Ok, so basically, they just gave everyone a reason not to listen to anyone.....great, now Treyarch is the next company to slowly sink down the shitter, thanks to Activishit and the fucking CoD franchise... [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] Personally, I think CoD stopped being good after CoD2....
No, there are not.
http://www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/kit-shortcut
i miss the tactic00l weapons from mw2 i actually liked them like that
http://www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/kit-shortcut
And you realize every single one of these weapons and be unlocked in 4 days ? before level 10 ? So what's the point ? at least it's not a 15 dollar hat that is almost impossible to get by normal means.
It's very rare these days to see game franchises that are not just milking consumers. Call of Duty games sell massive amounts solely because of it's name, not the actual content. If some obscure company were to make a game and call it "Call of Duty", it's going to sell a lot because consumers are familiar with the name and have predetermined expectations of what the game will be. I would say TES and GTA are good examples of games that actually get better every time because they are backed by people who are really trying to make something that is in spite of the game, and not in spite of the money being made. For companies like Activision or EA, making games is an equation of prerequisites that result in money. In other words, too little or too much business ruins games. Companies need resources to make good games, but their interest needs to be in the game and not the business of making the game.

Yes I do realize those weapons are easy as piss to get, I had the game and played it to hell and back. The point is its there for people who don't like spending time unlocking stuff and hate being denied full access right off the bat or for people who aren't very good at the game and are finding its taking too long to unlock stuff.

Sorry, my bad.
I can finally say that I am finally sick of Call of Duty or something better: tired of it. I find myself playing classic and old shooters on the PS2 and PC back from Late 90s to 2006, before Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Fixed
cool you took my remotely intelligent post and added a meme you are a regular jokester arent you?
Super Mario *insert title here* because of fucking nostalgia.
I have to disagree with this part right here. Most mario games manage to be pretty innovative (save for Mario Party games and Mario Galaxy 2). Look at Mario Galaxy from Super Mario sunshine (even Sunshine to SM64). They manage to keep the core formula in place, but add in something that will make it a completely new experience. The water pack changed the entire way the game went, and the galaxies made for interesting platforming. And don't forget Super Paper Mario, which has to be one of the most innovative platforming games released by a big developer ever.
The reason why Call of Duty games sell so well is because 90% of the target audience isn't gamers.
Hey they are innovative! They finally released a map pack that didn't consist of previous maps. Hell even Modern Warfare 2 had maps from Call of Duty 2 in it
Hey they are innovative! They finally released a map pack that didn't consist of previous maps
they released a map pack consisting of maps that were taken out of the final game lmao
The reason why Call of Duty games sell so well is because 90% of the target audience isn't gamers.
no it's because they are fun games i'm happily willing to prove my "gamer" cred to anyone but i enjoy call of duty because i have friends and we enjoy playing games together are we somehow not "gamer" enough simply because we enjoy a game, or is it your own childish notions reinforcing a community that doesn't exist, IE "PC Gamers".
they released a map pack consisting of maps that were taken out of the final game lmao
Probably
Call of Duty games sell massive amounts solely because of it's name
absolutely wrong, most of my friends buy the game because they like the gameplay, everyone from hardcore nerd dudes to lazy stoners
The first two and even Call of Duty 4 were all pretty good. The first two put them on the map, CoD4 was new and fresh. The rest is Money Milking and rehashed shit from the previous games, including gameplay, sound effects, animations
Probably
no there isnt a "probably" the maps are literally on the disc
i might actually buy call of duty if not for the fact that they release a new one every year i mean whats the point of buying it if nobody is going to be playing it next year
To those who saying "Activision are the death of the gaming industry, they're going to start forcing you to pay for patches!" Paradox Interactive already does this, Mount and Blade Warband, and several expansions for Hearts of Iron 3 and Europa Universalis are all glorified bugfixes.
no it's because they are fun games i'm happily willing to prove my "gamer" cred to anyone but i enjoy call of duty because i have friends and we enjoy playing games together are we somehow not "gamer" enough simply because we enjoy a game, or is it your own childish notions reinforcing a community that doesn't exist, IE "PC Gamers".
I agree with you 100%. I've played MW2 more than any game ever. I know it's not the "best" game out there or the most hardcore, but it is amazingly fun. In fact, I don't consider it to be my favorite game by a long shot. However, it's a great game to come home to after work or school and just fool around for a few hours. You guys are just over exaggerating the issues with the game.
Holy FUCK Treyarch.
You guys are just over exaggerating the issues with the game.
and i absolutely remember why back when it was first announced MW2 would have no dedicated servers suddenly a small vocal and annoying minorities started screaming that it was the death of pc gaming and competitive games and bla bla bla since people even on the internet love to conform this kind of fake imaginary movement was started, even leading into the point of people making a steam group dedicated to not buying the game of course it would be obvious almost all the people in the "boycott group" would end up playing the game massively and i'm willing to bet a lot of money that most people who act activision just do it because it's what is accepted and of course no-one can resist being part of a group and ridiculing someone else, likely considering most people who avidly game had childhoods punctuated by ridicule
I agree with you 100%. I've played MW2 more than any game ever. I know it's not the "best" game out there or the most hardcore, but it is amazingly fun.
Being able to pop out original game ideas without being afraid of losing money because its not a copy of something else. Devs would create all kinds of crazy shit back then but now everything is a BLATANT copy. At least back then they were smart about how they did it like they did with streets of rage.
But there are games that try that flair, Little Big Planet is the first thing that comes to mind and that was a MASSIVE success. Sony turned that into one of the mottos and one game that came out which I enjoy still to this day is Modnation Racers. It used popular mechanics from other racing games, but that's where the similarities ended and what made it different began. But that didn't stop reviewers and critics from saying that it was copying Mario kart...the first thing I called BS on them for is the fact that the drifting thing was more Crash Team Racing since it was an essential bit to the MNR. It didn't feel like Mario Kart AT ALL but they still compared it because they were looking for Mario Kart, NOT a new racing game.
This is why gaming developing companies should be small, not large. It defeats the option that they can churn out games quickly and forces them to produce a game over a large period and gives them time to think over about it. With the media responses and fan responses they can go back to the game and rethink what they could make better. Treyarch haven't even considered this at all. They just have a simple, linear mindset that this is what it should be and this is what it always should be no matter what. They don't listen to their fans, they're too stubborn to even consider to consider something. I'm saddened as to what the CoD franchise has come to.
Quite often yes but hardly anyone is a bone idle fool. I'd rather have quiet and capable than someone who talked. Half the time they turn into a bossy retard.
I play a lot of MAG when I can and its pretty much an unwritten rule that you have to have a mic. No one is bossy really and we all listen to the squad leader....and the chain of command.
I don't have an issue with stock Black Ops (they're going in the right direction with the crossbow and the ballistic knife), but the post-release support is awful. The main issue with games nowadays is literally just price. There aren't any new, original titles that people get excited about simply due to the high price. Who wants to drop $60 on a new title nobody has ever heard of? I sure as hell don't.
Call of duty, Franchise as a whole, is to innovation as 3d realms is to releasing on time.
