I've decided to finally play through at least the first game, so now I'm wondering, are there any mods I should use?

First playthrough should be mod-free.

Fucking Brain Scorcher Anomaly is terrifying me. Making me hallucinate mutants is scary enough without Monolith soldiers somehow avoiding all the INSTANT 100% RADIATION LOL spots :argh: Also goddamn Monolith sure hates me Using a fucking RPG and about 6-7 snipers against me and I'm not even done yet.

Not even. Makes the game much easier. Also, anyone have a link to AMK:SE? The dropbox link that Sidorovich originally posted is broken now.

Can someone draw a big red circle around the Cordon ATP, NLC6 is very hard to play when it doesn't give even a slight idea of where to go.

In Doom's Mod can you convert people to other factions and form them into a squad to follow you? Oh, and arm them with the spoils of your raid.

So I was doing the Brain Scrocher mission, going to deactivate it. I did, Monolith soldiers spawned, started killing them... then one killed me. oh god, they're all dead, I've been busy fighting since I made that last post. we were attacked by military, then the bandits attacked the military, but we were inbetween both groups, then mercs and muties came pouring in, luckily I had killed the military trader and brought his body to the camp, we had RPG's, SVD's, Exos, 2 more satlker suits for the surviving rookies, Spas's, akabans and vintorez's. new rookies had shown up inbetween the assaults, and when the squad of Master's came back to help us, it was like a movie... 3 guys in exo's charging into a group of bandits, pulverising the bastards with their light machine guns (the one you can buy from the military and duty merchants), while the 2 men in SEVA suits armed with a sniper rifle and suppresed AK took up positions in the village, taking out a group of Mercs that had pinned down nimble and Tolik in one of the basements. Nimble died, shot up by a bandit, so did Tolik, thanks to the IL 86 of a merc, by the end of the battle, only 2 of 10 rookies survived, 4 of 5 experienced stalkers lived, but there was only a single one of the expert stalkers left, one of the exo suited men. Now the Expert guards the front of the village, one rookie in a looted beril suit (got it off the military trader's corpse) guards the back with his SPAS shotgun, the other rookie stay seated all day, playing guitar for his companions, the experienced stalkers patrol the camp and relax with the rookie. They are heroes, all of them. Such is life in the zone...

Ok, I'm playing SSgt. Doom's mod as a monolithian. I cleared the barricade, and went back. Now, I am randomly having my screen go fuzzy, I'm shaking, and I'm hearing weird moaning and shit. Is that supposed to happen?

That's the constant effect of the Monolith itself communicating wi-[b]ALL GLORY TO THE MONOLITH[/b] [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] still 4 pages 'till glory to the monolith page however.
