What is this wizardry
Doable, I'm currently rolling without a suit and only knife in AMK
I pretend I was robbed clean and I am plotting revenge on every bandit in the Zone by knifing them to death
Is it weird that I never use artifacts?
I can never find any that I think are decent anyway.
He wont stop running into that anomaly.
You're never getting him past that.
You're never getting him past that.
Oh well. (non-sarcastically) I didn't really waste alot my time trying to save him anyway.
You can shoot him to get the unadjusted psy-protection.

I will do this when next time I play
For now I want to tell you guys of my adventure in AMK.
Right after of exiting Agroprom, into garbage with the docs, I go down the path and hear a shootout, that's going on at the hangar (this is dark as hell night, so I cant see shit, even with a flashlight) So I climb the hill of the tunnel thing were the trains are, kill some bandits on the way, then I hear a familiar sound, eerily like a bloodsucker. Scared and cant see shit, I jump on the train, and go to the end closest to the hangar, and I hear this ungodly screaming coming from a bandit somewhere in the darkness, a few times he passes by my light, and he's running really fast, still screaming, then trailing him, I see two glowing orbs. I shoot the bandit while he runs with my trusty AK74U, and then two minutes later I finally slay the bloodfucker.
Pictures of said battle:

Crosshair? :colbert:
Crosshair? :colbert:
At least I'm playing on veteran with ONLY AK74U and grenades
So? You are using the crosshair. Plus using just a specific weapon isn't very hard.
Thorny, how was the dialogue? Also, if you guys want a special something for Page 34 be more slow, since I've got a ton of work with a Scientific work for my school right now and I won't be able to shit something out quickly. :smith:

For me, using the crosshair makes the game more enjoyable than without it
I only ever use Anomalies if I have one that negates Radiation, much better.
if i haven't played any stalker games and I own all of them, which one should i start first?

SHOC without mods, then CS, then COP.

Start with SoC :3:
NO FUCKING MODS, JESUS CHRIST. PLAY VANILLA FIRST.
veteran? :colbert:
Don't judge me
I judge whoever I come across :v:

Your avatar is hypnotizing.

I always try to disable crosshair in games that have sights
I'm gonna post way more to hinder Paravin and hopefully get over 34 without the horror.

Tis why I like it also
So In SHOC what do I do now guys? Do I just kill Kruglov, take his shit, and go to Dark Valley to the lab like I'm supposed to,or kill Kruglov, get the psi helmet and mess around in Yantar(which I hate, because of bad memories when I first played SHOC, though I may not hate it anymore now)?
The problem with crosshairs is that they make hipfiring way too good
in vanilla CoP with a fully upgraded SVD there's no reason to even use the scope, you're just as accurate when you're in low crouch and using the crosshair.

I use the crosshair to detect enemies mostly, so I know when I'm aiming at them(really helped out in Agroprom when soldiers were in bushes and behind trees when it was pitch black.

Going into iron sights doesn't decrease displacement that much, when it should greatly increase accuracy over hip-firing.

Usually I go into sights. I usually only hipfire in desperate situations or to try to suppress the enemy (even though there is no suppression for the AI :( )

Best way to fix all this: add a Red Orchestra style aiming deadzone. You can't ever be sure where your gun is exactly pointing, so you can hipfire at short ranges if you're in an emergency but you're lucky if you hit anything. Reduce the deadzone with shotguns since those are kinda meant to be hipfired.

I wish more games had that. I love that style of hipfire.

For now i'll probably just tweak the displacement values so you have to aim in ironsights to have a chance of hitting stuff at longer ranges.
That brings me to something I really hate in STALKER. Shotgun displacement. The spread of the buckshot is affected by accuracy i.e. your stance, ironsights or not etc. That should not happen. What should happen is the buckshot cone drifts from centre randomly based on displacement, it makes absolutely no sense the buckshot cone getting tighter depending on stance.
