We can search for it if you give us the match ID
32661883 Poor Tidehunter.
Sorry, don't know much about it. Is there a penalty/something done against players who just leave early game and grief stuff(fortify/courier)?
Just played against a Wisp and it was the funniest game I've ever played. It made my freaking day. The enemy Wisp kept teleporting his teammates into our fountain and no-one know what was happening until late into the game. This one poor Tidehunter was just constantly teleported. After the second time he just hid in the forest of our base and ate Tangos until he was full health. I felt so bad for him, but it was just so fucking funny. Is there a way to upload replays? It's the funniest match I've ever seen.
That's sad actually. That wisp was complete dick. Imagine this happening to your team, not so funny anymore? Penalties range from Low Priority Queue to Ban or removal from Dota 2 beta.
That "changelog" is so fake its not even funny. I mean "Boots of Speed are now a sharable item" ... come on. "Poison Nova now affects buildings" so what, that was how much - ~1400 dmg to buildings? Believing stuff that came from /vg/? Reddit sure does :downs:

What's bad with Boots of Speed being shareable ? Your support is 0/10/20, getting wards, getting you kills, but keeps getting decimated and can't afford boots, so you decide to be nice carry and get him boots. I support more kindness-based features in Dota.
and half this thread
Some of the stuff is believable, but a huge chunk of it is absolute horse shit. I would not be surprised if there was some legitimate content in there, but a lot of it strikes me as entirely fabricated, or wild ideas being thrown around in preliminary meetings about balance.

And Shelterwood thing? Infinite Tangoes also sound bad.
Anyone here play on US West? For the most part, matchmaking has been eh....
And Shelterwood thing? Infinite Tangoes also sound bad.
10hp/s if you are around trees for ~1400g ? Doesn't sound bad, allows you to keep tango/blade to cut down trees a bit longer into the game. For example against Prohpet or extensive woods-centered fights.
And Shelterwood thing? Infinite Tangoes also sound bad.
Tangoes only add about 7hp per second and it says they don't stack. The cost of the shelterwood is almost of a hand of midas. Doesn't seem unreasonable at all, infact it sounds pretty useless past early game.
shelterwood doesn't sound bad, it's just a way to make buying a quelling blade a more gold-efficient purchase rather than always having to sell it
Damn, didn't know the recipe was so expensive. If it wasn't for that it also seemed unbalanced.
I don't really see the point of the shelterwood when tranquil boots exist. I mean it is nice for clear cutting silly paths in the forest, and I suppose you can start jungling with it sooner than you otherwise could on some heroes. However, it's more expensive than a ring of health for a much narrower use, and doesn't build into anything, plus ring of health can be shared (partially, only you can build it into stuff, but allies can use the regeneration). If you lose the bonus damage of the quelling blade, it's completely useless. It's 2/3rds of a full mek, and mek is an amazing item. This is a sustain item that isn't permanently active, and costs far too much.

I do believe that nothing is final enough to judge its usefulness in comparison to "settled" items. Concept and further ideas for it is what matters.
Obviously, but what do you need more sustain for. 90% of jungling heroes build mek, pipe, or vlads already, and carries that switch into the jungle later get regeneration from battlefury/vanguard (and in druid's case tranquil boots sometimes) What's the point?
Anyone here play on US West? For the most part, matchmaking has been eh....
US east is the meeting point for brs and russians when I first started out dota

The best way to deal with people that use abilities to grief is to disable help. Not sure if this works with all spells, but I think in HoN you could disable help so tiny couldn't troll-toss you into the middle of the enemy team.

I often run into issue on some of the heroes that I would love some lane sustain/regen in general, but I am not typical mek/pipe carrier, Urn is taken, Soul Ring isn't really needed and Ring of Health doesn't build into anything particulary needed. Like my couple last games on BH, I now tend to go for Vanguad, because I need HP regen, I get Mana from Medallion, and VG also helps surviving harder ganks. Before I thought of Vanguard I played without regen, unless enemy had setup that didn't quite require BKB, but Linken's would screw them up bigtime. I want Dota to grow in heroes and items, not for "min-max valiability", but for options. Right now, Mystic Staff, Reaver and Eaglesong got only 2 options of upgrades. I want to see one day 5, 6, maybe more, so that carries can try interesting approaches. Right now Bracer, Talisman and Wraith Band, both got 1 option of upgrades. Those are great "I am starved" items, why not give more options of cost-efficient-but-no-fireworks upgrades like Drums and Aquila ? Quantity has it's own quality, and with Valve and IceFrog combined, I am hoping for both quantity and quality.
Update notes? Guys, seriously, do threads for update notes, TF2 can do it, why can't us?
Update notes? Guys, seriously, do threads for update notes, TF2 can do it, why can't us?
as long as it's not directly their way (a thread for every update) and instead something more like a thread about posting update notes I accept this idea
We should just keep it to major patch notes.
Thread updates are not needed as long as Valve keep the weekly system. Once the games goes out of beta and it's only big updates that can happen at any time, I'm okay for threads. But right now it would just take place for nothing. Ugh. Was just in a game as Venomancer, where unfortunately I had a quite important (but quite short) phone-call. So I ran back to base ASAP and just stood there whilst on the phone. However once the phone-call was finished, I had enough to finish my mek, and started to head towards mid lane where my team was pushing. However, when I just ran past the ancient towers it popped up "Bitter146 (Venomancer) Has abandoned the game. It is now safe to leave" or whatever it says. Seriously what the fuck I was moving and bought an item. Now I have my first abandon. :c I can understand the if they're afk for like 10 or so mins to give an abandon, but for it to say it AFTER I started moving around 5 mins? Come on...
In all honesty, most of those changes are likely placeholder. Some of these changes downright break heroes or completely change their purposes. They wont roll it out without tweaking it.
