Just had an awesome game against a 5 man stack as a solo pubber, and the others on my team were as well.
They had Lycan, Dark Seer, AA, Leshrac and Brewmaster, we already called GG right from the start.
But I went Sven, bought some wards at the start, warded the dire jungle, got the first blood, supported our team with wards and consistent stuns, prevented Lycan from getting anywhere near roshan (but he still got it once after we fucked up). AND WE WON!
I am the Rogue Knight THIS TEAM DESERVES!

Ward easy camps, stack hard camps.
He's forced onto lane, or it delays his levels considerably. Enchantress and chen are actually really good for this because of the abundant snares you can get from creeps, and being able to stack multiple camps at once is very beneficial.
Then once you get a tornado creep you can nuke hard camp stacks for dosh. (May not work since the AI update, I haven't checked)

it doesn't work. Just because you beat a baddie pub lycan like that, doesn't mean you can really keep him under control by simply warding his jungle, even with just a vlads that he can farm in like 3mins, he pushes as hard as lesh and eats your squishies.

Lets also take into account that not everyone plays captain mode.. In all-pick, single-draft, or random-draft: not picking the right heroes will seriously fuck up the game if a lycan appears at the last moment.

I'm going to have to look for it since it was a few months ago but it pissed me off so much that the memory is seared into my memory and it's still haunting me to this date and me to swore that i will never rest till lycan is nerfed.

I'm done arguing with you. Sure, i've won games against lycan too but that doesn't mean he's not broken. If he knows what he's doing and he has a team to back him up, there's no stopping him.

This only prevents lycan from reaching his full potential early on, and gives your team enough time to delay the inevitable (unless you win).
We did the same strategy against Trashcan Dota once in a pub. It worked, but if it did NOT shut him down. It just prevented him from outcarrying our carries. If we didn't finish the game before the 40 min mark, we could have lost.

Pushmeta. Lycan is a pusher, you see brood leshrac np and enchantress banned alot too, theyre all pushers. Any other questions or are you gonna just cut me off and say hes op any way you cut it?

A lot of the pushers are first pick and not necessarily insta ban. Lycan is the only one who gets banned consistently.

Jesus christ atleast try, lycan isnt overpowered hes just a really good pusher. Hes outcarried by literally every farmed carry like it or not. hes not overpowered, you're bad, deal with it.
lycan strong points:
- ungankable unless you put 3-4 heroes or bane onto him
- can farm with incredible ease unless, again, you dedicate multiple heroes to shutting him down or constantly dump money into wards (which he can get rid of with a simple 200 gold, gathering which is incredibly trivial for him)
- retardedly powerful ult on a retardedly short cooldown
- global teamwide steroids
- totally stops teams from playing aggressively unless he is dead, which due to the above is very difficult to achieve
- the best pusher in the game bar none, especially if he builds something like a necrobook
- great stat gains
- great armour
- has two invisible, critting wolves which are powerful enough to gank and kill supports on their own
lycan negatives:
- uhh no stun i guess? (until he builds basher 15 minutes into the game)
- can be outcarried if the lycan's keyboard breaks so the game doesn't end at 30 minutes
- ummm
dark seer strong points:
-ungankable without a purge or multiple stuns
-can farm insanely fast and unstoppable with ionshell even as a sidelane solo
-ultimate that wins teamfights by itself and makes your own team your enemy
-7 second max movespeed buff with a 9 second cooldown lets you move at max ms at almost all times
-massive aoe from vaccuum which synergies with many abilities and other ultimates
-the best turtle hero in the game bar none
-builds tanky and has very good stat gains
-very good armor
-ion shell does ridiculous damage early and even mid game
dark seer negatives:
-ion shell falls off??
-kind of countered by silencer but not really
you can do this for any hero, it doesnt prove anything
and dark seer is also great, what's your point? are you trying to say "dark seer exists therefore lycan isn't overpowered"? because that is a retarded argument
Actually, I like how someone described Lycan before. Not sure who though.
Lycan is essentially big angry creep. He has no form of affecting enemy, other than damaging them.
He can summon wolves, for scouting, but mainly for damage.
He can increase his/allies/minion damage.
His passive effectively increases his damage.
His ultimate gives him MS, some health and mostly damage/chance to do damage.
Nothing else, no utility whatsoever.
Anti-Mage has mini-stun, manaburn and blink. Faceless void has bash, blink, dodge and AoE disable. Naga Siren has snare, - armor aoe nuke, pause button and illusions, etc.
Lycan has only damage, a lot of it, but only damage.

are you dumb? i said you can make a list for any hero that overdoes its strong points and it doesnt prove a thing
also why are people saying "if you gank lycan he's not so much of a threat!"? that applies to [B]every jungler in the game[/B] (and arguably every hero), it's not something that is specific to Lycan. in addition he is one of the few that can actually bounce back from being ganked hard with ease so if anything it applies even [I]less[/I] to him.

so what are lycan's weaknesses?
I think the biggest problem with lycan is that he has extremely strong ganks, can solo rosh very early, and is a pusher that can spiral out of control if he feeds off one of your squishy teammates
