I love Resident Evil 1.
"Barry, watch out! It's a monster!"
Then you get to watch Barry load 3 Magnum rounds into the zombie to kill it. Barry, RIP.
Did anyone here ever actually beat Resident Evil Zero? I got stuck at one point and just gave up. Managing two characters by yourself is really hard.
i did
there really weren't very many enemies in the game
and the boss fights were really non threatening and easy to kill
I didn't like RE5 cause of the stupid companion thing they put in.
RE1-4 I reckon are pretty fun.

Yeah, you hate it for being a coop game? Makes perfect sense. It's that way, because you cannot reach certain areas without a helping hand. Judging from the sheer endless fun I had playing the coop with my friends I'm glad they made this game.

They only put those areas because of the co-op.

It used to be single player (and there used to be like 20-30 majini on screen at a time)
I dont like the new ones. They made a great survivalhorror series into a generic shooter.
If anyone were to say that RE sucked, it would be because of this IMO.
They just feel too easy and not scary at all nowadays with the plaga and uroboro bullshit.

The beta videos and images looked so much better. Everything looked more fluid and harder, as you had 20+ all throwing weapons at you.
There's no hate for 1-0, only hate for 4 and 5, which, in my opinion, were shit and not RE games.
RE4 was awesome because it was a complete new way to make survival horror. The game wasn't focusing on the global tension anymore, but on the constant stress linked to the fact there are way too much enemies to afford wasting bullets. You have to use your skills, while being under pressure. Sadly, it can hardly be called a Resident Evil game : the plot underused, hardly linked to the rest of the series, the atmosphere should've been heavier (like in Dead Space), etc.
This is only my own sight of these type of games, but playing RE:4 and Dead Space on hard difficulties made them as scary as the first RE at their time.
Resident 1,2 ,3 and code veronica are the only true resident evil game that emphasize on horror than action. Resident Evil 4 and 5 feels like an action movie than a horror survival game.
Although, it's not really polite, nor needed to "insult" me in that way.
This is the internet and FP, what did you expect?
RE4 was great, loved it.
RE5 in my opinion... sucked. I wanted a merchant to buy stuff of of, and nothing really changed gameplay wise.
Also, I don't understand how anyone could hate RE4. It was awesome! I don't think I could name a single flaw except for maybe some of the enemies who can cheap 1 hit kill you and MAYBE the quick time events.
[editline]1st November 2010[/editline]
I liked RE5 except for the fact that it was a fucking glorified escort mission throughout the entire game. Oh and the Chris Redfield model that came with the collectors edition was a cheap pile of crap.

re4 was a solid game, most people couldn't accept the change while others praised it for adapting a new formula
re5 turned a solid >SINGLE PLAYER< franchise and streamlined it with coop gimmicks. SURE the game is fun in coop but RE games aren't supposed to be coop.

I hated both the movies and the games.
Resident Evil 4 and 5 are not Resident Evil and you can't compare the them with the first ones fairly
Resident Evil 4 and 5 are not Resident Evil and you can't compare the them with the first ones fairly
Using your logic would be like saying that World of Warcraft is not Warcraft since it's not an RTS.
I find it humorous that the OP is talking about hate towards the original Resident Evil formula, even though communities tend to aggregate towards the newer Resident Evils(4 and 5) being bad. With that said, the original games are considered a classic and are praised for their gameplay. In my opinion, all of the Resident Evils were a great success despite different gameplay approaches. The older Resident Evils had horror written all over them, while the newer ones are mainly shooters with RPG elements attached.
I like Resident Evil 5 the most, but that may be because I've only played it in co-op with my brother.
Resident Evil 4 and 5 are not Resident Evil and you can't compare the them with the first ones fairly
Your logic is retarded and you are dumb.
they changed the style of the game that means it's an entirely new game series

This kind of proves you don't know much about me and are just being the coolest kid you can be. A shit ton of people don't like me on FP.
Isn't that how Resident Evil: Outbreak worked?
No, that was a TBS with synchronized swimming elements in it. It was really of it's own.
I loved all the games, including Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica.
Resident evil 0 and Code Veronica were my favourites, nothing beats mutated monkeys.
Try killing the monkeys with nothing but Molotov Cocktails
Resident Evil: Outbreak is my favorite RE. I'd hate to admit it, but I cried a little when Capcom announced they were shutting down the North American servers.
RE1-4 were all racist too
RE1-3 all caucasians RACIST

idiot.

I agree, the 4 player multiplayer was hilariously fun.
You're an idiot. There are black zombies in RE1. Well, there's Kenneth...and.....ya...Kenneth.
I also loved RE4, but I loved it as an action game. It's a shitty Resident Evil game.
I also loved RE4, but I loved it as an action game. It's a shitty Resident Evil game.
How is it a bad RE game?
I'm assuming Capcom wanted to continue the franchise with a good plot rather than a horror theme.
