Just had a 4 win streak playing with ForgottenKane. We decided to be the worlds biggest dickbags. 1st game we did Veno and Viper combo, it was a 4v4 after 5 mins. 2nd game we did Leshrac and KotL combo (Incredible btw) 3rd game was Zeus and Sniper Ult abuse which was hilarious. In the last game we decided to name ourselves "Team useless #1/2" and play Orge Magi and Alchemist, we laned together and won the game anyway, made their invoker ragequit. Fun night.
Just played a match as Alchemist, and my friend (Chickens) was Ogre Magi, and from what I've been reading in this thread I expected us to suck dick. By mid-game as alchemist I could gank a bloodseeker. Yeah, he's actually a VERY good hero. He's a better lane-pusher than even KotL once he gets his Vlad's. EDIT: Oh hey, he's posting above me.
He's a better lane-pusher than even KotL once he gets his Vlad's.
I still disagree with this.
Axe KotL Fuck this lane hurts. Battle Hunger spam like you've never seen before, and before you say "last hit/deny", try to get close to creeps when you have Axe ready to Call and KotL prepping his Illuminate right away.
I still disagree with this.
Q + R, the entire creep wave dies ASAP. Hell, you can Solo a lane and move it to the T3 tower in under two minutes.
Q + R, the entire creep wave dies ASAP. Hell, you can Solo a lane and move it to the T3 tower in under two minutes.
But KotL only needs 1 button-press per creep wave (maybe with the occasional E) Gotta get that efficiency
But KotL only needs 1 button-press per creep wave (maybe with the occasional E) Gotta get that efficiency
But he has to stand there for 5 seconds.
But KotL only needs 1 button-press per creep wave (maybe with the occasional E) Gotta get that efficiency
There's a lot of time between when he can hit the creep waves. With Alchemist you can just run straight into them and eat them up, then run to the next, then to the next. KotL also depends on his own creep wave tanking. [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] The Q is also optional. The R alone could do it.
You can keep your ulti on cool-down and easily intercept the creeps between the enemy's towers.. And if you get threatened you can always recall the best hero to counter it.
Ugh. Was just in a game as Venomancer, where unfortunately I had a quite important (but quite short) phone-call. So I ran back to base ASAP and just stood there whilst on the phone. However once the phone-call was finished, I had enough to finish my mek, and started to head towards mid lane where my team was pushing. However, when I just ran past the ancient towers it popped up "Bitter146 (Venomancer) Has abandoned the game. It is now safe to leave" or whatever it says. Seriously what the fuck I was moving and bought an item. Now I have my first abandon. :c I can understand the if they're afk for like 10 or so mins to give an abandon, but for it to say it AFTER I started moving around 5 mins? Come on...
Pause function exists. Your fault for not pausing. Whether or not the other team was willing to wait so long is another question, but very few people bitch about a pause every now and again. Just don't do it in teamfights. Now there are some problems with the latest variation of the system where people not getting experience for extended periods of time resulted in abandons, but they tweaked that a while ago as I understand it. A quick search on the dev forums didn't turn up the thread I was looking for, but it's there somewhere. Most of those heroes need far less farm to do this than alchemist does.

Too bad, I'm casting illuminate" "You want to run away from axe? mana leak"
Would OmniKnight+Nyx Assassin counter Axe+Kotl? Battlehunger? Dispel Illuminate? Spiked Carapace On a side note, I was playing WindRunner as a super disabler Euls Hex Force Staff Orchid Pipe Boobs(No Boots)
Considering KotL can just chakra into infinity both him and Axe, you would need an early gank to get mana regen items up. At least Soul Ring for Omniknight.
I wouldn't want to lane omni or nyx with other heroes that need some farm. Omninight is an amazing support, but he needs SOME farm to get rolling. Without it, he's just useless. Once he has a stout shield and a soul ring he can jungle quite efficiently, but without that initial 1k investment he's in a world of pain. Nyx is in the same boat in many ways. Without some initial items he can't do much.

The changelog was true by the way. Here's a bad paint picture of the new Roshan pit. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KwkAO.jpg[/t] And to the ones saying "lolol bullshit", here's the (quite outdated) Beta 5 of 6.75. http://www.mediafire.com/?804x8lwhcn5ntn0

Jungle, or do whatever, but in terms of the numbers, you can clear camps extremely quickly because of the PBAOE nuke that is purification. You can also start roaming with a soul ring and clear camps on the way between points. You can also baby sit and do creep stacking/general support from your jungle for your easy lane. However, you need levels and some gold to do any of this. Either way, he needs soul ring, a bottle, or at least something, to fuel his monstrous mana costs, regardless of what he is doing, be it roaming, supporting, or just farming more. He needs farm. Not a lot to get started, but without it he's a melee support who casts repel on the carry and then runs away for fear of dying, except that he has no stun, and his snare requires him to be in point blank range. He needs to bulk up to have any chance of lasting long enough to accomplish anything. Compared with a VS/CM who both need boots, and eventually need basic health items to not get instantly gibbed, and who can remain nearly fully effective with nothing beyond that, and you can see what I mean. His melee attack combined with his skillset force him to farm, which basically means he cannot lane with your hard carry right off the bat. [editline]14th August 2012[/editline]
could that image be any more confusing
Looks like the dire ancient camp and the rosh pit are effectively trading places. Not exactly, obviously, but you get the idea.
could that image be any more confusing
I just took one I found, gonna make one in Dota 2 real quick.
thanks maruhai you're the best

Here's a playdota forum mod saying it's fake http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1026509
Just played a lesh, had lycan and kotl on my team we got their barracks at 20 mins and ended the game 8 minutes later by pushing another lane, I love pushers
2nd game we did Leshrac and KotL combo (Incredible btw) .
I gotta try this, spamming edict/split/lightning early game must be fun
Me and Bran are both pretty intimidated by playing with real players in fear of being rofl stopped so for the last 2 weeks we've played bot matches. Today we played our second online game and won pretty easily aside from a faceless void and sniper who were damned near impossible to kill.
Here's a playdota forum mod saying it's fake http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1026509
that's a shame, that roshan pit area idea seemed quite nice
Not sure if you should be spamming lightning early game, the mana cost is quite high.
KOTL solves that
Not sure if you should be spamming lightning early game, it pushes your lane quite badly.
FTFY.
FTFY.
With lesh in lane you might actually want to push. Get Chen/Chantress and with levels in Edict/Lightning (1 in split earth, of course) 5 min tower.
What the fuck, I've clicked like 5 times on the Ready button just now from finding games, and 4 of them were people who didn't accept on time or actually declined the match, and one was a failed connection. Dammit people, don't go take a shit while you look for a game!
