Watch the starters not even Been grass, fire or water. They did say this series would be different then normal.
Any ideas what types they would make them if not fire/water/grass?
What other 3 types would compliment each other?

Psychic would be the most useful out of those I think. In my experience psychic rapes almost all elemental types, with very little weaknesses.

Psychics also tend to have very low Defence and Sp. Defence stats so Gym Leaders would rape you if you didn't get a good first hit.
But that's the problem. I do. The first three generations are made so much easier if you have a Kadabra. Never played 4 but I presume it's the same.
My Gengar has shit for Defense but he has 121 Speed and 153 Sp. Attack. Everything dies in front of his Shadow Ball.
Fighting is super effective vs 5 other types too, matching ground type for offensive abilities. I think it makes more sense to have grass/water/fire but have secondary types on second/third evolutions that set them apart.
Fire/Fighting would be such a cop-out.
The new starters silhouette look ok, apart form the one on the left.
Hope the one on the left looks sweet in full detail though, because on shape alone, it's looking like the worst starter design.

Top being Grass would fit with almost all Grass starters being 4 legged.
I think the design of the "Fire Left" above is cool. Like Wingedwizard said though, most pokemon look shitty in silhouette.

I kind of like the grass-bird thing too, it could evolve into a Grass\Flying Pokemon which could be really cool, problem is that fire-pig doesn't look so good.

Does anyone know if you can SR for shiny Kanto starters after defeating Red? I mean, with the Johto starters you can see before you pick up the ball if it's shiny. Do the Kanto starters appear shiny too in their preview images?
