If that doesn't work, try finding another controller, getting psy-fucked by it, then killing it.

Yeah I've restarted the game, reloaded a save etc, but to no avail... Where are controllers in red forest?

I had to fight off the military pretty much first thing in OL, before I even had a rifle. Managed to fight them off with only a few casualties, but still no idea how they aggro'd in the first place.

I mean, CoP is still a VERY good game, and now you'll get a discount on it because you've bought SoC. Definitely recommend you get CoP and play it after SoC.

Fucksake, it seems all of the AMK scopes are not centred properly. This means I can only use the OL ones, which drastically limits selection :/

-- use_blowouts = false
to
use_blowouts = true
Please keep in mind I have absolutely no idea if it works.
