I like my celestial steed, apart from the fact that it changes with location and level it also looks good with most of my characters as the majority are human females. It's slightly embarassing to ride it at the moment because there are so many of them about and a lot of talk in Trade about how retarded those of us who can afford to buy dlc are (I also have a Pandaren Monk - very cute) but I'm sure that will die down in time and sparkly horse riders will be able to use the mount without too much abuse. In my opinion part of the fun of WoW is the quirkiness and the way you can do things not really to do with levelling or fighting - and there are a lot of items which have in reality been purchased with "real" money anyway, via the gold sellers. At least this way Blizzard gets the money and hopefully some of it goes towards improvements to the game.

It's not like their giving you some 320% speed mount for 25 bucks. It's not game changing at all, it's a vanity item, It's like those people who killed 9000 welpings for a pet, It's a waste of time and or money, But hey, Who else has it? The problem with this is that they'll release more shit like this. I think in subscription based games there shouldn't be any DLC, that's just ridiculous.

I don't see what the big problem is over a simple vanity item. As a mount collector this thing was a MUST HAVE for me and seeing as there's the spectral tiger and other mounts obtainable from lootcards for 10x the price of the steed (maybe exadurated slightly but it's still a hella lot more) go complain about those as well. I bought the mount with hard cash I earned, I love the mount, I couldn't really care what everyone in /2 cry about it but respect that everyone's entitled to their opinion. No matter how pissed they are that mom won't let them use her credit card.

I don't mind buying it, but I will not. A lot of RPGs have exclusive "Members only items" where are only available if you are member of that game. The fact that everyone playing WoW is a member, there shouldn't be further in-game content that requires cash. Since Blizzard was really successful with Steed, it is no doubt Blizzard will soon create further exclusive items which is really what I am not looking forward to.

Since WoW made around $3.5 million from the steed it looks pretty likely they'll be offering other purchasable DLC in the future. They almost certainly won't be dumb enough to ever release anything players have to have in order to play, since that would make everyone angry. They'll probably release some very desirable vanity items though.

Its $25 for a mount that is bind to your account. Any toon you make on any server will have it, so i really dont see why its such a bad thing.. if u want it.. Buy it.. if you dont.. Then dont.. plan and simple

I just see it as a price issue. I suppose your general WoW-specific gamer would be glad to spend $25 on a mount. But the way I see it is it costs $15 for a month of playtime. Is this mount more valuable than a month of playtime? Hell, GTA4 was $8 today for a short time on steam, and I would take that game a million times over a single mount in a game. Point being though, it depends on the person and generally their level of undying love for this game. Also at first I was pretty pissed that blizzard released this, but at this point I'm just giving them props for knowing how to exploit a player base so easily. 2 mil in a few hours? That's business skill right there. It's not blizzard who is stupid for releasing this, it's the people who buy them heh, as long as theirs a market for it blizz can do w/e they want.

I dont get why people even want it. for one it is UGLY! And the only friggin character in the game that doesnt look out of place on it is a human, I mean god! Have you seen a tauren on it? Or a troll? The mount doesnt even change size, it's worse then watching a taurne on a hawkstrider. Did I mention it's ugly?

We don't need new ones (I was on Laughing Skull-EU for years, under 1,000 people on each side now, which is not unique by any means).

I play on an RP server. So, to put it one way, if I bought it for my characters, I'd cop about thrice as much shit as someone on any other server would. ... Now I wanna buy it to piss people off. Uh oh.
