Think GTA, but every building you can go in, and glitches fixed, with zombies.
But a huge huge city, like 10 times bigger than LC and zombies have to be shot in the head.
Also 2D platformerish spore where you can use pixels to make limbs n shite.
A) An MMO exactly like Wurm Online except it doesn't suck dick. In Wurm Online, everyone is basically thrown onto a blank slate world and can terraform the landscape, chop down trees to build buildings/boats, get weapons and armor to fight beasts, and even go raid other towns people have made and loot all of their stuff. It is awesome as balls BUT there are no animations, the models are horrible and very limited, and the interface is extremely clunky. If it had the animations and breezy interface of any modern game, I would be flying off of the walls for it. I am not being a graphics whore either, go try and play it.
or, a game genre in which I am very sad has not been made into an actual game
B) A game based off of the Warcraft III map "Island Troll Tribes" in which three teams of four each start off on their own tropical island (they all touch each other with shallow water in between) and have to survive and kill each other. Each person controls one troll (there are 6 classes like gatherer, hunter...) and has a constantly draining food bar (which is also health), heat bar, and sleepiness bar. They have to choose a site for camp together and then wander around and scavenge for sticks and flint to combine into a fire back at camp. They they have to hunt deer/wolves/bears/fish for meat which can be eaten raw, or cooked at a fire for double/triple the healing power. They keep collecting randomly spawning resources until they can build armourys, defense towers, spears, swords, and all of that and the tribes war until one wins.
Fuck Shit Up, but you're a malicious spirit of a dead Viking. So you can posses anyone! Fly into the body of a cop to brutalise inmates. Fly into the body of a cat and tear out people's throats. Fly into some random dude's body and just fuck shit up!
The world is fully destructible, and comes with GMODesque tools already in it for you to construct your own cities. A range of realms, from an English city to a tropical paradise, and multiplayer mode (fuck up the most shit/deathmatch - you're corporeal but with god like powers, so fling shit at each other). And of course GMOD style building games.
In response to your "open-world zombie game" idea in the OP, might I suggest trying Survival Crisis Z?
It's obviously not the game you talked about, but it's about as close as one can get.
I'd like a first/third person switchable GTA style game, using euphoria and all that neat jazz, realistic graphics, and serious tones rather than the silly shit in the GTA series.
Dwarf Fortress. It'll be this realistic and yet incredibly crazy game where you can mine out a fortress in a mountainside or even flat plains and then you mine for ore. Now and then, caravans, goblins or immigrants arrive and every time you play it's completely different. You can also explore your lost fortresses and- oh wait that's already been done :C
Not a game, but full complete SDK for GTA IV. Liberty City has so much possibilities.

GTA IV PC with some mods.
I would like a RTS with a user made factions but with the ability to take control of any of the units in an ArmA styled game with a health boost. You create your own PMC/Army to control and the game features Bad Company stlye destruction.
You have a massive choice of weapons, equipment and camouflage patterns. For tanks you could have a Spore styled system except more in depth. There could also maybe be some kind of basic equipment designer, for helmets and stuff.
You have various classes of infantry like Support infantry, Medics, Riflemen, Designated Marksmen and so on. Each class would have a weight limit, so you can't go around giving a PKM and a RPG to a medic because he has to carry the medic kit.
Specific things would add cost to the unit so a unit with only webbing and an AK will be way cheaper than a unit with the latest high tech gear and you can also choose the level of training put into the unit which will affect morale, cost, accuracy and the AI's cleverness.
The battlefields would be massive, spanning huge distances. You would need to manage things like supplies, temporary bases and (maybe) morale. So you can't just gather up 20 infantry and 10 tanks then go rush the enemy base, you would need supply trucks ferrying ammunition to the troops, radiomen relaying targets for jets to hit more efficiently and so on.
There would be four main modes:
Campaign, in which it's a sort of a conquer the world type like Europa Universalis. You would have to make use of clever diplomatic tactics to avoid the major alliances at the time declaring war on you. So for example you could bomb your own capital and link it to the neighboring country, thus allowing you to declare war.
Skirmish, featuring two modes. The stretched out long term one, with supply trucks and realistic management or the normal, more traditional fast paced RTS mode.
In the long term one, you start off with a bunch of supply trucks, engineers and a couple of troops. You get resources by capturing "strategic points", these are usually on good locations like in a bunker, a city or on a hill. Your troops have limited ammo and have brilliant AI, if you order them to move to the hill and they are under fire, they will look for cover and if there isn't any, they will go prone and shoot blindly in the enemy's direction.
The fog of war would also be lifted realistically, what your units can realistically see, you can too.
There are no fancy bases with concrete walls and such, you set up quick forward bases with your engineers until later where you can call in the proper construction vehicles to set up a nice base.
There are civilians and they can be used in the game, so if your basic infantry looks almost the same as a civilian and he hides his gun, the enemy won't know that he isn't a civilian until his gun is spotted or he shoots. Units will also not fire upon the enemy whenever he is near, they actually have to see him first. So hiding in bushes actually has an advantage
Of course with full coop support.
I'd kind of like to see something that's like Animal Crossing mixed with Oblivion/Fallout 3 mixed with Diablo 2.
There'd be a big ol' open world to explore, and it'd be an action game with RPG elements like leveling up, improving skills, and lots of randomly-generated loot, but like Animal Crossing/Oblivion/Fallout 3, you'd have a home in the game, and you'd collect lots of items and mementos of all your travels during the game.
I do this all the time in Oblivion and Fallout 3. I just collect random items, like jewels in Oblivion or billiard balls in Fallout 3, and hoard them in my house, using them as decoration and stuff. Any time I go on a memorable adventure or kill some special enemy, I try to take home a souvenir of my adventure.
So, like Animal Crossing, decorating your home should be a large element of the game. AC is kind of a just-for-the-hell-of-it item-collection game though, and Oblivion/Fallout 3 allow you to store things in your house, but it doesn't feel like they intend for you to strew items all over the place, so I think this game would need some kind of aspect that includes benefits for house decoration, like keeping certain items would make you more likely to find gold, or make your character stronger in certain ways, or cause helpful potions and stuff to appear at your house whenever you visit.
A game about survival, collecting resources, making things and levveling up in a completely rnadomly generated enviroment. With all manners of skills like hunting, fishing, woodcraft, stonecraft, metalcraft. Each game the content is added randomly and each animal, item, food effects are randomly assigned yet the game still be fair and fun. You can go aorund killing things and sleeping under bushes or build a base and try to fend of cave trolls. Weather can effect your bases so if a Hurricane hits your flimsy twig shelter you will be doomed. Your actions will directly affected by the players mood so if you make him unhappy by making him walk throguh swamps in the rain he won't dig as fast ect. The invention of new items is through levveling up and in each level more items to make are revealed, however as their is no trading (their might be bribing intelligent races) there would ne no need to grind up to the max levels. Also whats the point in making something if you aren't skilled enough to use it without hurting yourself?
This is my current game project.
Why don't rockstar make a mod for GTA 4 using a zombie twist. People attack you and look like zombies! I don't think it would be that hard since they have 3/4 of the game there.
If I could make a video game thread I'd make it about half-life Ep.3 and I'd post it in this section of the forums.
If I could make a video game thread I'd make it about half-life Ep.3 and I'd post it in this section of the forums.
that would be funny if the title didn't have "If you could make a video game" IN QUOTES.
I work with what you give me.
Fully desctructible with physics, space based first person combat, 200 player multiplayer, fly ships, run around stations/moons/planets/astroids, fuck shit up, blow people up, get fucked in the ass as your closet you hide in runs out of air after the hallway of the station was blow apart and lost air, be pissed about why you left your oxygen tank and helmet somewhere elss to save weight.
Fuck shit up: IN SPACE!
DLC 1: Construction tools: Tools to build and fix the stations/ships, repair shit, build shit, fuck shit up! (Costs: free.)
DLC 2:Singleplayer addition + open world roleplay gamemode!(single/multi) (Costs 5$)
Game costs: 45$ (with all dlc)
Ok great ideas in here somewhere.
So in the game, you are a riot police man in a huge city. it takes place in a futuristic society where its like, semi powered aromor, anyways, you and buds are trying to suppress a civilian uprising, and end up stuck in the city sewers where the subways, underground mines and caverns, and underground water resivors are infected with a zombie disease. you must restore power to the tunnels and kill the zombies in almost complete darkness. details like a subway fight with zombies crawling all over would be awesome. And a riot shield for use of bashing zombies.
I was thinking how Splinter Cell:Conviction would be like if merged with some kind of more military-themed game as Modern Warfare 2 (Don't flag me as a 8 year old :P).
Mixed with a customization system in tune of RSLV2, but more detailed.

but kinda like this

Elements as stealth will be incorporated, but you can always grab that M249 and shoot everything that moves.
Iv'e got the box art, now just to make it happen.

uhm is kinda in the making http://www.infinity-universe.com/Infinity/index.php
also note: i said kinda.. I don't know if its an mmo.
Actually writing down my idea, I'll post a more detailed and thought out version later.
A real, life-sized galaxy which you can explore, name your own planets and stuff.
Before saying this is impossible, bear in mind this is possible with procedural generation.
I would want to make a game,
2 Games actually,
First:
Gangsters VS Aliens
It would be set somewhere in America, an alien ship would land near one of the gangster "hoods" and all of the gangsters would want to check it out,
The game would me an Multiplayer TPS where you can be either the Dual Uzi wielding gangster or the body melting laser wielding Alien,
It would also include free updates on special occasions like Halloween where the gangsters would dress up as Pirates and aliens as Ninjas, the spaceships would had stuff put on like a cardboard Pirate ship,
The second one:
Afrofunk
It would be set in a fictional city in the 70's, where you're the Ultra Hit Weed Smoking Schmuck Afro Guy who has Funk Magic,
Funk Magic would be a Telekinetik and Mind controlling power, you could pick shit up and throw shit at other shit, or mind control shit to attack other shit,
The plot would be that Heavy Metal Fans and Guitarists traveled back in time to change the future where all of the world would be taken over by Heavy Metal,
You would try to save the world with using your Funk Magic,
The fights would be Street Fighter style, the last enemy would always had the thing where you hit the right keys for him to get defeated, eg. getting hit then thrown into the trash bin,
There would be a free world with vehicles, you could mind-control the vehicle owner for him to get out, and you'd get his car, the weapons would include nunchucks, radio speakers, bottles, even disks,
The final boss would be a Heavy Metal Star, and he would sing the song "Die Mutherfucker Die" while you dodge his darkness attacks and try to defeat him.
I would make a combat simulator, with goggles you wear to simulate virtual reality, you stand on a threadmill that spins depending on in what direction you move in reality, and you spin ingame. Walking forwards activates the treadmill so you cant walk out of the room, same with walking backwards.
As for collision detection, you would be wearing a motion capture suit so you would basicly need no animations, you would manually reload and everything but on a more basic level. You would have a set of a few weapons you would use ingame that you would hold in reality, as for collision detection if you leaned too far into a wall or something, the ingame movement would stop and you could keep leaning that way in reality but nothing would happen.
Proning on a treadmill would be annoying, but it would be worth it.
Also who the fuck rated me funny?
This fuckin' ain't funny, fellas.
I'd probably do a MMO-like FPS that is based on a fictional war, if not, it would be WW2.
Upon registering, you'd have a chance to choose a faction, player name, your characters loadout system, and his look. The game would auto-choose your rank between private and lieutenant. Then you'd go into training zone, which will upon your qualifications choose whenever you'd be a foot soldier, paratrooper, tank driver, engineer, pilot, sailor, medic etc. Then you'd have a chance to choose your division.
When you finally enter the game, you'd end up in your faction's HQ (for example: London, Moscow, Berlin), aka a pre-game lobby in which you choose the front you wanna go to, ask for weapon and rank changes in the division HQ, train some more to gain XP points(not for leveling, but for overall character skill, like, his aim), and have fun with your team mates. You'd get battlezone news 24/7 in the form of newspaper, that way you can get informed when is your faction loosing against USSR in tank battles, are you winning against UK in air battles, etc.
Then you get to the battle part!
When you decide to go to a war zone(entire Europe and North Africa, in the case of WW2), you'll be transported there either with a plane, ship, train or a convoy. You'll end up in a safety zone(usually some city or a place where some stronghold was) and you'll finally get into a 10-man squad of a 100-man team out of a 500 battalion army. And then it's FIGHTING TIME!!! The tankers would get their nice, shiny tanks with fully modeled interior and realistic view with 5-man crews to blow up some more tanks! Infantry would get trucks or jeeps, or just go on foot! All air assault teams will be thrown behind enemy lines to wreck them from behind, etc. The engineers would have capability of creating trenches, bunkers, depots, mortar sites and artillery guns. THAT'S the time when teamwork comes in! Engineer starts to do stuff(repair mashens and build things), and some of the squad mates help him out, while others cover him! If a soldier/officer has a radio, then you can call in for help, tell the locations of enemies, call in artillery strikes from the stronghold, and if you're near the shore, you can even call the navy to do an invasion or bomb the shit out of the coastal defenses! But when you die, You'd respawn back at the war zone HQ and wait for deployment, giving you the time to gear up and call in your team buddies. One server would house 100,000 slots in total, with 50,000 players on each team, while the faction HQ will house up to 200,000 friendly soldiers.
I'd want something that's basically GMod Stranded but standalone, but much better. Everything would be more in depth, there would be lots of things to hunt, random weather effects that can help you or harm you (lightning can strike your house, lighting it on fire, rain = faster plant growth, etc.) multiplayer of course, and there would need to be some system to prevent griefing. Although letting players kill each other would add a very interesting element... Of course now that UDK is out if someone wanted to they could make something like this (hint hint).
It's a bit hard to explain. A sci-fi MMOFPS for the PC where you're controlling an actual robot soldier somewhere on a distant battlefield from the comfort of your own home, but not really. You'd open up the "program", from there you can log into the bot you've been "assigned" to, and get to fighting. You'll watch your bot being transported from storage onto the battlefield. Destroyed? No worries, we have thousands just like that one in storage. You can customize your robot, but that cost credits, which are earned through combat, though that doesn't necessarily mean you have to be good, but it helps. Plays kinda like Planetside and Dystopia (minus the hacking) merged together, and more immersive.
One more,
A game that's mostly for multiplayer, bringing a horror experience that can be shared among friends. Think Dead Space, but one guy's the alien infection, and he can mutate the infection to whatever he wants. Zombies that spread the infection through biting people? A fungal growth that spreads inexorably throughout the ship, trapping and consuming everything? Hordes of creatures sweeping through and killing everything? An infection that just makes people really trip out and confused? All possible through a huge "Mutation tree" that you spend biomass collected from the humans to change yourself, basically plays like an RTS. Everyone else picks a person at random on the ship, which itself is randomly picked, only the size based on how many people are playing. You can be a scientist, an engineer, ship captain, part of security, or some bum hiding in the confines of the ship for a free ride to wherever. The game is very deep, you can initiate a quarantine, if you have the right credentials. Getting your hands on a firearm would normally be difficult, unless you're a part of security. Difficultly would depend on the person you choose. Being the first person to encounter the infection would be harder than being the guy watching the security monitors.
And 1 moar:
Jew
The plot would be that jews took over the world and Nazis are the only resistance, it would have the GHOUL gore engine, who doesn't want to see a jews intensities getting ripped out by cannon fire?
You would be Corporal Izan (Read backwards), and you would have to lead a small group of soldiers through places such as Antarctica and Africa, killing armored jews on your way to get certain stuff in order to create a time machine.
It would have weapons such as Jew Rays, explosive ropes, Kamikaze Nazi Robots, Flying Tanks and more,
The ending would be that Nazis create a time machine and go to the past to eradicate all jews before it happens,
And therefore, Nazis happen.
hurr you r col becaas u inslut jwes lol xD
Also, the Infection gamemode is what I hoped for from Space Station 13, but never got.
I just want some dynamic flesh/gore/damage, like shooting somebody in the leg, destroying his bone and muscle and thus he cannot walk anymore. Or hitting them in the chest pierces his lung, so he falls down gasping for air, and if the bullet is big enough, his internal cavity is destroyed and pieces of it get teared away by the impact, and you should see them in the floor next to the corpse. The same applies to the rest of the body.
You could play with it even further, designing your own bullets with different materials, sizes and shapes to change their piercing power, form of damage, speed, etc.
Then at the end of each level you should be presented with a compilation of all your shots and kills, as if it was an autopsy (Like in JFK Reloaded, only more graphical and comprehensive), letting you adapt your bullets and weapons accordingly.
