Okay so I've done some reading on EV training and I've been doing what is hopefully EV training my Staryu.
From what I understand while EV training you get an EV point for each Pokemon you kill, right? So if I kill 50 Girafarig's and I get +2 EV points to my Special Attack EV in the end I'll have 100 EV points in my Special Attack? Even if it says there's only 95 or so points in my Special Attack when I level up?

Every 4 ev's is one relative stat point.
So with every 4 EV's I get an extra point when I level?
Theoretically, yes.

Already beat The Elite four on Fire-Red.

I'm at the ghost gym, the Gengar is pretty annoying with it's LOL UBERspeed and shadow ball that OHKO's all but my starter.

I have bite on Broconaw, but he still dies in two hits, and it'll take at least 4 to bring him down. I guess I'll just have to train.

Crunch is learned at level 30, but that's the limit of my level thingy, you know, before they start snoozing or something

You could just train your starter to lv 100 at the first grass patch
Only if you had infinite time and patience.
The limits are there to discourage you trading over a level 100 and breezing through the game.
That being said, you can trade over a level 100 and it would eventually do a move and kill it for you, as they'd never kill a level 100 if you didn't want them to.

So I go into this stupid cave, really far back, forget repels, can't find any gible, then I talk to some girl so she follows me.
Can't use dig or escape rope.
No repels.
No flash.
NO GIBLES, "This is not the cave you are looking for."
I have to hike all the way out, fight numerous trainers, FINALLY get to the exit, go to the [i]other, [b]secret[/b] cave[/i], and catch a Gible which I trade to HeartGold because I was too lazy to mess around the safari zone.

Im about 15 levels away from my Metagross.
Im only up to Vermillion City.
By the way, in using that pokeball website, it suggests i use a Heavy Ball or Level Ball on a level 7 Registeel.
Are those even in Firered?
In my fire-red I have a level 96 Sceptile that I traded from Saphire.
