I am happy with what Infinity Ward is doing with Modern Warfare 2.

I agree, if they you don't like the game, don't buy it... Like me.

Also, what the fuck do they think is so special about this game to yield raising the price to 60$?

shut your mouth
i have to pay £55 to get this game. that's $91.36
normally i would have to pay £40 to get this game. even then that's still more then america have to pay.
Weird. I paid 55 euros, that's actually over ten euros cheaper than the games I usually buy.

£55, really? what are you getting that on? And where from? I've seen the PC version for £25, but £55 is a bit much, unless you're getting the steel book edition.
Why does everyone need to keep making new threads to share their opinion?
9vs9 player cap.
CoD4 was intended to be a more arcade-ish multiplayer. Not realistic ones with huge maps and 200 players online. So when you joined a server on the map Crossfire while you're playing sabotage and there would be 32 players online, it would be absolute chaos.
There wouldn't be any tactics or anything similar to that skillbase because you'd spawn and then die after 5 seconds.
So 9vs9 is a very suitable player limit.
200 players in a 100x100 meter map is extremely unrealistic. I nominate this for dumbest comment of the year 2009!
i agree with everything but player cap.
i prefer larger matches

Okay so just don't play on those servers. Some people enjoy that, why take the option away? Options are always nice.
No unofficial player hosted dedicated servers.
So Infinty Ward will be hosting the servers for us ? Fantastic!
Now I will always get good latency and quality servers. And no dumbass 10 year old admins who ban you for "camping".
No, this is not fantastic. First of all, about your latency comment: Just no. Your ping will be much higher on average than if you were connected to a dedicated server, plus having player hosted games brings the whole "host advantage" argument into the mix. As for the admin comment you made, while I myself NEVER experienced a bad admin on Cod4, I know others have. To this, just join a different server, which is very easy.... given a server list.
No mods.
I'm not really happy about this one. Nor am I sad. So I could not care less about mods.
Besides.. 90% of all mods are always shit.
I could care less about them too, but others do care. Like I said before, options are always nice.
I'm more on the "dedicated servers or fuck off" bandwagon. if you cant be bothered to do MP right, don't do MP at all. Too many developers are getting into the habit of making no dedicated servers. It's just limiting the game's potential, it's stupid.

That was a great game!
I remember :')
I dont like COD:MW2 but 6v6 is enough for me.

1.You don't have to join those 32-64 player servers.
2.IW doesn't host those servers, they are peer2peer servers, you ain gonna find server below 100 ping, and you aint gonna find any admins at all to kick out Grieffers, hackers, ect.
3.What about that 10%, also this means no custom maps, servers, skins, ect.

What do you mean you have to join those 32 player servers? With all the dedicated servers in COD4 you had the choice from 18, 20, 24, 25, 29 player servers. They're optional if you want to have some chaotic battlefield 2 like fun.

Thats exactly what i meant :bang:
is there something wrong whit my english or yours?
I have to pay $90 USD for this, that's $124NZD, new games usually cost $100NZD retail here and around 60-70NZD depending on the exchange rate.
I'll be pre-ordering tomorrow, or today. :banjo:
Cancer.
I thought they were allowing 16v16. That seemed perfect.
I think 9v9 is a better amount of players, I prefer tactics and staying alive for more than a few minutes rather than the huge deathfest larger servers give.
But I think they should at least let us play on larger teams. Give us the freedom to play what we want you fucking pricks.
How about we are allowed to pick what size servers we want depending on our personal opinions?
Wait fuck, they got rid of dedi servers, that goes out the window.
Has anyone tried to play 64 players on Shipment?
Exactly, you Tried, and failed.

And why do dedicated servers always mean bigger servers? Me and my friends have a 10 player max server and we play all the time (CoD4).
I'm very hyped for this, actually, it's going to be epic. :holy:
OP gets my agree.
Me gets your boxes.

Don't forget leaning goes out the window too. This game is totally not balanced for lean.
Don't forget leaning goes out the window to. This game is totally not balanced for lean.
IW are the masters of balancing their games
I mean look at cod4! EVERYTHING was perfectly balanced!
9v9 is already what there was on consoles.
I wish it was higher, because it doesn't matter what your reasoning is, a higher cap is ALWAYS more fun.
Have you never played a 16v16 game?
It's stupid, you can't do anything without getting shot from somewhere.
9v9 is about as high as I want to play.
Although because of different people's opinions I don't see why they're capping it at 9v9, some people like playing on a massive scale
I don't understand why some people are like "Oh they screwed up the multiplayer, so what?"; It totally isn't like a multiplayer focused game, sure the singleplayer is probably really fun, but the reason everyone came back to COD4 was the multiplayer, without the good multiplayer it wouldn't have sold nearly as well.
Oh and people complaining that 16v16 is too much clearly have been playing the wrong game, only like two of the COD4 maps are a clusterfuck, even with 60 people.
I'm kind of in the middle with my opinion on this. For the console version of the game, this is great. For the PC, it ruins the game for me. I like the 25 vs. 25 player games, they can be done on servers with certain rule sets and custom maps, both of which now disappear. I played the game mostly to mod it, and made a more enjoyable experience for myself and a few friends....
Talking about both Modern Warfare 1 and Call of Duty 2 here, although I don't remember any 25 vs. 25 games in COD2, just the same tactical servers I play on in COD4 now.

But Jesus christ, the multiplayer IS NOT TOTALLY RUINED. :bang:
