This looks amazing for mods. What's the developer's position on the tools?
don't know about modability, but map editor should be coming out next patch/month.
[sp]Do you know which parts the other two are? I tried with every kind I could find (except the ones saying something like "I don't need this"), yet none worked.[/sp]
[sp]A piece of ore, and an infuser.[/sp]

[sp]13[/sp], and I'd say it's quite replayable. I'm replaying it now on hard with a new party and a better understanding of what I'll need during the playthrough. If you want to restart, now is the time. My first playthrough took 19 hours, and I only got about half of the secrets, 14/16 notes, and 3/7 treasures.
Just completed the game. It's really good, and I would definitly recommend it to others
(End-game spoilers)
[sp]However I disliked the last boss, I was hoping for something so incredibly threatning, that you would piss your pants. Why would you need such an elaborate dungeon on top of a cube? Why not just take it apart? Oh well, it was a really good game, so I am willing to look past it.[/sp]
I just finished floor 5, but there's a door I couldn't get open. There's a note saying that the guy left some shit in the room, and he couldn't remember how to open the door, and he said he did three things and pulled the lever a bunch of times and left the lever up to open the door. There's two buttons on the walls next to the door and the one lever, and I have no clue how to open this door and I'm not getting any feedback from my actions. I've pushed the buttons randomly and jiggled the lever a bunch of times, but it won't open. Any suggestions?
-edit-
Whoops, jiggled it some more and it opened, and then i got raped by mushroom men after i fell down a hole, teleported back up anbd was caught trapped where i spawned.
How the fuck do you beat the fighter's challenge? Should I just ignore it till I level up or is there some trick to kill these buggers when they surround you?
Also, I managed to skip two whole floors. I tried for a long time to get into both of them, but then I gave up and just continued on.
I feel bad for being stuck on level 2. I just can't find this damn key.

Also, since I'm not sure if the original poster will be updating the first post, does anyone else want to take over?

Okay, found it.

Not even sure how this is possible. There is one level that is sealed but you come back to it. There is another level that is mostly optional [sp]You need to enter via a secret entrance on the level above, and it is really hard, trolls everywhere and this room full of poison mushrooms but you get a sword at the end that is the best weapon in the game[/sp]

There's a gold key to the right when you teleport in. If you don't need it to solve the puzzle, use the sword of fire you get to kill them was fast as possible and beeline to the key, and try and make it to the gate so you can fight them one at a time. You also get the same kind of key from the ogre you fought at the beginning, but I haven't tested to see if that works. There's also a secret passage to the left I haven't tried either.
This guide is VERY useful:

anyone discover new spells not on that list?
endgame question for those who've beaten it.
[sp]what do I do after I revive the cube? I am confused.[/sp]

[sp]You go to a teleporter that appeared on the place at the right side of where you first stepped inside the prison.[/sp]

Basic dungeon engine. Trying to figure out what FOV and camera settings he used (the guy used an engine he built from scratch). It seems, after I took a bunch of screenshots and examined the perspective, that he has the camera rotated slightly downwards, with a FOV of about 85 or so (at least, those settings in Unity match his screens as close as possible).
BTW, not planning on doing any fantasy based stuff with this. I've actually been planning this out for ages and just got around to knocking something together really quickly. WASD moves, Q and E strafe.
Mine also supports multiple levels, if that makes sense. Ie, instead of a flat dungeon, you can go up and down ramps, stairs etc, without transitioning maps. There is a small ramp in map to demo this.
I'm at level 3 in this one room you have to press the button and run to and these two spiders have desolated me about 9 times in a row. I keep getting blocked in corners and getting molested as a result, anyone got any tips?

As you run in, try to quickly press the button behind you to the right so the door opens again and you can go back out. This gives you some corridor space so you can dispatch the two spiders more easily.

Ah thanks, I figured there might be a button to re-open it but I never had time to check because they almost immediately started maiming me.
Hnnnnnnngh... The maze of madness on floor 6. I simply can't get through, oh gods
I spent like an hour on that stupid maze, god that was so tormenting. [sp] There's a switch on the wall to the left when you enter the maze, hit it and it removes one of the portals to advance. [/sp]

I was streaming when I hit that level.
I think I ran through that one maze at least ten times because I kept mis-stepping or falling down the pit afterwards.
So there's this guy who keeps trying to get a free copy of Grimrock to review it for his blog, and I was going to make a snarky remark about him just wanting free stuff, and then I look at his blog. He has tons of decently written reviews- none of which have any comments. Then I look at his profile, and it says his job is "video game reviewer" Now I'm starting to wonder what this guys story is. Is he just some basement dweller who wishes he was the next Yahtzee or Total Biscuit? Or maybe he's like a veteran or something who got paralyzed or something, and video games are all he's got left, and can't afford to buy any with the medical bills.
The key thing we have to ask is does he write good well rounded reviews?
Oh man I could totally use a copy of this game for... Review purposes. I might not get the review done for a very long time though. Fair warning.
Maybe I'll trade some TF2 items to get a "review copy" of this game.
