:( but i like pikachu Guess its time to get more Pokemon
To anyone who doesn't like the Pokemon games after G/S/C, I really suggest trying R/S/E. If you think the Pokemon there suck, you'll get used to it, after a while when you can remember their names just by the picture, which isn't too long, you can really connect to them and see that they're cool. Also the way R/S/E feels is just awesome, the game's makers really learned from their previous games and put this 3rd gen one step forward to a complete and perfect game. The plot may be kind of stupid, and I mean what they evil guys are trying to accomplish and how you stop them, but it's like this in every Pokemon game, and in R/S/E the "subplot" as in, how you start your journey and the things which happen to you along, are really cool and set the mood just right. So in short: Don't hate it 'till you try it.
I'm going to start training my 4 level 1 Pichus who all have volt tackle to level 100.
Pikachu is pretty bad. I only caught one to beat Misty, and it still cant. I want a Voltorb. What Electric Pokemon should i get instead?
Also, aside from nostalgia feelings, FireRed\LeafGreen > Red\Blue. There's not one thing better in the original Red and Blue except for their nostalgia (which is still in the new versions, but to a lesser extent).
Just another way that Yellow dicked you over at every possible opportunity. I mean seriously. The first gym leader was Brock, meaning you had to catch a Pidgey or Caterpie and struggle by as he annihilated you with his dick-hard rock Pokemon. Then, by the time you finally beat him, you've already rendered Pikachu completely useless because the other Pokemon in your party are miles ahead of it level-wise.
Or catch a Mankey and get super-effectives with low-kick.
What Electric Pokemon should i get instead?
Depends where you are. I have always liked Magneton. But if you do like Pikachu, im sure you can train it still to make it good.
Or catch a Mankey and get super-effectives with low-kick.
That's true, but unless you do that, you'd better get used to seeing "It's not very effective..." because it's going to pop up every other fight if you use Pikachu. Yellow was more of a novelty than anything because you could start the game off as "Ash" instead of Red or Blue and live the cartoon, except that Brock will annihilate you and Misty is a cruel bitch.
Pikachu is a 2nd stager of a full 3 stage chain, it's meant to be a pussy. It's fine, learn to not use shit pokemon.
Oh good another 100 pokemon just what we need.

The games get hard to get used to, the pokemon are so much different, but a good little game to pick up, plus you can trade some stuff to HG/SS to get Raquaza there! I think this game changed the franchise as a whole and is overlooked too much.
Actually I didn't play Emerald that much. Right now I'm on a Nuzlocke run in Sapphire so if it goes bad I'll start an Emerald one. Also It's a lot more fun to play a the Nuzlocke challenge on these newer games, because there's a lot more variety of Pokemon at the start as opposed to pigdey/rattara plus nidoran in that side route to the league and then the weedle/caterpie. And if you're playing a regular run of R/S/E you could have 6 different and unique Pokemon by the time you get to the first gym.
Oh god. I found that my friend loves electric types. Guess what my team is? EFFING FLYING AND WATER. I need a ground type, any ideas? [editline]07:39AM[/editline] I should do a Nuzlocke run sometime, I need some challenge, What game should I do it on? I have, in order of me caring about reseting the save, HeartGold, Diamond, Emerald, FireRed. (Ruby is borrowed to my friend). Sorry if this is forumspam, I have little time to ask all these questions before school D:
Fuck, wrote a bunch of stuff and it got deleted. Basically: R/S/E -> More Pokemon variety but harder gym leaders. R/B -> Less variety but easier gym leaders. So start with red or blue and when you're done with it \ fail miserably, move to R/S/E. [editline]04:24PM[/editline] Oh yeah and I use a "certain program" for my Nuzlocke challenges, because I don't want to delete my saves or the game won't save at all (saves deleted after turning off).

Water/ground. How awesome is that? It's water, which gives him an advantage, but then its ground, and negates electric moves! Beware of grass moves though
Oh god. I found that my friend loves electric types. Guess what my team is? EFFING FLYING AND WATER. I need a ground type, any ideas?
Garchomp Swampert Flygon
Flygon is awesome

[editline]01:28PM[/editline] Bonus if you use Electrivire and he uses an electric attack on you. MOTOR DRIVE.
Sorry Gliscor, I'm too busy raping you to let you have #1 Ground Pokemon.
Sorry Gliscor, I'm too busy raping you to let you have #1 Ground Pokemon.
Uber tier, sorry, disqualified. Oh and, One dead Garchomp.
Uber tier, sorry, disqualified.
Doesn't make sense if something's the best of course it'll be in Uber, else it wouldn't the best.
Doesn't make sense if something's the best of course it'll be in Uber, else it wouldn't the best.
Then its Ice punch/Shard Weavile up in this bitch.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/12721408624382.jpg[/img_thumb]
I can already see the tentacle rape r34.
Hey, my lvl 42 Pikachu's stats are pretty low, anyone know why? Most of its stats are around 50-70, with speed being the only exception at 90. Most of my other Pokemon have atleast 70 on most stats at lvl 40. The Pikachu was raised from an egg on my Diamond to level 19, then traded to my SoulSilver and trained to level 42
Option A: Evolve it. Option B: Give it a Light Ball, this doubles its Attack and SpAttack in battle while held. Also, DO NOT allow it to take a hit. It'll die from the lowliest tackle; even things it resists can kill it. [editline]02:27PM[/editline] Also, you guys all just lost.
I shall get Electrivire, Weavile, Garchomp and Gliscor from my platinum straight to my soulsilver. Or, at least an electrizer among those 4.
Oh noes fire damage.
