A stalker named Snag said that the SVU sniper rifle I was carrying was his and that it was stolen from him, even thought I ordered it specially from nimble and paid 40,000 rubles for it. Well, anyway, I managed to keep the rifle (althought it was a close call). Is he right or was he just trying to be just another clever motherfucker trying to scam me?

Wait for Sgt Doom to post the new patch 0.7, it adds good stuff like STALKERs changing suits if you give them suits and stuff like that. Also they can throw nades, heal themselves and shit like that. Wait for it
Back to my problem though, I've realized that I don't really want to play on DX 8, and my computer isn't powerful enough to run DX 10, but whenever I set the game to run with DX 9 it crashes. Are there any fixes for this or am I stuck in DX 8?

You could try searching through \gamedata\sounds, and if you can find it, replace it with an ogg file with the same name
I tried searching for it myself, and could not find it. It should belong in music though
