There are only a handful of "uncodeable" things in the WC3 engine...
Dynamically modifying attack range
Buff Timers
Manipulation of cooldowns, checking cooldowns.
Detecting whether damage comes from spells or from attacks.
Detecting critical strikes/bashes/evasion.
Spell Reflection

Why not use clarities? 3 gold cheaper, and assuming you use 50 branches thats 150 gold off for your team. Although I'm probably overanalyzing it and it doesn't matter at all.
