My new freeplay Stalker will be known as Paravin, and he will kill EVERYTHING.
IN HONOR OF THE MONOLITH
Away for little over a day. Oh well I guess I have 702 posts to catch up to. I read basicly all day. 719 new posts. Fuck it. What has happened?
Oh Monolith, bless those who die in righteous service to you oh glorious Monolith
Brothers! Today the Monolith gave me strenght to win many fiery battles!
I smited the enitre Cordon base and blew up their vehichles!
I destroyed the heretic outpost below the cordon bridge!
I fought off hundreds of dogs after being blessed by the Monolith itself!
I recovered many lost Monolith relics and equipment!
ALL GLORY TO THE MONOLITH
I shall talk about it more in Pripyat when I wake up at the campfire in the Library after we are done with the preaching, don't forget to bring your severed stalker head on a rebar pole!
I decided to buy C.O.P a while ago, even with my shitty specs. When I started it up I was delighted to find that it ran at about 70fps at my native resolution (1920 x 1080) on all high, 0xAA. However, I noticed that it was set to use "Static Lighting" or something to that extent so I decided to see how much I could take. After setting it to full HDR DX10, it ran at an average of 8fps, so that obviously wasn't good. I set it to "Object Dynamic Lighting", but, now, every time I try to start the game it immediately tells me the engine has stopped working and CTDs. I found this in my "logs" folder, I'm not sure if it's relevant:

If anyone knows what the problem is, if it's related to the lighting or anything, help would be pretty awesome.
You should have the game crash again and then ctrl+v into the thread. That error log you just posted isn't really helpful.

Dude if you have an essay work on that first! Life comes first, we can wait.

Also this is what the bug reporter came up with:

Mine does the exact same thing when using anything but static, DX10 or DX11 lighting when trying to load up Cordon in CoP...
Anyway, delete your user.ltx file in your documents/stalker CoP folder and the game should launch again.

Hey, that worked, except now the settings are back to default. Such is life in the Ukraine.
Am I the only one playing vanilla clear sky?
Also, after i'm done with that, what's a good overhaul mod for CS?
Hey, that worked, except now the settings are back to default. Such is life in the Ukraine.
Yeah, user.ltx contains all your settings. Change your controls/resolution etc, quit the game, back it up then fiddle with the lighting modes.
you gays wasted the monolith page :smith:
I didn't waste it, I praised the Monolith in all it's glory :smith:
Monolith is stupid anyways.
I'm still really confused on this immunity stuff.

burn_immunity = 0.03 ;êîýôôèöèåíòû èììóíèòåòà ñàìîãî êîñòþìà
strike_immunity = 0.01
shock_immunity = 0.03
wound_immunity = 0.015
radiation_immunity = 0.00
telepatic_immunity = 0.00
chemical_burn_immunity = 0.03
explosion_immunity = 0.03
fire_wound_immunity = 0.01
This is the default stats for monolith suit. Can someone tell me what would happen If I made all the values to zero, and what would happen if I put all the values to 1?
Freedom faction for lyfe!

Putting them to 1 will make the suit immune to becoming damaged by anomalies, bullets, etc.
Putting them to 0 will logically do the opposite, making it extremely susceptible to damage.
[sp]If I remember correctly[/sp]

Never took any. :smith:
Right now I'm rummaging through S.T.A.L.K.E.R Filefront to see if there are any relatively small mods that Doom might find interesting.
It would be cool if it was kind of watered-down in a way similar to most MMORPG's (but not too much), so that gameplay is slower and you don't get a shitload of guns and become a warmonger after a few hours and get bored. Like make weapons and stuff harder to find. Hard to think of an effective way to slow things down.
