive, fellow Stalkers! Wish me luck!
AMK hasn't "matured" at all, it's still the exact same it was a year ago
AMK 1.4, the one Sidorovich edition is based off, has been around since '08. 1.4.1, which for some reason was never translated and given an EN installer, was released later and is what people soup is based on.
so is there a mod that makes the game easier? i've tried pripyatan and it's bullshit
so is there a mod that makes the game easier? i've tried pripyatan and it's bullshit
Nearly all mods are meant to increase the difficulty. In which case, pripyatan is pretty much the lunatic deep end of difficulty. The various "_____ Complete" mods are basically graphical enhancement and bug fix mods, so they don't change difficulty. If you're still getting used to STALKER, use those mods, and turn down the difficulty if needed.

Dude im pissed im in X16 and Im going to turn off 2nd panel and 3 zombies walk up. I put 5 magnum rounds into one of their heads and they kill me. BULL SHIT!
Is S.M.R.T.E.R a good mod for CoP? I just wanna know.

There is no way they should take that many shots to the head from a large pistol calibre unless they're incredibly beefed-up civvie zombies.

It's shit I've heard.
Is S.M.R.T.E.R a good mod for CoP? I just wanna know.
I didn't find it to be particularly well-made, in particular all the new weapons are scattered in boxes hidden in (sometimes really bullshitty) places, rather than traded or used by NPCs. Then there's the usual balance issues and bugs.
There is a lot of new stuff (mainly weapons and suits in 0.41), however, so if that's your thing, go for it.
Wow, whoever was talking about how awesome the .50AE Deagle is in AMK:SE--YOU WERE NOT KIDDING. It is literally the manliest gun in the Zone, and accordingly I nearly went over my weight limit grabbing .50AE HydraShok rounds for it so I can take it with me to Pripyat. I'm gonna be plugging Monolith all day erry day with this thing.
Yeah, it's pretty good taking NPCs. Not so much for mutants. :v: Takes 8 shots to kill a snork.
I went back to my shotgun, that's all I ever used the first weapon slot for, mutant killing weapons.
I think I either need a semi-auto shotgun or to make a sacrifice to Thorny here.

Run at it with a knife. Works every time.
I agree that the Mosin Nagant is "off" in AMK. My experiences are with the non-scoped variant, but its performance is inconsistent. I think I will poke around in the weapons.ltx and see what I can see. 7.62x54 is a pretty powerful round, I wouldn't think it should take more than one or two to a dog's abdomen to kill it. Last time I played, it took 5+ shots from the rifle and probably 40 rounds of 9x19FMJ to kill a damn flesh. (Probably more a problem with the mutant than with the guns.)
You guys and your nugget talk is fine and all, but doesn't typing it get tedious after the first time? Not trying to be an ass, just asking.

Get the scoped Mosin Nagant and aim in general direction of the enemy. Instant victory in all long-ranged battles. Althrough the tougher guys(Spetsnaz, Monolith, veterans etc.) tend to take two hits to bring down(one in the head), and Pseudodogs have an immunity against it.

They're the same length, so I don't see how it's tedious
also, fleshes are notoriously tough everywhere but the face. Shoot them in the face.
Sorry about no information, was in a bit of a hurry. Happens regardless if I'm
using mods or not. I used to be able to launch, I tried reinstalling it still happens.
Fleshes are supposed to be killed with knifes!
My Mosin Nagant scoped was utter shit, it took 3 hits to kill a dog and 4 to kill a bandit, and even then it just downed the fucker.
My Mosin Nagant scoped was utter shit, it took 3 hits to kill a dog and 4 to kill a bandit, and even then it just downed the fucker.
It really needs to be stronger, what's the point of such a slow-firing weapon if it can't one-shot even dogs?
Although, it does depend on what ammo you're using, though I haven't had any decent results with 7N14 or BP ammo.

Can you recommend me some good mods for CoP then please?

I shot that Flesh in the everything. I'm aware of the weak points, the problem was that nothing seemed to stop this bastard. It killed a loner by the entrance to the Garbage just as I engaged it, and ran past the bus stop near the hangar by the time I brought it down. A couple Stalkers in the bus stop opened up on it as well before my mp5 finally stopped it. This thing was a (literally and figuratively) beast.

When I got that I saw a bandit in an exoskeleton at the bar with some tribal design all over his suit. Uninstalled instantly.

What mod are you using?
SGM looks like it's in russian, do you know what it does? I know there is a translation download but I wanna know what the mod changes/adds/removes/etc.
Does the BTR at Cordon have Night Vision in AMK? Sid wants me to steal some documents and I'm sorely lacking in the Anti-vehicle department, is it worth a trek to Barkeep to see if he has one?

Use grenades.
SGM looks like it's in russian, do you know what it does? I know there is a translation download but I wanna know what the mod changes/adds/removes/etc.
It's a Russian mod, yes. The translation is very good.
It adds new weapons, new suits (all upgradeable), new factions (with quests and traders, though the quests are not all done), new items, new artifacts, mutants drop pieces when killed (since they no longer have inventories like in CS and SoC, they drop them directly to the ground), new quests (lots of them) and various other things.
There are some annoyances like e.g. landmines that are very difficult to see and impossible to survive in any suit, but thankfully those, and other things, can be turned on or off at will from the mod options menu.
Sorry about no information, was in a bit of a hurry. Happens regardless if I'm
Use grenades.
This. If you're really good, it's possible to get an F1 to land next to them. Requires a lot of trial and error, plus the Hind spawns when one is killed. Best to wait until one has a good suit, a grenade launcher or RPG-7 + lots of ammo.
