It sorta looks like you put mustard-colored rocks on it. Try to make it look like it's actually in the rock.
and make it look more golden than yellowed
go for more of a beige

I really like that Netherrack. The ender portal frame seems.. odd. I like how it matches the new Enderman eye colour, but the Eye of Ender placed within sound be appropriately changed to match. I'd also recommend you make them square like vanilla to avoid those transparency bugs on the corners.

I can't believe you guys are still using my stone, it was terrible. I'll try to get photoshop and redo it later. Maybe also touch up on the ores while I'm at it. Don't mind me.
ManDog I prefered your previous textures. The current side textures look like a cheap gradient to me.
you should probably make the gold brighter and shinier, it's too dark. looks more like iron.
I think gold should look more veiny myself. Nuggets are just the result of gold being tumbled in a stream for ages.
Netherrack tiles pretty badly.

It also needs a loud, shloppy footstep sound, but we can't control that. Not unless we have deserts of quicksand and an audiomod requirement.
The actual Gold Ore should be the Iron one, the netherrack should be more noisy with blood and etc.
Thanks for making a screenshot of my Netherrack one. I actually only used a radial blur of my texture for it to make it, so I agree that it doesn't tile as well as some other things.

The block breaking looks like static in the last 5 frames when you destroy something. They shouldn't fill up every pixel in the last couple frames. Instead of going for a lot of little cracks that fill up the entire area, go for fewer and more spread out cracks.
I'd like the breaking animation to be a little bomb that shakes and then explodes as the block breaks.
I'll do it if the one we have now falls through.
I think a lot of people would prefer having an actual destruction animation, as, unlike V1, we're trying to make this a texture pack which can be used as much as the Default texture pack.

It seems more distracting than helpful and frankly looks strange. You're not building the block, you're breaking it.
I don't like the dirt we have now. It's really smooth, and I think it could use more earthiness.
I liked how this came out for a request in the chat thread, so I'm gonna throw this in for the bow. I'll make it not so default looking in a little bit.I know we're not on item textures yet, but here it is so that when we get to them it's there.
