shitty wizard isn't an inside joke
As Dogchow33 said, it's a Valve inside joke where Valve referred to one of their employees as the "shitty wizard" who is responsible for all Dota 2 bugs. You can find said reference in the Valve Employee Handbook, on the last page.
I'll be honest I never noticed the ponytail on dk

So I want to play some Visage. I feel worse for my teammates than when I decided to play Pudge.
So, anyone knows how will these Banners work ? Do we pick one at start of International ? Do we buy them ?
they might add it to the store once the international is over, of course on not so special quality
They confirmed it was exclusive to the crate. All three of them (Turtle Rider, Drodo and Lockjaw).
So I want to play some Visage. I feel worse for my teammates than when I decided to play Pudge.
I swear to god, I hate to call things unbalanced, overpowered or underpowered, but I have to make exception here (and ofc for Lanaya spilling off illusions). His Familiars need some sort of buff, they are food even if you are good with them. Their utility is very limited, Stone Form has long cooldown, their damage drops extremely quickly, neutrals aggro them. Lots of drawbacks, little fun. I mean, first thing that they could add that isn't far fetched is bringing back neutral creep sleep, i.e. like in WC3, when creeps slept at night and only direct hit woke them up. This could make night-visage way more bearable. [editline]21st August 2012[/editline]
They confirmed it was exclusive to the crate.
So I want to play some Visage. Anyways, I played pudge maybe 2-3 games ago and I do pretty bad and missed half my hooks. I also get matched with this kunkka that only rages at the team so he's like "I hope I don't get matched with this pudge again" but in broken english. Next game, I get matched with the kunkka and he feeds and gives up and as usual, blames the team. I got a rare though so maybe it's valves way of saying sorry I got matched with that kunkka.
Dota 2 is like Valve's favorite child, lol.
They took up project cause they had a group of devoted fans of the mod in the company. They got crushed during some tournament and this brought rest of Valve's attention to the mod. + It's just Valve showing quality they are puting in this title. Don't forget, it's international, highly competetive and potentially limitless in terms of developing. It's like their own Starcraft II. Also, here's a thinker. Most of Dota 1 abilities were made directly from WC3 abilities. I know there have been lots and lots of twists, had work and tinkering, but in the end abilities of hereos were limited by the engine. Do you think we will see completely new kinds of stuff like disables, orb effects, passives ? Source is quite flexible, I would love to see what Valve and IceFrog will come up with after 100% of transition from Dota 1.

Oh, and Visage is a pain to play. [editline]21st August 2012[/editline]
. In fact we've already seen some things like kunka and Qblade fixed, but there are some limitations that are good. Orb effects not stacking is annoying, plain and simple, but I see it as a good thing. There are some effects that would be broken if you could combine them with other effects, and having it as a hard rule that they do not stack allows for the existence of those effects.

But those limitations are actually balance features, they probably were tech issue at first, but IceFrog learned how to work using that as a feature. Now with Source we could see some cool stuff happen. Orb effect that allows you to attack allies, healing them equally to damage you deal ? Ability that transforms area of terrain into a cliff with all it's benefits (vision and miss chance from below) ? (Just whacky stuff from the top of my head, no balance taken into account)

Wasn't dota balanced around orb effects not stacking
If Icefrog ever makes a Earth Spirit to go with Storm and Ember Spirit, this ability would be perfect.
It might be. Or it might not be. If it's possible, then it's all that matters, because I trust Valve and IceFrog to have better ideas than me, but my lack of knowledge about Source is what makes me uncertain.
And World Elite too, secret last minute contenders?
They're the sub teams, incase one of the teams couldn't make it for whatever reason.

Na'vi doesnt' have an elimination line.
Eh. A bit of a bummer that banners are purchaseable. Well, guess money goes to the team, that's good. Now to pick. Na'Vi is no-brainer, but I feel like going fancy and getting the M5 one.

The pennant system sounds interesting, but I don't like that you have to buy them.
