I think the most OP hero in the game is Riki, not Lycan.
You people whine about how much effort it takes to shut down a Lycan, but seem to forget that each invis detection item costs 180-200 gold and lasts a brief amount of time, and gem of true sight drops on death and makes you a huge target.
Even if you do see Riki, he doesnt give a fuck. He can just pop smoke and blink away. And if he is attacking you, you cant really run, because turning your back on him makes him deal bonus damage.

honestly they're both pretty stupid
though lycan has a more stupid rightclick while riki has a more stupid anti-anti-invisibility

You still think Dota 2 is a solo game?
Riki has so many counters and when caught with pants down, blink away to team (if you can) or stay and fight/die.
Also, dust of appearance is a great necessity if you don't plan to ward up the wazoo or get a gem.

And thats the problem. To get the privilege of ganking a Riki, you need to pay 180 gold. And even then its not 100% guaranteed that he will die, just like with all ganks.
Even if he does fall off a bit, he can just stay near a teamfight or even a creepwave, completely invisible, and get experience, maybe stealing kills/dropping smoke once in a while.

Get diffusal, goodbye enrage and overpower.

Drop wards near where your team is pushing. Laugh at how fragile he is.
Unless of course you've already fed him, in which case it's your own bloody fault.
Riki is only good at 1v1 if he only has his Diffusal blade.
If he goes something like MoM + Basher he's just idiot and you should feel bad for dying to him, he also dies quite fast regardless of items he has. His escape abilities are quite unreliable and you usually can kill him during the time he's dusted.
Also, Slardar beats the shit out of him. Once he has his ult on Riki he just explodes beneath the might of fish-mutant-guardian.

He has a wide AoE silencing and slowing smoke screen. With diffusal blade he can purge track/slardar`s ultimate/dust. How is he only good 1v1?

Did I mention his high strength gain?
Bounty hunter is a great counter to riki from what I've seen.
Just use track on him.

just use smoke on him

You make it sound so simple and easy.
Once he gets Diffusal Blade, he can purge it off himself.
If bounty is doing his job right, Riki will never get diffusal blade.
You make it sound so simple and easy.
it's easy in lane, I haven't been able to pull it off when i'm hunting though. I wonder, would an orb of venom stack with the slow from the smoke?
If bounty is doing his job right, Riki will never get diffusal blade.
Or if Riki is playing right, Bounty will never gank him.

Bounty Hunter used Track!
Riki's evasiveness has fallen
Just walk out of the smoke and wait for riki to try to either attack or blink to a creep. You should catch him easily.
guys, i cant enter a game
connection to the server exceeded the number of retries it said
anyone experienced the same shit?

Track doesn`t silence or slow. Riki can just smoke and run away to the nearest tower, and BH is too squishy to tower dive.

god rubick is just like a Big Plays Machine
stole void's chrono, paused him when he tried to initiatite with his own and then sand king epicentered and blinked in to wipe out half their team
later i stole time walk, totally dodged pudge after he hooked he then grabbed his hook and pulled him into my team
ugnnhh this hero

I once stole Swap from VS, then about 20 seconds later swapped someone away from Pudge and Dismember'd him.
Or if Riki is playing right, Bounty will never gank him.
(smoke and blink away)
Blink strike is nowhere near as reliable as, say, Anti-Mage's blink. There needs to be a creepwave coming in, and then no more blinking for the next 30 seconds. He's pretty damn squishy, so as long as you don't sit right in the cloud wondering why you can't cast spells early on, then it should be pretty simple to stun and burst him down.
Riki's biggest strength is probably his ability to pick apart scattered teams in the mid-game. If he can get a few kills from people roaming around the map, then that'll let him finish diffusal, and then relentlessly kill anyone out of position. That gives him his strength in pubs, since team cohesion is pretty low, and he can feed off of that. That's pretty much all he excels at, though, since he's not as good of a farmer compared to the carries that have reliable escape mechanisms, and farming squanders his ult. Gank him if he's farming, and stick together if he's roaming, and Riki loses a lot of his power.
Sigh, why do people think the only reason to report someone is because they're bad? You can't report someone for being bad anyway.

What is force staff?
Your team should have one to two of them in every game anyways. Build three against riki. Changing your item build to counter heroes is a fundamental aspect of the game. If you don't, it's your own damn fault.
The real problem I see is morons not taking appropriate measures to deal with riki. There is no excuse to feed a vlads first riki. He has no way to immobilize you and does slightly more than kittens for damage, yet I see it time after time after time.
you dont need diffusal blade if you have sange and yasha...
how could anyone ever say riki is an op hero, he's one of the most easily counterable pubstompers in the game, if not THE
and if a riki gets vlads first he deserves to feed. diffusal is 6-8 free kills if you have a team
Spending 180 or 200 gold every time you want to gank someone is not "the most easily counterable hero". How can you deny this. Even Lycan doesnt require you to spend money to gank him, just enter the jungle and kill his sorry ass.

In the time it took to kill Lycan (He probably escaped) you would miss several creep waves (gold and xp) and risk dying, due to the fact a good Lycan doesn't jungle at 3 hp like a tard.
Spending 180 gold to kill Riki 2 times is a rather fair trade, considering you get 460 gold for it.
You can also get a gem for 800 to kill him infinite times.
my god i fucking love rubick
has to be my favourite hero right now, just so fucking versatile

So you are implying that Lycan knows how to use his skills (which are limited to Ultimate, somewhat wolves if blocking applies) that help him escape enemies, and Riki just ALT-F4s when dusted ?
No offense, but I think we need numbers and replay-data here, as this quarrel will just go on and on as this fixation on Lycan's power is just absurd.

But you are not missing out on several creep waves trying to catch Riki off guard in order to dust him?
A good Lycan? Okay then.
A good Riki checks the enemies' inventories constantly for invis detection, and also doesn`t farm at 3 hp like a tard. At late levels he actually becomes really tanky, what with his Strength Gain of 2 (compared to AMs 1.2) + armor from his massive Agility Gain.
I just did the same thing you did, and we can keep doing this forever.
