I just find it shocking that they cannot or choose not to listen or every TRY to find out public opinion on their games or the state of gaming. It's like they look at the reviews they bribed to be > 90% and think "Hmm we did good". Most parents could solve the issue, most of the players I see are <18 and shouldn't even own the damn game much less defend the living hell out of it when mature people who have spent good money are getting diddled. However on the upside I have won a bet on the basis one of my friends thought they wouldn't be stupid enough to release DLC before they patched the stutter.
Are you really trying to tell us that releasing Modern Warfare AGAIN is innoviative? Jesus christ what is it with CoD Developers and their pedestals.
I actually enjoy some of the Call of Duty games, but this guy sounds like a pretentious asshole. Call of Duty does well by not being innovative. Everyone knows that. I fucking played MW2 for like 14 days of play time. They are the best generic shooter around. But that's all they are. They can control the media with their bags of money and create massive hype. I still enjoy playing the games, but they aren't really anything special. Other than having a giant community, they don't have much else. Oh well, I'm sure he'll bite his words in a couple of more games. I can't wait for the bell curve to finally hit. Then they will realize how "Innovative" they really are.
Idiot developers who only want to line their pockets don't know what innovation is.
I'm surprised no one took a look at EA when MoH started to nosedive and realised that it's pretty much written law that franchises are doomed to eventual failure. Something is amiss.
"It's a creative industry - the most creative form of entertainment in existence. Too many developers who try new things are getting burned by "pundits" and angry entitled fans who look to be contrarian, sometimes simply for the sake of being contrarian.
I have to agree to this. Developers who try something new get shunned because, "It's not like CoD.". Call of Duty has been playing it safe and unfortunately has been succeeding.
I have to agree to this. Developers who try something new get shunned because, "It's not like CoD.".
The only time that happens is when they try to make it like CoD and fail.
Treybuchet says 'Angry developers threaten fun'
PERHAPS WE ARE ANGRY FOR THE FACT THAT YOUR SHITTY HALF-ASSED EXCUSES FOR MAP PACKS ARE THE PRICE OF A SWEET DINNER YOU BLIND, THICK SKULLED MORONS Why is it that big companies cannot, for the life of them, see what we want and listen to our advice on how to make a game not fucking suck.
Because obviously their games "fucking suck" when they are factually one of the top 3 best grossing video games to ever be created. Of course they dont take your damn advice, you are a minority how do you not get this.
Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good.
good is subjective
Eventually Treyarch will stop pretending to give a shit and start naming every CoD the same way new threads in Lmao pics are named
Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good.
This.
Isn't the otherway around? Lack of innovation threatens gamers
Eventually Treyarch will stop pretending to give a shit and start naming every CoD the same way new threads in Lmao pics are named
well when they tried naming it call of duty 3 everyone called it shitty and even infinity ward disregarded it's existence!
Call of Duty died for me when I played Finest Hour.
Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good.
He's not saying it's good, he's saying that if people still pay good money for it, they're fucking stupid not to keep doing more of it until people stop buying it!
Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good.
It does mean its good in the eyes of someone, namely the casual gamers.
well when they tried naming it call of duty 3 everyone called it shitty and even infinity ward disregarded it's existence!
It failed because it was aimed at consoles.
Eventually Call of Duty will get old. All franchises do. When that happens, no developers will want to work for Activision, and Activision will have run another decent franchise into the ground, just like they did with Tony Hawk's, just like they did with Guitar Hero, and just as they will with Call of Duty.
Jeezus, Treyarch are a bunch of idiots. First they attack players exploiting Black Ops' glitches, instead of actually shipping a product of better quality or fixing it. And now they are talking about people killing innovations, while they gave CoD4 a new coat of paint last year and sold it as Black Ops. Haha, sod off.
Because Treyarch is a pioneer in innovation right?
Do I ever regret not buying MW2 and buying Black Ops instead, thinking they would have learned and made it an actual game. This really is, the last COD game I will have ever bought. The multiplayer is just not fun.
Gamer says 'Stupid Treyarch is stupid'.
I'd say they were pretty innovative in taking guns in 1968, and putting flip up iron sights made in the early 2000s on them, backwards.
Because re-releasing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the fourth time is really innovative.
COD4 was awesome, first of all. They're re-releasing MW2 all the time though, same basic design that they keep "using".
Because re-releasing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the fourth time is really innovative.
The new zombie mode is so innova-oh wait..
Because obviously their games "fucking suck" when they are factually one of the top 3 best grossing video games to ever be created. Of course they dont take your damn advice, you are a minority how do you not get this.
So if I were to shit a fuckload of shit and start selling it as game, and it would sell more than any other actual games combined, would it be the greatest game?
I sort of agree with what he's saying, and if anyone else said it it probably would get more support, but seriously? You're the community manager for Call of Duty.
COD4 was awesome, first of all. They're re-releasing MW2 all the time though, same basic design that they keep "using".
what how did they re-release mw2 with world at war when world at war came out before it????
Seriously. I miss the days of call of duty 2 where it actually was fun to play it. Now its all either AC130 ABOOOVE RAPEEE SPAWN KILLLZZZZ or CHOPPA GUNNEEER SPAWWWN RAAAAPEEE. I use to like to sneak around as sniper shooting people and holding the headquarters. Now i just either get raped by lag (black ops) or raped by gay with a choppa gunner.
